As someone searching for an apartment in Toronto… no, you can not get something cheaper. $1900 is INSANELY cheap for an apartment that nice. 😭😭

Exactly... you are now looking at paying at least $1800 for a bachelor under 300 sq ft. Not in the downtown core.

Oh $1900 is like dirt cheap for Toronto. $1800-2000 for a studio/bachelor in a not great area like Jane and Finch

I live in a "bedroom community" an hour from Toronto and we pay $2450 PLUS utilities (& our rent hasn't gone up in the 3 years we've lived here, because we have an incredible landlord).

I live in New Jersey in the U.S. and I pay roughly $1650 including electric for rent. (About $2250 CAD) It’s very high for me as a single person and WAY more than I was paying for rent pre-pandemic, but low for what rent costs in this area now 🙁 Wild times. Appreciate this video! I love watching peoples budgeting videos and it’s nice to find someone who’s relatable. Also your cats are so beautiful!

Love your video, very insightful. Love your hair too! I live in Brampton and pay a rent of $2500 with utilities every month, though it is a basement and not an apartment. Love the food ideas too, would have liked for you to include more protein in your meals for better health, however. Keep up the amazing vlogs, cant wait to see you grow xo

I've recently started including a lot more protein in my diet and I feel a lot more clear headed because of it too! Love lentils and make protein oatmeal every morning. Maybe I'll make an updated video eventually or include more ideas in vlogs 💕

Prices are ridiculous for everything! Ottawa is almost as expensive as TO now! It's so crazy! Unless you want to live in the slums here, you are at least paying $1900 or more for rent for a one bedroom. A mortgage for a 3 bedroom can range anywhere from 600K to 1M. It's ridiculous! Anyhoo, love watching both your channels. Keep up the great work, kiddo!😊

Canada's prices and real-estate are INSANE. At least there's still some hope of owning a home in the US...

hey, i thought your video was interesting and sweet but in my opinion the beginning comes off a bit.. inaccurate? i dont want to say it's oblivious or ignorant but i can see how some people can see it like that. because, you started off your video saying 'it's possible to have somewhat of a budget and not spend a crazy amount of money' when your final amount is greater than the total monthly salary of a minimum wage worker (which means anyone earning more than that is going to have very very little in savings). it's cool that you have found your ways to save and be happy with the high costs here, it's just not realistic to say that this is not a 'crazy amount of money' because the cost of living is ultimately a huge problem and crisis in canada. it's a crazy amount of money because it's crazy to live in a country where the people that keep the country afloat can't even afford to live here without constant sacrifices

well her spending is also not the same as people who are earning minimum wage. they usually live in basement with roommates, get the cheapest phone plan, buy from cheaper grocery stores and don't eat out

Kaitlyn, I love your content, but your lifestyle is kind of expensive. I am making 7k per month before taxes as a social media manager, and I don’t buy luxury dog food , I make it by my own, I also don’t go to Starbucks or another coffee shops, because I invested in Breville coffee machine and just adding a syrup from Starbucks. The lifestyle we see in social media is not how real people live like. Verrry important to separate yourself mentally from it. Especially if you are not a millionaire. Because one day you would be broken. Just a friendly reminder to remember about healthy financial relationships, especially in Canada, especially in 2024

You don't need to be a millionaire to buy luxury dog food and coffee from cafes lol. I was dirt broke selling pussy in undergrad and even I got starbucks everyday like it's really not the expensive lifestyle you think it is
