agree with the copper saying about driving drunk or heavily on drugs is dangerous to others, yes, but to even suggest weed in your system 5 days after smoking it would affect your driving is TOTAL, and utter bollocks.
@@mrlister2000 it does not affect you after around 6 hours after havining it after a day you are normal after 5 days you should not be arrested for it its a joke
Im a medical cannabis patient and literally lost my driving license yesterday due to it being in my system. I drive for a living and have lost my job as a result.Even though medical cannabis is permitted. The judge and prosecution aint even have a clue about medical cannabis. The treatment for cannabis in this country is a joke look at others like germany canada and so on. Ukgov exports tons and tons of cannabis but still classes it as a class b drug absolute joke
if you are on MEDCIAL cannabis like @thewatcher9323 says "you can fight it" it will be removed but if you took it without the hospital medical team "cannabis programe" and this is not a easy thing to get on the Hospital one which is the only offical one in the UK that will cover you for driving, then its bad to take it even if you need it.. I have loads of really bad pains everywhere in my body took me nearly 6 years to find out what was wrong with me, some days i can not even get out of bed without help from my wife helping, i have my bad days and good days, guess what i went for the Cannabis hospital programme and i was not ill enough to be on it ! Yes i did alot of seaching and found out Boots sells the same thing but reading into it "nope you not covered to use it and drive".. its crazy specialy when you never get the high from it Cannabis Oil.. So do not take it from anywhere that sells it unless you are in the offical hospital one...
UK laws are dumb. Marijuana loses all its affects after 4-6 hours. How you going to detain someone that smoked the previous night or a couple days ago?!?!? Stupidity. I feel horrible for that fella in the golf
It's getting harder to find people who are actually over the limit and impaired so they find new ways to 'prove' impairment. The laws are there to generate convictions and criminalise the public under the guise of safety. Like many other laws these days.
I can't believe this video to be honest. first of all a dramatized promotion for a police department, which is weird enough in itself, then he actually goes out with them and it's obvious they tested the lad in the golf just for the sake of the video. so he gets a ban on his license thanks to Mark. and Mark gets some nice content to put sad piano music over.
@@johnlow810I’m with you there. If he really wanted to “educate” people he should have told them all to get a script so they have a statutory defence against prosecution and can tell the pigs to go swivel.
Nice video mark certainly makes you think about reconsiderinv your decisions however brush your teeth and scrub tongue and have good nights rest .do same in the morning and if u feel it in your eyes don’t drive. Same for any wild night tbh
Exactly. Fifth gear did a cannabis driving test and demonstrated how much results change based on the user. One guy in the test did better stoned than sober lmao.
You wouldn’t be saying that if a drink/drug driver killed a family member. Traffic officers police the roads. If you don’t like it don’t drive simple as.
@@randomchannel5386oh shut up no one is angry about them going after drink drivers as they ACTUALLY cause crashes and heartache. They are impaired. Someone who smoked 3,2,1 days ago or even the morning isn’t. Hence why having a a prescription provides a statutory defence against prosecution. None of that for drink is there?
Devil's advocate here: The current tests for weed are flawed, they test for metabolites which are a signature that you've had it in your system, which is a retrospective affair. It's not an indicator of intoxication. As seen with Alex, you can be completely sober and safe to drive but because your body still has metabolites present you're classed as being intoxicated. I don't condone drug driving, but having been convicted days after smoking I can comfortably say that it's not as clear cut as "you have x in your system which means you're y". Cocaine users avoid detection after around 3 days but cannabis can be detected for up to 14 days in your blood, there's no way in hell that you're intoxicated or impaired after a 14 day cool off.
Not in Washington state they'll take your blood and measure it in if anything is over 5 ng you're screwed. Ask me how I know and if you ever want to know what 5 ng of weed is. Picture 1 g now divide that by 100 Divide that by 100 now divide that again by 100 its bull
No doubt when weed is eventually legalized, they'll change how they test for it too. It wont be a 'THC detection', but rather detecting a certain quantity in your system just the same as alcohol currently is.
100% agree. A spliff on the night will not leave you intoxicated the next day. Regular users can smoke all day and you’d never know they’ve smoked anything. I know from experience.
@@24alexash Well, we currently have legal weed and it's used as a defence in court. I don't know the conviction rates on medicinal (legal) vs recreational (illegal), but the fact that people do indeed get their case thrown out on that premise is a bit unsettling to me. The effects of a legal and an illegal spliff are no different, yet the courts give allowances to those who've gone the legal route.
They're testing for usage not impairment which are two totally different things, there's not a doctor or scientist alive that would claim anyone is impaired days after smoking weed.
Some countries have smarter policemen. Apparently the British and also the Polish police think that someone is still intoxicated after smoking weed the day before... Or 5 days before... It's all to show in their stats that they aren't useless so they can say: LOOK HOW MANY CRIMINALS WE'VE UNCOVERED!
Just revenue generating and the pigs dont care whose life they ruin. Its been proven there's absolutley no impairment after 8 hours even though it can be detected in your system for up to 3 weeks but if they put a limit on it they are basically saying its OK to take it. Decriminalise it or even better make it legal then put some proper sensible limits on place like other countries have. The tax and vat they could generate on weed in this country would be enormous.
This is so daft. Someone who has smoked the day before, let alone 5 days before, isn't more dangerous on the road than anyone else. Stupid law ruining the lives of good people

I lost my drivers license on a thursday morning on my way to the goddamn gym because i smoked weed on the sunday before that. 4 Days, 3 of those i went to the gym and got a good sweat in, still showed up positive as they test for THC-COOH, because 'THC' itself only lasts for a few hours in your Saliva, but the THC-COOH can show up (depending on how much bodyfat you have) up to 14 days later. They don't test for safety on the road, they test to fill their bags with your misery.
When you workout you burn fat which stores THC so I believe when they blood tested you that may have been why it came up positive. The working out would have made it more influentuial in your system, i think that may only apply to heavy smokers but its a thing to be aware about. I hope the wait for your license back isnt too bad 🙏

I would put a big bet on not one RTA involving a stoned driver out of any random selection of rta stats. This country is a joke
It's not the police you want to moan at... it's the lawmakers. They're doing the job they're asked to do. The law is passed and they're asked to enforce it. People complain when they don't do their job, then people like you complain when they do their job, so which is it? Can't have it both ways. Either you want it enforced or not, it can't be enforced only when it suits you and not enforced when it doesn't suit you.

In Bulgaria, you can smoke a joint and go for a drive 2 days after, and the drug test could still pick up on it, and your life will be ruined for the next 6-12 months, because that's how long it takes for a blood sample to be processed (there is only ONE approved laboratory in the whole country, that can conduct blood tests). During that time, you will be labelled a criminal, possibly fired from your job, have your car impounded, have your license taken, have relatives and friends think badly of you, and overall, have your life ruined. There was a guy, whose senior father died of a heart attack, because he was worrying too much that his son took the wrong path in life, his son also couldn't leave the country because of this. Police officers also refuse to undergo these same swab tests, yet it's standard practice for civilians. It's truly evil. I quit weed because of this, because if they make a swab test, and it comes back as positive, and then if the blood test comes back as positive as well, your car will be taken forever into the government's possession, if it's in your name. If it's in the name of a firm or business, you will need to pay a fine, amounting that of the value of the car....P.S Not to mention that these tests can react to medicine such as Nurofen, and many others, which most adults take in their daily lives (comes up as cocaine, fentanyl, THC etc.)
@@chriswynne448 Wow, great advice! Totally not a major risk of getting fucked even more, if the cop decides not to take the bribe and report this. The best you can do if you have smoked/are worried something may come up on the test, is to refuse it, and get slapped with a 1000-2000 Euro fine, and lose your license for a year. Still not ideal, considering the average citizen makes about 600-700 Euro a month, but hey, better than having your car confiscated in addition to getting fined.
I passed my driving test having smoked several spliffs beforehand... I also passed my class 2 license having smoked several spliffs... I no longer smoke the stuff but at the time I was smoking it everyday from morning till night and never once had any issue whatsoever 👌👍🤔
it does change your reaction times but having said that so does old age. more importantly though not everyone can safely drive while on cannabis so even if you could that doesn't give a free pass to the idiot drivers that think they are safe but drive badly while on weed there needs to be a better way to determine fitness to drive.
@@gges1605 I 100% agree with what you've said... There should be a "reaction" time test and an "awareness" test or something similar... If your fully aware and have good reactions you should be safe behind the wheel of a car... During war, pilots are often given amphetamines to keep them alert during long hours of fighting... If you're under the influence of that stuff whilst driving then you'd loose your license... All that really matters is if someone is safe to driver or not... There are a couple of drivers where I work that have young babies at home and they look absolutely knackered when I see them... Currently there is no test for tiredness 🤷♂️
@@FunLovingCriminal_JB Your logic is literally no different to the speed limit argument. Why does Mr smith, who is a class 1 advanced driver, who drives at high speed regularly, still have to do 60 in a 60, as does Mrs Miggins who drives once a month, is 78 years old and doesn't have much confidence or ability? It's a blanket rule, because otherwise they'd have to test each person seperately on a whole variety of roads to determine what speed they can safely drive on each type of road, it would then be ridiculously hard to enforce any speeding no matter how extreme.
Police are you not your friends!!!! Don't answer questions.( they are building a case on you) Don't consent to any search's or seizure's, including any tests or searches of your car! They can't do shit without reasonable suspicion!! So don't give it to them by giving up your rights so easily
Film them always. I wish I'd had access to a video recording device and internet when I had a brush with the smug, lying arm of the law but unfortunately it was in the 80s.
Refusing the test at the roadside will Result in prosecution for drink driving and you need a lot of money to fight it (the machine at the station doesn't count they just bin it even if it blows zero) had a friend who had it happen to Them because he didn't want to do the road side test for 20 minutes because he had a normal Smoke so wanted to take the 20 minute delay just to make sure it didn't give incorrect result
"Don't consent to searces or seizures".... neither of those require your consent. Might want to study the internet law degree you got again. They need reasonable grounds to suspect, they don't need consent to search you OR your vehicle in England or Wales where PACE exists. You sound like the sort of person that thinks you can get out of anything by saying "I don't consent".... funny how these people "don't consent" until it benefits them, then suddenly they do consent.
Thank you so much for watching this video. It’s not my business to tell people not to take drugs. But it’s very clear that a lot of people are driving round above the legal limit without having any idea. Hopefully with this information now it can stop people being arrested
Zero shot you actually got arrested. This was entirely staged in partnership with the police department. Maybe you did get arrested for real and your lawyers and judge had you make this video. Marijuana depending on tolerance has ZERO effect on how well you can drive. I personally have driven my car over 80,000 MILES THIS YEAR ALONE. ALL WHILST BEING “HIGH” on dispensary rosin and edibles. I have a condition called hyperhydrosis. Driving is one of the only things I cherish and enjoy in my life. My hands sweat a lot, they can easily slip on the wheel if I am not actively high. I am “high” more than I am sober, almost every hour of the day. I am used to the effects of THC and my brain and body have adapted to it so I do not become impaired, but rather enhanced. I can see clearer, my hands are dry and glide on the wheel seamlessly, I feel more in-touch with my car, the limits, and I’m more calm. I’ve avoided at least 20-60 accidents in my car this year that I do not believe most people would be able to get away from sober. I am not only able to drive just as safe as 99% of people sober, I am also able to push a car to the limits HIGH ON MARIJUANA in a track setting, balancing the car PERFECTLY in oversteer/ understeer conditions.
I’ve corrected more oversteer and pushed my car to the limits more than most professional race car drivers drive their cars THIS YEAR. The ONLY thing I do ALL day is drive my car while under the influence of marijuana. I do not have a job. I drive a Porsche 991.2 GT3 with a manual transmission with full titanium exhaust. Put 80,000 miles on it THIS YEAR. NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME MARIJUANA EFFECTS HOW YOU DRIVE. I have not only driven 80,000 miles in my GT3 this year (more than 97% of these cars have total in terms of milage). I have also tracked the car every other weekend while smoking full spectrum rosin and eating rosin infused edibles being one of the fastest people at my track CONSISTENTLY.
I don't think you really covered the point that the testing is flawed. There is no connection from testing to impairment. There is no basis in scientific fact used for these tests, it's merely a way to discourage drug use by ruining peoples lives, hence why these tests are not widely used in other countries
i did use pot for decades for pain management, i went through a whole list drugs nothing worked . pot 40% pain gone, tablets not had better than 10% pain gone till very recent so no option to use but id cut down when planning to drive for a few days and day before id give 24 hours and must have a sleep. ive been told the meds im on now normally given to end of life because they very bad for health so unfortunately i start all over again try a med what works . im on a controlled drug an a class and even if over the gov limit as long as it what the doctor told me to take the dose and im in safe control of car its legal but im still careful i wait a while after first dose day so first high / buzz wears off and if not tires / sleepy im ok to drive, the high far stronger than pot but pain reduction not close. this is the letter law im going from on the gov website , Prescription medicines morphine or opiate and opioid-based drugs, for example codeine, tramadol. a whole list other meds. You can drive after taking these drugs if: you’ve been prescribed them and followed advice on how to take them by a healthcare professional. and they are not causing you to be unfit to drive even if you’re above the specified limits so those the laws what apply to me now but now driving stress free as no pot in system and wipe dose not detect what drug the doctors gave me as the test for pot and cocaine, so now on controlled drug i can drive but i must monitor myself to make sure i stay safe. whats mad is a lower class b drug high risk of a ban even if you took a good amount time with non but what classed as a class i can. at least im not stressing now when out because only drive when safe too but stick to this bit law and they are not causing you to be unfit to drive even if you’re above the specified limits so those the laws driving is more enjoyable now even tho before i had no high when driving but now i do but cannot complain
Mark, this is an exceptional film. WELL DONE. I spent a lifetime dealing with the consequences of poor driving and live with the horrors of what I've seen.
Great video @MarkMcCann64 i had no idea weed was still detectable even 14 days later. Every parent should highlight this to their kids of driving age, as a moment of fun with pals could have dire consequences for their licence and lively hood. Keep up the great channel 👍
A test still doesn't mean you're safe to drive. People who get stopped with alcohol in their system, but are under the drink drive limit are still advised not to drive, because it's still a risk and as you know it's going to delay somewhat any reaction you have. Additionally if you are involved in an accident the fact you have consumed alcohol will also play a factor in any subsequent proceedings (whether over the limit or not). Also a lot of insurance policies specifically state they will NOT pay out for collisions where you are under the influence of drink or drugs, mine states this too. I had to make a claim on my policy only last week and I was asked this very question, and was also asked whether I was using my phone at the time of the collision.
This was such an educational video and a video I believe that people needed to see. You will and have saved lives because people will watch this and think twice before deiving in a car drunk or on drugs.
Someone (policeman) told me there are different levels of cannabis in the system which can be detected, there is an advanced test for this which is very expensive compared to the regular testing completed. This means many would, in effect, pass the test. The policeman even said it would halve the numbers of convicted drivers, which would reduce the revenue provided to the police by the government for drug driving. If this is true, it goes to show the process is commercially driven. On the other hand, it's very difficult to draw a line where the testing should and shouldn't be conducted, but it's clearly driven with a budget and return on investment in mind.
Nothing to do with revenue. I serve in the largest force in the UK. Almost no officers on team have drug wipes and ONLY traffic officers have them. We regularly stop suspected drug drivers but don't have a wipe, and traffic are rarely available to bring one down. The last time I saw one being used it was a sample taken and then placed into a large box with a small computer inside it, contained within a hard plastic case, it took several minutes and confirmed the offence. Apparently this bit of kit was very expensive but is more accurate than the small plastic wipes you see here. Oh, and money raised in fines from the police actually goes to the treasury, not the police. How the treasury then divvy it up each year is up to them. In my experience only a very small percentage of people stopped whereby they are suspected to be under the influence of drugs, actually get tested for it.
Great video Mark, your work around the criminality side of driving has to be applauded lately, a real eye opener! Not to mention these people drive our insurance costs up too.
Good Video, as a HGV driver I see some stuff on the roads. Keep up the good work. Thanks for allowing myself and my daughter to get a selfie at Silverstone.

Targeted? He chose to smoke it.... I don't know how you think he was "targeted".... ultimately cannabis is still illegal so if they can smell it wafting from your vehicle you're likely to get stopped. If you get stopped for any other reason and they smell it or you admit to using it then the outcome is likely to be the same - possibly tested for it. Next you'll be claiming it's "entrapment".

Typically, THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana, is detectable for up to 90 days in hair, anywhere between 1 day to a month or longer in urine (depending on how often the individual uses it), up to 24 hours in saliva, and up to 12 hours in blood.2 How Does Your Body Process THC? THC is absorbed into various body tissues and organs (e.g., the brain, heart, and in fat) or metabolized by the liver into 11-hydroxy-THC and carboxy-THC (metabolites). About 65% of cannabis gets excreted through feces and 20% leaves the body through urine.1 The rest is stored in the body. Over time, THC that is stored in body tissues is released back into the bloodstream, where it is eventually metabolized by the liver.1 In chronic marijuana users, THC builds up in fatty tissues faster than it can be eliminated, so THC can also show up on a drug test many days or even weeks after an individual uses it.4 From: Americans addiction center.
I've been smoking for like 6-7 years pretty much few times a day, every day, and I quit about 3 and a half months ago. Would that still be in my saliva and bloodstream you think? Keep in mind, I workout daily, sweat a lot, and generally have a fast metabolism.
It can still show positive, but there's no chance a user is still impaired 4 days later. The limit is set way too low, so people who aren't even impaired get stung.
@Titansilber.540i urine or hair would be the most likely to show positives, but even then you're outside the positive test for urine window by about 2 months on the low side. But hair varies. If you get it cut a lot and wash it a lot, it's probably out. Blood you're in the clear and saliva leaves about as fast. Unless you've lost a lot of weigh recently, which may affect things, but that also varies.
I lost my licence for 17 months after failing the roadside swab test! I hadn’t smoked for days at this point. 12 month ban for smoking and driving and another 5 months on top for having a passenger with me in the car (he was older than myself and a regular cannabis smoker himself who was aware I had smoked that week as it was with him) Due to where i lived at the time it affected my life massively leaving me with no ways of getting to work or even to get my weekly shopping. I agree with the system that smoking and driving is a serious and dangerous decision to make but as many have stated in these comments… nobody smokes and feels the effects 3 days later! Theses tests still need to be in place, however, it needs to be more accurate to when the the drug was consumed before they make convictions and essentially ruin peoples lives or massively disrupt it for a period of time. They had good intentions by creating this swab but the execution of how it works and plays part in convicting people is absolutely ridiculous.
@@mattfrancisofficial Don't actually need any reason legally. But usually there is one. Also the main issue isn't them enforcing it, it's people choosing to consume an illegal drug and then drive, whether that be 1 minute or 1 week later. If you want to use an illegal drug that's fine, but you can't expect sympathy when you get caught out. Nobody forced the cannabis into you, and nobody forced you to drive either.

I was caught drunk driving by the Police in France once. They knew I wouldn't pass the test. After a while checking my profile, potential past convictions etc... (they was none) they said : "We know you drunk too much and you won't pass the test so you will follow us to the next parking lot over there and sleep in your car, we will check during the night if you moved. I said Im walking ! and he replied I'm on shift till 06:00 (this was at 8pm) if your car has moved before I come off shift I'm coming to your house and we will do the breathalyser test at your home. What a decent copper. I shat myself and never drank drove again. I'm now 60 ad this happened when I was 28 years old. There are good coppers .... just the bad twats pisssed with power that get most officers a bad name. Drink driving is bad...really bad (cannabis not bad 1 day after consumption).... but officer discretion saved my career and reputation.
@@MongrelM I read you well. Personally I never drunk drive again either after that. People who smoke too much are too cautious and drive too slow. reason being, productivity is more impacted by cannabis than alcohol. Thank you for your reply
0 tolerance on even cannabis is so weird to me, I've smoke cannabis for 30 years, got my drivers license under the influence of cannabis, my exam was taken under influence and i got complimented on my reaction speed and competency. I was able to avoid an accident and was able to brake before the instructor. So i feel like they should do a competency test added to the drug test. 0 tolerance on cannabis is just to extreem in my opinion. Its also proven that the cannabis test is oversensitive, there is only one manufacturer and its a monopoly, strange things going on with that as well.

What an amazing video this is Mark! I don't judge people for wanting to use these kind of substances, but they really do need to think about things.
So a girl who I know was not only a dealer but also a user of heroin crack cocaine and cannabis multiple times daily. She talked her poor unsuspecting mum into letting her drive her car, insured but on a provisional. Her mother obviously didn't know about the drugs but let her use her car on the condition that she has someone besides her at all times who fits the criteria for driving with a provisional. One evening she decided to take mum's car and drive somewhere alone ( telling her mum that X person is coming with her so she is legal)). Unbeknownst to mum she had been paying someone to get in with her when she picked the car up and then dropping them off at home and driving alone with no L's. She'd been doing this for a few months but as you can guess in that lifestyle, there's a lot of animosity and she was either A... Grassed up or B an informer for the police. I say this because the evening in question she apparently passed a lot of police cars on the way to dropping her friend off and literally 100 yards after she was alone and illegal they swooped on her. She has mummies car impounded but strangely the test Mark had came up negative??? ( I guess it could be a faulty test but even then that's still bad). Makes you wonder... Also don't do drugs or drink and drive, imagine killing someone and having to live with it, never mind the hurt you are putting the family through!

I find that the THC tests are not accurate in the sense that THC is stored in the fatty cells of your body . That being said you will show a positive even when you have not had it in a long while and that’s not fair to some people who use it properly ie not while driving. In like alcohol after a short while it’s metabolized and won’t show up . And if that’s the case they deem it because it’s in your system and even after time it’s not affecting you so if that’s the case you should not take tynol or anything because that alters your state according to the government.
This HAS been the case for years, just many people are not smart enough to realise it. ANY drug, legal or not, can have consequences later down the line should you be involved in a collision, especially if it results in a serious injury or is fatal. The real deluded ones are the people who think it's acceptable to drive around dosed up on codeine or some other drug, and when they crash after falling asleep at the wheel go "It's not my fault, I'm taking medication". Of course it's your fault. You put the legal drug into your system, and you then made the decision to drive. In the same way that a drink driver makes the decision to drink and then get in their car and drive. People nowadays take no accountability for their own actions, make excuses and blame everything on everyone else.
That is so crazy. In America in most places, two hours after smoking , you are good. Sounds like there is zero cut off levels. Didnt think id ever say im glad i live in America, but her i am. 😊
If this was about drink driving I would not be commenting... but two days after a spliff?!? Nothing less the corrupt policing! They should saving life's by removing knifes off our street.... They should be helping citizens out by investigating reported crimes... For those who know know

More like enforced the laws they are asked to enforce. People complain when they don't do their jobs, then people want them to turn a blind eye and not do their jobs? Which is it? Do you want them to enforce the law or not? Where do you draw the line? Does a theft become an "acceptable crime" now? Should they just let it happen because Mr Smith on RUclips says it's not a good use of their time. Why should the police, only deal with crimes that YOU think are worth enforcing? Are you going to be the one stood there defending the officer at a misconduct hearing when they are about to lose their job, for NOT doing their job properly and being negligent? Should he allow a drink driver who was over the limit to simply drive off because you said so? I think you get my point. If you want it to change, you go and lobby the lawmakers. The officer here is doing what is expected of him, enforcing the traffic laws that exist.
Mark, Watching this video frightened the life out of me.Seeing this really made me think about how my life would be affected by losing my driving licence. My life would be ruined and I would lose everything. I been smoking cannabis on and off for 30 years. Having a few spliffs in the evening to chill and relax is something I look forward to everyday. I'd never have one if I knew I was going out and I'd never drive after I'd have one. The next morning I'd feel fine and drive to different job addresses. I need my tools everyday and could not manage if forced onto public transport. Just because my eyes look fine and my vehicle don't stink of week don't mean that police officer won't throw a random test at you. I would lose my license for sure. I've had a pretty rough time and pulled my life together and worked my arse off to save a deposit for my house . I got there and now happy and loving my life. To lose it all for a spliff would honestly put me in a bad place and I'm not sure if I could go on,after all I'd been through. I watched this video 5 days ago now and frightened me into throwing my weed down the toilet and not smoked since. A few sweaty nights and feeling lethargic for a week is a small price to pay while I wait for the cannabis to leave my system. Honestly Mark I feel your video could of saved my life And truly grateful to you and the police for making this feel so real. I want you to know you have saved at least 1 person by making this and you should feel proud. All the best to you sir. Massive respect to you.

what a great informative video, down to the point showing consequences and impact of drug driving. Please do more educational/informative videos like that
Worth mentioning, if someone is using for a health condition, they may be entitled to it on prescription. Also comes with the legal defense for being over the prescribed limit.
Good video Mark. Maybe you could do a similar one on the dangers of using your phone while driving. Seems there’s a generation who can’t put their phones down when behind the wheel.
I never knew it stays in your blood stream for so long till I saw it on a Police documentary once. Education is a MUST with this, as is getting the benefits of cannabis in medicine like the pain relief, and education of medicines you can buy.
The BBC did a documentary a few years back regarding cannabis and the length of time it was present in your body . The guy who was in the documentary was tested daily after quitting it was 30+ days before he tested negative for cannabis. Even third party inhalation of cannabis could show up in your blood stream/ urine sample . Great video

Uk laws are dumb, nothing new here
It's getting harder to find people who are actually over the limit and impaired so they find new ways to 'prove' impairment.
The laws are there to generate convictions and criminalise the public under the guise of safety.
Like many other laws these days.

Picture 1 g now divide that by 100
Divide that by 100 now divide that again by 100 its bull
Spot on
No doubt when weed is eventually legalized, they'll change how they test for it too.

It's not the police you want to moan at... it's the lawmakers. They're doing the job they're asked to do. The law is passed and they're asked to enforce it. People complain when they don't do their job, then people like you complain when they do their job, so which is it? Can't have it both ways. Being sucked off by your Mrs whilst driving can also be a bigger problem to 🙈
In Bulgaria, you can smoke a joint and go for a drive 2 days after, and the drug test could still pick up on it, and your life will be ruined for the next 6-12 months, because that's how long it takes for a blood sample to be processed (there is only ONE approved laboratory in the whole country, that can conduct blood tests).
Or you can just bribe the cops with a few euro when they ask for your licence
@@chriswynne448 Wow, great advice! Totally not a major risk of getting fucked even more, if the cop decides not to take the bribe and report this. The best you can do if you have smoked/are worried something may come up on the test, is to refuse it, and get slapped with a 1000-2000 Euro fine, and lose your license for a year. Still not ideal, considering the average citizen makes about 600-700 Euro a month, but hey, better than having your car confiscated in addition to getting fined.

it does change your reaction times but having said that so does old age. more importantly though not everyone can safely drive while on cannabis so even if you could that doesn't give a free pass to the idiot drivers that think they are safe but drive badly while on weed there needs to be a better way to determine fitness to drive.

I 100% agree with what you've said...

It's a blanket rule, because otherwise they'd have to test each person seperately on a whole variety of roads to determine what speed they can safely drive on each type of road, it would then be ridiculously hard to enforce any speeding no matter how extreme.

Police are you not your friends!!!!
Don't answer questions.( they are building a case on you)
Don't consent to any search's or seizure's, including any tests or searches of your car!
They can't do shit without reasonable suspicion!! So don't give it to them by giving up your rights so easily
Well said
Film them always.
I would but I'm black...
LOL, just your usual sensationalist horseshit.
i did use pot for decades for pain management, i went through a whole list drugs nothing worked . pot 40% pain gone, tablets not had better than 10% pain gone till very recent so no option to use but id cut down when planning to drive for a few days and day before id give 24 hours and must have a sleep. ive been told the meds im on now normally given to end of life because they very bad for health so unfortunately i start all over again try a med what works . im on a controlled drug an a class and even if over the gov limit as long as it what the doctor told me to take the dose and im in safe control of car its legal but im still careful i wait a while after first dose day so first high / buzz wears off and if not tires / sleepy im ok to drive, the high far stronger than pot but pain reduction not close. this is the letter law im going from on the gov website , Prescription medicines morphine or opiate and opioid-based drugs, for example codeine, tramadol. a whole list other meds.
WELL DONE. I spent a lifetime dealing with the consequences of poor driving and live with the horrors of what I've seen.
this is ridiculous of the U.K. it's inhumane to say the least, 5 days after consumption, you're putting him through all of this...
Great video @MarkMcCann64 i had no idea weed was still detectable even 14 days later. Every parent should highlight this to their kids of driving age, as a moment of fun with pals could have dire consequences for their licence and lively hood. Keep up the great channel 👍
Tests should be freely available for you to independently check yourself.
It’s just a blood test they do the limit is still rediculas lay low

What a load of horseshit that poor fella was targeted that day. That was very unfair!!!
Everybody's targeted by the police, they're not your friends

Thanks mate. Totally
Thank you Mark for raising awareness on this very important issue.
Typically, THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana, is detectable for up to 90 days in hair, anywhere between 1 day to a month or longer in urine (depending on how often the individual uses it), up to 24 hours in saliva, and up to 12 hours in blood.2
How Does Your Body Process THC?
THC is absorbed into various body tissues and organs (e.g., the brain, heart, and in fat) or metabolized by the liver into 11-hydroxy-THC and carboxy-THC (metabolites). About 65% of cannabis gets excreted through feces and 20% leaves the body through urine.1 The rest is stored in the body.
Over time, THC that is stored in body tissues is released back into the bloodstream, where it is eventually metabolized by the liver.1 In chronic marijuana users, THC builds up in fatty tissues faster than it can be eliminated, so THC can also show up on a drug test many days or even weeks after an individual uses it.4
From: Americans addiction center.
@@Titansilber.540iI would think you would be clear by now then bro
@Titansilber.540i urine or hair would be the most likely to show positives, but even then you're outside the positive test for urine window by about 2 months on the low side. But hair varies. If you get it cut a lot and wash it a lot, it's probably out. Blood you're in the clear and saliva leaves about as fast. Unless you've lost a lot of weigh recently, which may affect things, but that also varies.
@@Rev.Match.Reviews I see, thank you. Not worried about hair or urine, as the roadside tests are saliva swabs only, and then a blood test.
I lost my licence for 17 months after failing the roadside swab test! I hadn’t smoked for days at this point. 12 month ban for smoking and driving and another 5 months on top for having a passenger with me in the car (he was older than myself and a regular cannabis smoker himself who was aware I had smoked that week as it was with him)
Due to where i lived at the time it affected my life massively leaving me with no ways of getting to work or even to get my weekly shopping.
How come they pulled you in the first place?
@@Manos-de-Piedra Simply because they noticed 2 young lads in a car. “looking suspicious” was the reasoning they used.

This law needs to be reviewed
I’m 30 years young and still hoping for the day to see this plant not be taken so seriously.
Treat it the same as alcohol at least.

Mark,
Watching this video frightened the life out of me.Seeing this really made me think about how my life would be affected by losing my driving licence.
Honestly Mark I feel your video could of saved my life
And truly grateful to you and the police for making this feel so real.

Unreal video mark these types of videos you are doing are so interesting. The production levels are crazy 🎉
That's Methed Up.
Genius 😂
Another brilliant video, well done Mark🏴
You can smoke and drive in the uk if you have a medicinal cannabis prescription.
Good video Mark. Maybe you could do a similar one on the dangers of using your phone while driving. Seems there’s a generation who can’t put their phones down when behind the wheel.
Clickiest baitiest video of the year
Its for educational purposes mate
Mark u are the man always trying to help people 💪🏽
Don't rare this, weed does not cause crashes at all. Police are a joke
I never knew it stays in your blood stream for so long till I saw it on a Police documentary once. Education is a MUST with this, as is getting the benefits of cannabis in medicine like the pain relief, and education of medicines you can buy.
This is madness... genuine madness.
Guys life has been pulled apart for smoking several days ago??
Disbelief here
Hopefully knowing how long its stops in system will save a few more people from being in trouble
Great video
