I've been in the 2% for 15 years, but I need to do even better! I aspire to regain the discipline to live without needing a credit card and be free from debt. I am determined to achieve financial independence through the grace of God and the lessons I learned from the Dave Ramsey FPU. I aim to live a life free from the burden of credit and debt.
Biggest issue I’ve had with my credit card was helping family members out that were in a bind. I relieved them of the debt only for them to go create more debt. What made me stop was I helped one family member with their rent only for them to be evicted a few months later, and another family member with their electricity bill only for them to not be able to live there anymore.
The truth is by the time a person is behind on bills. The best help you could give them is a place to stay for free or steps to take to reduce their monthly expenses because unfortunately, unless they’re going to maximize their income quickly, the proof is in the pudding and it’s already over for them.
I wanna be debt free so I can have a peace of mind, discipline and strategy on how to handle my finances correctly and be able to handle my money correctly and responsible. I can’t train my son to do something I can’t. That’s bad parenting..so with the right help and advise I can win👌🏽
I admit that I have a problem. I want to pay off all my bills. It is extremely stressful. I paid off 2 cards and have 4 more to go. I'm starting the snowball effect.
I'm a student and I do too. I'm almost done with school and I'm claiming my next place of employment now. Before I started school I used to pay my credit card off monthly. But I know The Lord is going to bless me with a high paying job and I won't have to use my cards anymore. Honestly, some of it is mismanagement. But I'm paying tuition out of pocket and working part time and an overnight job to stay afloat. I see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks for this Anthony! I’m actually in the process of pulling out from an investment account just to pay off some cc debt before we close on our home.
I aim to regain the discipline to live without relying on a credit card and to be free from debt despite being in the 2% for over 15 years. I can do better, as I was debt-free until the pandemic hit. Out of fear, I made some wrong investments, but I am determined to achieve financial independence through the grace of God!
I’m low-key embarrassed now. I owe on 3 more cards with balances over $1k each 2 of the 3. But we literally will whip out that card quick. When I saw that lady whip out a credit card to pay for a McFlurry I said we out here spending recklessly smh.
Not always. If u use it correctly u can use it appropriately and earn rewards for travel. My relative and his wife went to paris and greece expenses paid and first class because he uses his credit card to earn points to travel. He is a chartered financial advisor makes excellent money. His friend took his family of 4 to amsterdam and met them to greece all expenses paid. Took them 2 years using their cards but… they didnt pay for their vacations. Only food. Plenty youtube videos on this. Its not a well known skill set i suppose though..
You’re suppose to let your money in your bank account stack up from your direct deposits from your job . Then use your credit cards to make your every day purchases instead of your debit card.. when it’s time to make your card payment, you should have the money to pay the card off because you weren’t touching your physical money in the bank account.. that’s what you’re supposed to do when using a credit card.. but a lot of people use both , which is how they end up in card debt
I enjoyed the show and the gems given about getting out of credit card debt. I have two small cards left and 4 in collections that I plan to tackle after I pay off my furniture and personal loan so I'll have the extra money from those payments to go towards the rest.
Thanks im in the 2%. I use my cc for absolutely everything. The key point is to use it if you have the money in your checking account and dont over spend. I love cc!!!!
@@dionnelewis9141 Balance should be zero by due date then use should be at the by statement date people get these confused is to why their credit is dropping or they are paying interest.
this is certainly an American culture type thing, cause in Europe I haven’t seen this that much! It seems so easy for US banks to provide people with credit cards knowing full well, they can’t pay back
@bkandy7165 I have received offers before, but my husband says it's a scam. And literally, no one else I know has done that, so they can't say. But will it hurt my credit really bad or anything? I know nothing about that stuff, and I don't want to ask the people who are trying to sell me on it.

24:14 Man this is almost similar to what I’m doing. I owe $8800 on my car but it’s worth $15K. I’m about to sell it and save/invest the remaining once I pay off the loan. I can afford the payment & i love the car but i’m just tired of having a car note.
If you are responsible then you can definitely benefit from using credit cards. They are not for going on shopping spree and spending money you do not have............
All my credit cards got high limits and these Cards make me money i only use it to multiple the money i use from the cards and no it don't be left with a balance and them Cards definitely staying
I know I'm not amongst the 2%, but w/o a credit score, you can't get anything now. I don't make $16 an hour & finding something else is a major problem w/o driving abilities (diabetic). I'm glad that you're able to do this, but I don't think it will help my case.

So your family doesn't have to scrape up money trying to bury you. It's selfish IMO for people not to have life insurance because when you die someone has to be responsible for burial and possibly paying off any outstanding debt you may have.
You get life insurance when you're younger cause the rates are cheaper. You also get it when you're younger cause you might not qualify for it when you are older or when you have a family/dependents who depend on you. Never know if you could get diagnosed with cancer or something that might make you ineligible for the coverage.
I’m tired of giving other people my money and having the stress of constantly having a bill due weekly. Paid off two debts and still have 15 to go.
🙏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Don't give up! You can do it
Just wrote the vision and made it plain, with debt snowball …. I’m debt free by August 2025! $55k paid off. I see the end in sight. So excited 🎉
I use my 2 credit cards for needs and fully pay them off monthly. I use my debit card for wants/needs. I ask God to help me remain content
That is really good. Most people spend more when they use credit cards
