I used this technique to print onto cotton fabric. Making wall hangings with LED lights, so much fun!
That's a great idea! Thanks for watching !
Thank you for sharing 😊 I use different method using kitchen paper towels. I spray lightly painting paper with repositioning spray adhesive, apply kitchen towe (2 ply) l and print. After that I remove top printed layer and thats it. Kitchen towel is easier to decoupage- no need to use water or glue on printed towel, just glue applied to base, add picture. No wrinkles at all. Thank you for sharing, your videos are very professional, informative and easy to follow. Thank you 😊
That's a great idea!
I am just getting into decoupage and your videos are most helpful!! It never occurred to me to print on the napkins.🤯 This opens up a whole new craft world for me. Thanks for sharing!!
Yes it works amazing!! Thanks for watching Wanda
I love this!! I was searching for thin paper for this very thing. Yippee!! Using the extra ply from the printed napkins is genius. Simple common sense. I find myself saying...
"Why didn't I think of that?"
You are so welcome!
I do this same technique with tissue paper. Never thought use napkins! TFS
Thanks for watching ☀️ it works fantastic on napkins

Deidre, this was Amazing!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I came to your video by accident. I then thought wow making a coaster’. Your tutorial on how to make your own designs for your coasters was Amazing. I ended up attempting your steps and was able to make coasters with my favorite Angels baseball players. I’m excited for some upcoming gifts that I’m going to make for my Family 🙏 thanks again for sharing.
What a great idea for coasters! Happy to inspire
Where is the video to make your own coasters?
I am so happy I watched this. I was just searching for Christmas napkins, I hope this will work in my printer.
Make sure secured well to paper along the whole edge and press really well with iron and it should be fine :)
For some reason I have issues separating the plies after it’s ironed
Thanks a lot for this excellent technique!!!!!
Thanks so much for watching glad you enjoyed

So easy!
A great video
Thanks!! Such a cool technique
I enjoyed watching now , I have an idea on how to print using decoupage paper. Thanks
Thanks for watching ❤️ yes it works great!!
very nice
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed
I just found your videos today! So happy I did !!! I was wondering when would I apply the hair spray? I love your items !
So glad you found my channel hope you find lots of great contact love new crafting friends you only need to apply the hairspray if you’re using an inkjet printer so the ink will not run when you apply the mod podge
I am glad I found it. Thank you. My laser jet is a Dell and I have found that it jams a lot with many card stocks, so the tape may be too thick. I’ll give it a try and let you know if it works. 😁
Welcome!! Yes some printers can be touchy!! Give it a try . If it works for you the possibilities are endless!
Is there a printer setting (maybe an advanced setting) that says type of paper, sometimes there's a setting for thicker paper.
Very interesting thank you will have a gl x
Thanks for watching!
Awsome
Thanks for watching ❤️
thank you so much for this tutorial... I've been contemplating using the extra sheet of the napkins to make my own... can this process work with rice paper also?
I love making my own napkins! Yes you can use rice paper
WOW!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
This was very cool! Is this the process you used for the decoupage soap? I just love that idea! You could make a personalized bar of soap. Great stocking stuffers! Can't wait to try it!
Yes it is!! Such great gift ideas
I use a glue stick along the top of my copy paper and attach the tissue by lining up and lightly rubbing across the top. It works perfectly with my Brother inkjet printer but will not work on my Cannon inkjet printer unless I put the glue stick on all 4 sides. This might help someone, also. Thank you for your suggestion.
Thanks for sharing
Hi, I was thrilled to see this video. Thank you! Quick question, can you use a krylon clear glaze spray to seal the ink, and if yes, will the edges of the napkin blend down onto the surface of my project like normal decoupage or do I have to cut out straight line edges only? I wasn’t sure if the spray prevents the napkin background from blending in. Thank you in advance.
Yes it will work if you spray lightly. Don’t cut straight edges you want ragged so it blends
Thanks for what you do. I love your content. I am looking for a video on printing on rice paper for decoupage. I don't remember if it was one you did, or someone else. Does that ring a bell? Thank you
No I dont have a video with rice paper but I do have video making custom napkins: ruclips.net/video/iYbe6L6WQ-o/видео.html
wowwww....
Great technique!
If you don't have napkins that you can use the backing sheets on, what can you use instead?
It seems you can read my mind (at a 5000 miles distance). When I watched a few of your projects about decoupage and napkins, I was wondering if it is somehow possible to make your own napkins with pictures and or text. And, voilá, your RUclips video has come already with the answer. Thanks for sharing the video.
Lol!! Isn’t that awesome 🌸 So much fun!
@@OurUpcycledLife But help, my colors run!!!
Have you ever gift bag tissue paper? I printed one of your graphics on tissue paper today. I taped it to a piece of copy paper, it came out really good. Color too. I also bought those same napkins from dollar tree but all white and i was just wondering about the creases so thanks for the video.
Yes I have and it works fantastic. It’s just a bit thicker than the one ply of napkins, so it will depend on what you’re going to put it on if you don’t want to see the edges.
Hi! May i ask if you can also print colored graphics using laser printer like the one you are using? Thanks
Yep you bet you can ❤️ thanks for watching
I have printed 2 napkins, worked ok...only once did it get stuck but the graphic was streaked. One question I have though... say I am transferring it to a coaster and the buyer wants to be able to wipe it down with a damp cloth in the future. Is that was polyacrylic is for? Will it help it be more water proof?
I like to use spray engine enamel
I'm wondering if you've ever used freezer paper to iron on to the napkin, cut to size, and run through your printer? I remember many years ago doing something crafty...can't remember what, lol...and running freezer paper through the printer. It worked. I don't know how difficult it would be to peel the napkin from the freezer paper, though.
Thanks for watching ❤️ no I have never tried the freer paper. I have printed on wax paper and the used like a iron on put it is really hot and miss
My printer prints with the top side up. I am not able to separate the napkin after printing
Can you use sublimation ink. I have b& w laser no inkjet
I have not used sublimation ink so I'm sure but a either ink or laser will work!
How do you keep the ink from running when you apply them onto something? The oven and hairspray?
Yes, exactly! Some will run and some wont so just do a test first before you start a project.
W hen using inkjet how do you use the hairspray?
Thanks for watching ❤️ here is a tutorial that will help you out ruclips.net/video/A4IELSc-grM/видео.html
if you use an ink jet printer will the colours run when you put the glue on or is the hairspray enough to seal it? thankyou
Every inkjet printer is different so you’ll just have to experiment usually hairspray is enough to seal it
Im a newbie decoupager. My question is when doing the iron on method how do you get the 2 dotted borders of the napkin to not show during ironing. It goes away if I do the saran wrap but not the iron on method.
Yes that is difficult unfortunately
WOW How fun. When you say to seal with hair spray when using a ink jet printer, do you mean spray before you decoupage or after. TYFS (Pauline S)
Thanks for watching! Give it a spray when it come out of printer 🌸
@@OurUpcycledLife Thank You
Can a wrinkled napkin page be stained using your coffee or tea method if it is done without a lot of liquid?
Thanks for watching ❤️ hmmm I have never done that but now you have me curious... I’m gonna try it!!!!
Question, why do you use napkins? I decoupage paper directly. Is it so it doesn't have as distinct of an edge?
Yes exactly 🌿 it blends really well into project ♥️Thanks for watching
If using an Inkjet printer do you seal with hairspray as soon as the graphic comes out of the printer?
Yes as soon as it comes out of the printer spray it with hairspray let it dry and then you can decoupage with it
Are you using a laser printer
I am only able to use an inkjet printer so what kind of spray you said to use to cover the napkin after it's been printed
Yes using a laser jet but will work with ink jet! Just give it a spritz of hairspray after printing to seal so ink wont run when applying.
Have you tried deli paper or tracing paper to make pseudo-napkins?
I find it is a bit a thick and doesn't have the same effect when applied to a project
Curious. What paper setting do you use? Also, have you tried the new mod podge spray to seal if you use an inkjet printer?
I LOVE your videos, and I know that I will get my projects right if the instructions are coming from you. :-) Thank you.
Thanks for watching ❤️ hope you find lots of great content 🌸 I just use the normal setting on my printer. I use my laser jet printer so don’t have to seal my ink so haven’t used that product but would probably work perfect on a ink jet print
@@OurUpcycledLife Welcome. Not just great content but VALUABLE content. :-) I will try the Mod Podge spray just in case. I don't have a laser printer (sad). I also want to print to transparent sticker paper and will experiment doing so on an inkjet. I am sure I will need to spray with something. :-) So much trial and error but that's how we all learn. GREAT CHANNEL.
@@tonybaloney9475 hi how did the mod spray work for you
@@vanessal9596 I have a small printing company down the street that prints all my stuff on a laserjet so I don't have to worry about runs or bleeding. :-)
@@vanessal9596 If you ever get to use the spray, pls let me know! Thanks
With my ink jet printer, the black does fine - but when there's color such as red, purple or bright colors, they run when you decoupage them, hair spray is not working, any help? Also, when you put a photo on wood with decoupage, do the colors run there also with ink jet printed picture?
Som ink jets are tricky and will just run. You could try spray poly acrylic sealer then decoupage amzn.to/3DMG126
Help! Parchment paper which side down? And tissue paper shiny side up or down. ?????
If it’s parchment paper either side is fine and when printing on tissue paper I usually only buy paper that isn’t shiny so you will just have to print and see what you like best ❤️
Hello! I love your videos but I have to ask this question but are these just regular dinner napkins you purchase at the dollar store? Plus they stay in tact through the printer? Thanks for your reply.
Thanks for watching ❤️ yes just regular napkins and will print when adheres to paper
@@OurUpcycledLife Thank you!
Is there a right way or wrong way of the napkin to print on?
No there isnt
Will Using an ink tank printer work as well?
If using an inkjet, the ink may run if you’re going to decoupage it so I would seal it up with some hairspray before you deposit on your project. If you only have a inkjet, you won’t need to if you’re using a laser printer.
Spritz pump hair spray or aerosol?
Either will work! Thanks for watching Amy!
Are these like regular napkins that you use for parties and for the house?
Yes this is just ordinary napkins
@@OurUpcycledLife wow that's beautiful
So you would need a laser printer for that?
Works best
I wonder if this would work on tissue paper?
Certainly will!! thanks for watching
How often do you put out your news letter?
Hi! We try to put out at least once a week, sometimes two :)
Any kind of printer or just a laser jet printer
This project you can use a ink jet printer!!!❤️ thanks for watching
what if i want to use old family pictures?
Use a photocopy
i don’t sear the link for the step to use theo l jet printer to put words. can you send me that
This video will help you out: ruclips.net/video/bGaioUJg-nc/видео.html
Do you reverse your image
No not for this technique
Have you tried with an ink jet? I tried your method and it got stuck😢
Yes, I do it with my Ink jet all the time but some printers are just overly sensitive. I have a really cheap ink jet printer that I only use in my craft room
Clever idea but what am I missing. Plain napkin plys attached to copy paper, placed in copy paper tray..is that correct ?? So where are the images placed in order to transfer them onto the blank napkin plys. 🤷♀️🤷♀️. What am I missing. I must be the only one that’s not getting it 🤔🤔🤔 sorry 😞.
Thanks for watching ❤️ you print directly on the napkin thru the printer then decoupage the napkin on project
@@OurUpcycledLife Thanks. I must have missed the part where you placed the napkin down onto your the face of your printer. I understand now. Thanks again
