There is a few things you did wrong and I'll help you out. I've been doing this for years and I've never had a problem with my stuff having a blue tint. I've used it on every color imaginable. 1. Mod Podge Dimensional does make the design smear. I've found adding a clear of nail polish before adding it will help 100% with that. 2. It also depends on your printer. If you're using cheap ink the ink will have a blue tint after it fades. 3. It's 10x easier to fill the pins if you add the backing first and then poke them to a styrofoam log or box. For adding the Mod Podge, Don't shake the bottle otherwise air bubbles will form and I found that using a thumbtack or needle pops the bubbles really easily if some do form. You're gonna wanna go at a steady pace not really fast but not too slow otherwise it will start to get tacky and dry before you have finished. Hope this helps people in the future!
How do you flatten your Shrink Plastic? I've a lot of trouble with that. I bake them in the Oven and then Get them out and try to flat them immediately. They always stay a little bit uneven. And the Mod Podge gives me Headaches . Even when there aren't any bubbles to see after drying there are some and my work is dead :(
do you just flatten them for about 5-10 seconds or do you flatten them for a while? if there still hot and have nothing flattening them they bend a little, you should take them out put a book or something heavy on top of them then leave them to go cold since their cold they should stay flat
Hi Minnie, is "clear off nail polish" o nail polish clear color? I'm from Chile so I trying to understand what product is, because i have the same problem. Thanks for your help :)
I've been thinking of doing my own pins like these....thanks for doing a video detailing the process. I sooo wish I could come by the artist alley if I didn't live sooooo far away :P I hope you have a great convention!
You are welcome Jennifer Charlee Art :) I am happy to hear that you like the video :D Hehe :D that could have been nice. But I did have a really great con :) people were so nice and I am looking forward to edited the vlog that I filmed during the weekend
Nice tutorial on making these. Most of these videos just tell you where to manufacture them. I want to get into this by doing one off designs for friends/family right now. I was wonder have you tried this with other materials though? I heard metal clay could work, but I am still researching it. Also do you paint these at all? Thanks.
Hi :) thanks for your comment. No I haven't tried with other materials, but I am sure you can find other tutorials on it somewhere on the internet :) Good luck with your project :)
I just found you and you’re so lovely! I’ve been looking at the comments as well and you seem to interact with your audience! Keep it up, looking forward to new videos
Hello ! I am wondering about the way you packaged them. Where did you get the cardboard and plastic to wrap them. How did you design the cardboard ? Thanks
For these I used some cardboard scrap pieces I had and since I didn't make so many I drew the text on by hand, but later I have just printed on some white cardboard that I got from my local craft-store :) and the plastic wrap was also some left over that I once got from ebay, but I have stopped using plastic for my pins and buttons :)
Hi Framboiloulou PinkWinter :) thank you so much for the comment ❤️❤️ I am using Photoshop for all my digital drawing, at least until I'm getting an iPad next month.
Thanks Kristel sil :) I haven't tried that myself, but I have seen others do it. Just keep in mind that if you use white paper you wouldn't be able to see the art on the back, but you can get a transparent version
Hej!
Hi :) I used something like this www.amazon.com/Grafix-KSF6-CIJ-2-Inch-11-Inch-Printable/dp/B00164THU8 and just my own home printer - I have a HP photosmart 5520. Hope it helps :)
Must admit I haven't tried it, but I don't think so. Pretty sure that you need a the oven to be a specific temperatur, and I dont think a microwave has that options so unless it's a combi oven, I don't think it will work.
you need a toaster oven. microwave oven will not work since it will use microwaves and not actual heat. you can try if you want and share your experience but it will probably not work
No not necessarily, but I just wanted to protect the pins on the way to the con and at the con FutureLaugh. I completely understand were you are coming from, and I am trying the same. Maybe you can find some eco friendly bags if you want to use them :)
Is it safe to bake that kind of plastic in the oven? Isn't it going to release toxins and stuff like that? I'd really love to make pins like that, but I want to be really sure it won't hurt my health
I didn't smell anything, and I think that they are safe to use since they are made for the purpose of being baked in the oven. But I have to be honest I am no professionel or doctor, so I can't be sure. Hope that helped you Alessandra Fiorenzo :)
For the last part of the video I felt like she was about to cry and probably throw up but that’s alright cause why am I making fun of a great RUclipsr. Don’t be ashamed I was just pointing something out.
A puglife And more maybe she has social anxiety, because of knowing she’s in front of a camera and people will see her 😔💕I know you probably didn’t mean anything rude by it, but some things are just better kept to yourself
I use a needle to get out the bubbles and then I try not to shake the bottle to much in between each pin. But if you find another way of doing it, I would love to know :)

U're super duper cute when you talk! And I love your pins
Awww thank you so much Pony Verde lml :)

Hola. Por qué los pines para poner en el clay viene con una pestaña chica hacia el lado opuesto ?
This has helped so much omg thank u
SneakerCreeps that makes me so happy to hear :) glad that I could help you :)
hi quick question what size did u first print the imagery and what size did it then shrink to
Lovely artwork! Which printer did you use for printing shrink plastic?
Thank you so much :) I just used an HP 5520 printer, but it's not the best and i wish I had a different one :p
This is so cool! ♥
Thanks Kada Allen :)

These are so cute!!! What program do you use to create the design ?
Thanks, I love your channel ❤️
Hi Framboiloulou PinkWinter :) thank you so much for the comment ❤️❤️ I am using Photoshop for all my digital drawing, at least until I'm getting an iPad next month.
i LOVE your channel! Keep on doing youtube ;)
Thank you so much Pascaal Meleo :) I love doing RUclips so that I will keep doing :D
I tryed this it worked
That's nice to hear Esperanza Lacayo :)
what style is this called? i love it!
What style it is?? I don't know...I don't really have a name for my style :p But thank you :)
ok :)
Hey can i just use iron instead of oven?
You cant really, as the pins need to curl up as part of the shrinking process
You remind me a lot of Millie Bobby Brown.
Wow really? never heard that before :P
So helpful
You are so cute OMG love U, nice job, greetings from Mexico City ❤
❤
And where do you buy the pins you glie behind? Thank you 😍🙏✨
Hi :) The once I have used I found on Ebay, but there's a lot of places you can get them :)
Love them. Can these be used as pendants^oo^
Thanks Kristel sil :) I haven't tried that myself, but I have seen others do it. Just keep in mind that if you use white paper you wouldn't be able to see the art on the back, but you can get a transparent version
Kristel sil i dont know why not?????
Where are you from
THANK YOU
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Will an officejet HP printer work with this?
I am using an HP Photosmart 5520 so I guess yeah :)
Hej! Jeg er også fra Denmark og jeg ville bare lige spørger om du vidste hvor man kunne få det her “shrink film” og “pin backings” i en fysisk butik i Denmark? ☺️❤️

What did u print them on u weren’t very clear ?
Hi :) I used something like this www.amazon.com/Grafix-KSF6-CIJ-2-Inch-11-Inch-Printable/dp/B00164THU8 and just my own home printer - I have a HP photosmart 5520. Hope it helps :)
Can I use a convection oven on this?
I am sorry I don't know, since that's not the kinda oven I have. I hope you figure it out :)
Did you use clear or white shrink film?
I used White shrink film Sinéad Reichenberg
white
i tried this and it came out almost perfect. is there anything you do to fix the little crater the mod podge gives? or it that normal?
I haven't tried fixing it myself, but I think that it's normal unfortunately Cristian Felix. But if you find a way to fix it please let me know :)
tq for sharing.
You are welcome :)
My pins are well made, but when dry it gets cracked... What could be the reason? 😭
I am so sorry. I haven't experienced that before. But if I do and I find out why. I will try to remember to come back and let you know :)
Can you use microwave?
Must admit I haven't tried it, but I don't think so. Pretty sure that you need a the oven to be a specific temperatur, and I dont think a microwave has that options so unless it's a combi oven, I don't think it will work.
you need a toaster oven. microwave oven will not work since it will use microwaves and not actual heat. you can try if you want and share your experience but it will probably not work
how necessary is the plastic baggie around it? i am trying to be eco conscious- do they serve a significant function?
No not necessarily, but I just wanted to protect the pins on the way to the con and at the con FutureLaugh. I completely understand were you are coming from, and I am trying the same. Maybe you can find some eco friendly bags if you want to use them :)
Obviously it's to protect the pins....Recycling is a thing ya'know.
I love swink film
Is it safe to bake that kind of plastic in the oven? Isn't it going to release toxins and stuff like that?
I'd really love to make pins like that, but I want to be really sure it won't hurt my health
I didn't smell anything, and I think that they are safe to use since they are made for the purpose of being baked in the oven. But I have to be honest I am no professionel or doctor, so I can't be sure. Hope that helped you Alessandra Fiorenzo :)
Lykkelilje Thank you!
Alessandra Fiorenzo you are welcom :)
My ovens broken its almost 40 years old lol
Hope it wasn't because of the pin making? :) But I would say that if your oven was 40 years old, that's pretty cool and way older than me :p
where can you buy those things cause I've been looking all over and I cant find Mod Podge or Shrink Film
I got it from Amazon Victoria Campbell, because there's not really any store where I live that have it. I hope that you find what you are look for :)
Not to hate buttt at 1:15 does she really say swink film??
That I properly did :) It was really hard for me to say. And I wasn't really sure what to call it as well :p
Mya Elizabeth english clearly isn’t her first language so tbh, she did her best
Or order them off of zap creatives
I had never heard of a zap creatives before, but that seems like a really nice site Serenity Scratch :) Thanks a lot for sharing :D
Lykkelilje yea im glad you liked it =) I just ordered a ton of charms from them for a convention
You look like Eleven fron Stranger Things.
Wow! You're right :p
When i saw you talking i felt like i wanna cry :"
Why??
I don't know but it seems like you're crying
Sorry😂
Havd never heard that before, but you don't have to apologize for that :)
App name
Handa wiki she said photoshop
its not swink , its shrink :O)
Hehe yeah I know. But english isn't my main language and my pronunciation isn't the best :p
Does anyone know how to take out the bubbles or no?
I use a needle to get out the bubbles and then I try not to shake the bottle to much in between each pin. But if you find another way of doing it, I would love to know :)
