Love this!! Another tip for achieving a more natural edge: After printing, instead of cutting out your design with scissors, dampen a small paintbrush with water and "paint" the water where you would cut. Then gently tear along those water lines. It will leave a ragged, thinned out edge.
Can I please come and spend a weekend with you??!!! Love everything you make. Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge. One question, are you using regular old plastic wrap? BTW I’m free any weekend 🤪
Thanks for the tutorial ❤ Question: Do you print in color with your laser printer?. I least see black and white projects, I'm wondering if the colors are going to come out fine or do they smear?. I only have inkjet, that's why I ask.
My LaserJet printer only prints with black ink. That’s what I used for this project but I have an inkjet printer that prints in colour and as long as you seal it with some hairspray, it should be OK to not smear for you when you’re using it for decoupaging ❤️ Thanks for watching. Hope it was helpful.
Loved this! So hard to find napkins locally and even a bit difficult to find online. Now to find some delicate floral patterns to buy digitally. Are you sure the hairspray trick will allow me to use the water technique without colours bleeding? If I were to use ModPodge instead of Poly Acrylic spray, should I wait for the napkin to dry completely (after applying with plastic sheet onto ModPodge)? Please don't rush to answer, I know how busy you are. I won't be doing the project in mind immediately.
I think it’s one of those projects that you just have to experiment with and see what will work for you you will definitely need to seal that napkin if you’re using an inkjet printer with either hairspray or a poly acrylic spray before you deposit or it will run on you
Love watching your videos! I always learn something new! Can you tellme do you know anything about using a sublimation printer? Just got one so Im wondering about the ink in them and if they would work or not, but cant find much info for this. Thankyou!!
No, you can also use an inkjet. Just make sure you’re selling it with a little bit of hairspray before you introduced the decoupage, or the ink may run.
What is the easiest way to get these napkins apart? I’m really having a hard time with that lol and also, if I do not have two sided tape, what else can I use to attach the napkin to the printer paper? Thank you.
I can put a little bit of glue stick on the ends of my two fingers president of the napkin. When you pull your fingers away, it will help separate that’s a little tip.
@@OurUpcycledLife thanks, what about if I don’t have any 2 sided tape to attach the napkin to the paper? What else can I use? I don’t have a glue stick
@@OurUpcycledLife how can I send you an email? I tried to join your email list but when I click on it it says the page isn’t available. I tried to tint a glass jar and Main did not come out anywhere near like yours. Does I wanted to send you pictures of it to see if you can tell me what I did wrong
So, do you LOAD the napkin face down???? I can't tell because both the paper and the napkin are WHITE. It comes out face down, but did you also load it face down???
Is it just me that sees wooden jars when looking at the baseboard pieces. If the decorative edge of the wood was painted silver it would look like the old lids on canning jars.

Excellent
Thanks
II think this method looks easier than some. I haven't heard anyone pronounce decoupage like you before.
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed.

I don’t have that type of printer, so sorry I can’t help you out
This is awesome. What kind of plastic sheet do you use?
I use a page protector but and plastic will work
👏👍👏
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed.
The parchment paper is used just to iron out the wrinkles, correct? Thank you
Yes, it is
Question: Can you do this same process on glass as you did to wood???
You can if you paint your glass first with chalk paint
Hi! have you ever tried tissue paper for this technique?
Yes, I have but it’s a bit too thick and doesn’t blend in that. Well, I find a napkin works the best.
Does it have to be a laser jet printer?
No, you can also use an inkjet. Just make sure you’re selling it with a little bit of hairspray before you introduced the decoupage, or the ink may run.

@@OurUpcycledLife it worked… I used mod podge around the edge of the paper and it actually worked. I’m so excited I finally did it lol.❤️

Can you use tissue paper instead of a napkin sheet?
If it’s a very thin piece of tissue paper, it will work, but if it’s thicker, you’ll see the outline of it
Can you use a picture and put it on the napkin???
Yes, you certainly can. Thanks for watching.
Could I use a ply of paper towel
That will be too thick. You have to use a very thin piece of napkin
So, do you LOAD the napkin face down???? I can't tell because both the paper and the napkin are WHITE. It comes out face down, but did you also load it face down???
Every printer is different to load you will just have to see how yours prints

Oh yes it probably definitely would I see it now. Hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
Don't get it... baseboards? I'm thinking on a wall near a floor.... Napkins? You mean napkins for when eating ?
Yes the baseboards on a wall near the floor and yes napkins for eating.
That does not look like plastic wrap we use here.
You said it was plastic wrap it looks much thicker and is not flimsy.
Hmm not sure this is our cling wrap in 🇨🇦
Thank you for your reply.
I will try using the plastic wrap that we have here.
What kind of plastic did you use?
