I think that if they add any kind of fusion gimmick it will be something like "battle bond", where one of your pokemon helps the active pokemon in battle, giving him stats, a new move, taking hits or whatever.

I'm not sure what they could possibly do at this point but I've generally not been a fan of the gimmicks so I hope they do something to really shake things up. Tera types had a lot of potential but I'm finding them more annoying than anything else. Dynamax was cool more for competitive than it was for casual play throughs. Z Moves was a watered down Mega which thank goodness because Megan although a very cool idea was given to the Pokemon that needed it the least in most cases and at least Z moves could only be used once, with few exceptions. I'm looking for something like Gen V or prior looking foreword. It's going to sell so they don't need some fancy gimmick to get people to buy it.
In a similar vein to fusion, a cool idea for not necessarily a gimmick but a new mechanic would be crossbreeds/hybrids. Breeding two Pokemon together to create a completely new Pokemon that borrows traits from both parents and could either share their combined type or have a new type that makes sense based on their biology. For example, crossbreeding a Rapidash, a fire horse, and Mudsdale, a donkey covered in clay, to get a Rock-type mule wearing pottery as battle armor. To explain why this wasn't possible before, it could require one of the parents to be holding a special item like the incenses.
if i were gamefreak,i would probably create something called Reverse evolution,in which pokemon would gain their original forms.Example:We could see the original forms of the fossils or Dragapult before they became extinct. But a problem is the same as the mega evolution: it would be limited to specific pokemon.
Yes good point and they started introducing more regional forms and emphasising them after alt forms (mega evolutions) started being phased out , like Z-Moved which was accessible to all Pokémon. That being said I still would like a gimmick that even slightly changes the appearance of ALL Pokémon. Like surely they can work something out that won’t take a ridiculous amount of time. Think of with Pokemon camp / picnics and you throw a ball and they pick it up in their mouth. They let all Pokemon do that so it shouldn’t be too hard to attach/change details to all Pokemon when they change form
I think that is a great idea. They kind of did that with Legends and the new Paradox Pokemon but I would like to see a faithful recreation of these types of Pokemon with lore rooted in the past rather than some of the things we've gotten so far.
My thoughts exactly otherwise they wouldn't call them a Paradox. They would just be ancient (or future) versions of the Pokemon in question. Roaring Moon is the only one so far that I would say is accurate to the lore of Salamance.@@Reitiranossaurobanguela
I don't know enough about the TCG to make any direct suggestions but both regional variants and terra-types remind me of the old delta species cards. Makes me wonder what else is hidden in the TCG that could make its way to the main series games some day
tbh the only thing I can think gamefreak could do is to add the fusion of kyurem zecrom and rsheram and finally show us what the original dragon looks like or maybe they'll add new primal forms and origin forms but until we get some news of gen 10 we can only speculate on what will be the new gimmick.
If it were up to me, here is my idea for gen 10’s main battle mechanic: All Pokémon will be granted the ability to wield weapons. Each weapon is divided into different classes. Examples include: Melee (swords, pole arms, axes, mace, any weapon that deal blunt or slice attacks), artillery (cannons, arrows, slingshots, any weapon that shoots projectiles), mech (any vehicle capable of combat), magician (wands, scepters, can take on many forms), etc. the player will be able to activate this power at will. It comes in the form of a key that’s inserted into the pokeball. That’s needed to allow the player’s Pokémon to ignite the mechanic.
Considering mega evolution is back there might be the possibility of it staying for ever, but to continue this new gimmick thought experiment, for Gen 10 I think a cool idea would be fusions but instead of the Pokemon themselves it's actually move fusions. For example fusing Raszor Leaf and Fire Fang creates a grass and fire type attack, the damage it does is (55+65)/2 so 60 in this case the accuracy stays at 95% and it both has a high crit chance and can burn the opponent. Swords Dance and Close Combat would turn into 60 Base Power move which boosts your attack by one (or two) and also drops your defenses. Flamethrower and Liquidation would turn into a Fire and Water physical and special move with 85-90 power. It either uses the users higher stat or the targets lower defense. Though I can quickly see this become a balance nightmare. Like U-Turn + Giga Impact dealing alot of damage, switching you out and thus negating the skip of the next turn.
I still like my idea of “Inner Power” moves. They’re a fifth move slot that has limited PP and only specific moves can go there, but they either have more power or special effects.
@@jdthegoat888 - They’re not _quite_ that. For one thing, they’re not based on the type and they’re not a one use super like Z-Moves. Mainly I just wanted a way to make signature moves more viable, so that some Pokémon could be more useful and unique.

My idea was something like Mega Evolution for 1st stage Pokémon. The idea is your Pokémon could stay in its base form and still be competitive by temporarily evolving in battle. For example, Togepi might transform to become defensive with a design that keeps its thick eggshell or Surskit might turn into an ice skater.
It’ll be an armour thing that will either maximise your attack or defence. The charcadet line gave it away. Most probably upping your stats and functionality being like megas. Fusion moves... maybe. The animation could just be the animation for the first move selected and then some sort of elemental effect over it based on the type of the second move activated. Like a Bite and Ember fusion would play the animation for Bite but have a fire effect over it, basically looking like Fire Fang, but it would do both Dark and Fire damage at the same time.
You could do physical or special damage since in Gen 1. There were Physical damaging moves as there were Special. It's your wording that is confusing. Due to a lot of new moves being introduced, they were able to finally and accurately separate Physical moves from Special, instead of separating them by adding a bunch of Types to them, ie. Ghost moves for example were only physical. Also in Gen 2, Special stat was divided to what we know today: Special Attack and Special Defense. You missed out on that one unfortunetely! Good stuff nonetheless, friend.
All I can think of are stats and abilities... A gimmick that can 6+ raise a specific stat but each turn they will lose 2 stages. Call it Beast mode or something... A gimmick that gives a Pokemon brand new stand alone abilities that comes from the gimmick itself. Basically a "power-up" that exchanges the current ability with some "brand new broken abilities" that is only accessible WITHIN the gimmick. Pokémon with a signature ability would keep their signature ability though but they will still get the broken ability, so they will have 2 abilities instead. I hope I would be right or at least be close 🫤🤞
Petarmor. Peta from Petabyte and the root of Peta is Greek and is Pente meaning five. The next Region will be in Greece too so the only thing that makes sense is a 5th Move. Or: Abilities, Mega Evolution, Gigantamax, Z-Moves and Terastillization are the 5 gimmicks we got and for the Big 10th Generation for the Big 30th Anniversary they will be bring them all to one single Generation, with the flick of The R button. I say it would be a perfect time for a true Game Canon World Championship held in the Arenas of Greece with a Zeus like looking Statue looking on(They won't but One Can wish). I want a TOUGH Champion that uses or abuses Godlike Pokemon for their own advantage. Think Volo in a way but different. If we don't get a Villain Rival then give us a Rival that is kind of like a Vegeta from DBZ to our Goku in the player. A Rival that truly was your Rival until he finally realizes and comes to terms with his respect for you... No not Gary Motherf**King Oak either or Silver for they weren't at all like Vegeta. Okay Silver a tiny bit had some similarities but very little. Nemona? Lol pretty sure your little dude if you have one will seed that stalker soon enough and wind up inheriting a crap load of cash... definitely not her either. N is just a Zoroark... don't care to dispute it.
This is also much better, because just like before, you can come across a Pokemon with an exorbitant special defense, and all your super effective moves are special and you can’t do anything against this fat asshole. It’s also very stupid when one type of Pokemon is physical, and the other is special and one of the stats is crap below 60
What about the new forms? Gen 6: Mega form (also it's Gimmick) Gen 7: Regional forms (continuting) Gen 8: Gigantimax forms (Another gimmick form) Gen 9: Paradox forms. My idea for Gen 10 forms: Emotional forms. Based on Super Princess Peach's Vibes. Since the Mario Movie is sorta bleeding into the game continuity. Emotion forms change's a pokemon's type when Happy, Sad, angry, scared, disgusted. But wont be just. Fire or Fighting type when Angry, Water or Ghost type when sad, Fairy type when happy or flying type when scared or Poison type when desgusted
Hmm, that's kinda cool but it would make more sense in the anime than the games I think. The only way we could know is if we do the "camping" mechanic of the game which I personally always skip whenever possible, but I know some people really love it so it could be a way to get more players into it
I think guns would fit into a spin-Off game of pokémon and i think it's adult/Teenager rated while mainline is kid rated. (Guns are pointless in mainline games of pokemon. Do you understand?) And maybe a horror game and Pokemon spin-Offs that are rated all (1 game could be rated as scary and 1 happy)

Like a Bite and Ember fusion would play the animation for Bite but have a fire effect over it, basically looking like Fire Fang, but it would do both Dark and Fire damage at the same time.
Maybe the next gimmick would be turning your Pokémon into your player character`s Battle Armour.
And thus Gen 10 become Digimon Frontier lol.
Sounds very cringe to be honest
@@ediakin4993 Less cringe than fusion.
gen 2 divided special stat into sp.atk and sp.def, ain't that a mechanic?
Also Hold items where introduced in Gen 2 kinda a big deal
Like with what they did with megas in ORAS, I think with the potential Gen 5 remakes will have terastylization
oh that would be fire!!!
Nah the gen 10 gimmick
I think the new Kubrick for the battle region is gonna be fusion
You could do physical or special damage since in Gen 1. There were Physical damaging moves as there were Special. It's your wording that is confusing. Due to a lot of new moves being introduced, they were able to finally and accurately separate Physical moves from Special, instead of separating them by adding a bunch of Types to them, ie. Ghost moves for example were only physical.
Also in Gen 2, Special stat was divided to what we know today: Special Attack and Special Defense. You missed out on that one unfortunetely!
Good stuff nonetheless, friend.
here after pokemon day to say you right
Lolol
I’m sorry I just can’t imagine Pokemon without the Physical/Special split Platnuim was my first game
This is also much better, because just like before, you can come across a Pokemon with an exorbitant special defense, and all your super effective moves are special and you can’t do anything against this fat asshole. It’s also very stupid when one type of Pokemon is physical, and the other is special and one of the stats is crap below 60
Good, cause the ghost type was a PHYSICAL type before gen 4
Mega evolutions r back baby
Pokemon should take inspiration from FF7 Remake or digimon world 1 real time battle format
What about the new forms?
Gen 6: Mega form (also it's Gimmick)
Gen 7: Regional forms (continuting)
Gen 8: Gigantimax forms (Another gimmick form)
Gen 9: Paradox forms.
The only way we could know is if we do the "camping" mechanic of the game which I personally always skip whenever possible, but I know some people really love it so it could be a way to get more players into it
cant wait for gf to discover ai art...
Bro bro bro bro bro Pokémon Z XY they're getting the last letter in the alphabet we're getting Megas
Too many gimmick Gens in a row. They need to stop for some Gens.
Bro honestly I might be lame but give me my digimon mega back
I think guns would fit into a spin-Off game of pokémon and i think it's adult/Teenager rated while mainline is kid rated. (Guns are pointless in mainline games of pokemon. Do you understand?) And maybe a horror game and Pokemon spin-Offs that are rated all (1 game could be rated as scary and 1 happy)
And im all for it as well , broken!
I hated both dynamax and even more so teras evolution so this would be better
You hate dynamax for what? Kaiju pokemons good idea, much better than fusion ugly amalgamations
Here's what I was thinking. Having 2 abilities at once.
With the threat of pal world overshadowing them i can see them pushing something to try and flip the table and scriped thay realy should do legends ho-oh
Pal world is good game, but not treat to pokemon. they are on different platforms and in different genres. besides, I don’t like the theme of palworld because there is real violence against animals, and not in sporting interests.
