Thank you for sharing your experience with debt. It’s crazy how we are all in the same boat and yet we are ashamed to speak about it and learn from each other.
I'm ashamed of myself. I've gotten out of debt a few times in my life only to get right back in it. Currently $35K in debt thanks to some bad business decisions I made which I thought would be good at the time. Now I have to pay all this money back. I am hunkering down to do it. One good thing is that, with a business, you can write off all of your business debt interest at the end of the year. I use any tax refund to pay down the principal debt. Currently doing the 0% balance transfer dance. Please pray that I never get back in debt again when this is all over.
Thank you so much. I was raised with money and up until I was 60 years old, I was a multi-millionaire. Then came COVID. The market brought me to my knees but my lifestyle still stayed lavish. I am learning. I remodeled my 2-bedroom basement apartment and now I get $2,250 per month for that plus $1,000 for SSI - how they expect you to survive on that is horrifying. Age and being broke sneaks up on you. Plan ahead for retirement! You have been very helpful! Thank you.
I have a shopping problem, but I know it stems from my poor impulse control. I struggle in other aspects of my life too. I’m tired of the anxiety my debt is giving me. It’s embarrassing. This video has made me go through any subscriptions I don’t need. I deleted all my shopping apps, doordash, and even my target app 😭 😂 I’m ready to get rid of this debt. I may even take a part time job for a while on top of my full time just to make it faster.
Im curious when you took the aggressive approach, how did it impact your credit score? Because this past week, I payed my auto loan in full and it went down 59 points, will it grow back up?
