    Huge lump in my throat watching this... massive respect to Ken and Carcass. So good to see Ken behind the kit. It really doesn't matter about his ability now. That's not the point. It's the fact that he was there, playing. Thank you Carcass and thank you Ken. Love to you all.

    Massive respect, it doesn't get more metal than this. This man's own brain tried to kill him, and he has the guts and tenacity to fight back and succeed. I wish I was half as talented and tough as this man.

      That is true.
      He also wrote the majority of their lyrics. I watched a docu about the band from a newer date and thankfully Ken’s health seemed to have improved a great deal:)
      You’ll find it, it’s a 5 or 6 part docu here on YT, but i can’t remember the name..

      carcass always had sick drum parts too, they always fit well with the guitar parts and were more than just straight stank and blast beats all the time. Surprisingly groovy at times for a goregrind band lol. It's also insane how much they all improved over their careers.

    his drumming was amazing on Heartwork, it's on record now, and we can all keep coming back to those awesome rhtyhm patterns, his drumming was not for nothing, it will last for ages now!

    He suffered an aneurysm and he got back from it!Huge respect for this "metal monster"!A great drummer and a great composer. It's one of this times that you don't care what he is doing..You just enjoying seeing him!He earned it and it's very rare..

    I want to cry, this guy is one of the best drummers alive, without him, Necroticism would never had been the huge legend/master piece that is today. Long life to Ken, a true god of Metal.

      Agreed. The whole album sounded like an industrial slaughter process & the drums were so brutal & metallic that it shaped the entire album into the classic that it is. I don't give a fuck what anyone says, Necroticism is the greatest metal album of all time. We're right & if anyone disagrees they're wrong. Simple as that.

    Breaks my heart to see such a legend like that, I adore carcass for continuing to keep him in there live interviews and have him do drum solos , it just means they love him and still want him to be part of the show and that’s so heart warming .

      Carcass are not and never have been Scousers. Not one member of Carcass has ever originated from Liverpool. Jeff is from St Helens or thereabouts - hence the bizarre accent, Bill is from Heswall, Wirral and Ken is from Gayton, Wirral too.

    Ken was the fastest drummer on his generation. Nobody could play that awesone a very fast drums parts. All my respects for Carcass and his great tribute to one of the best death/grind drummers in history.

    Always get a bit teary-eyed watching this. The man helped define the sound of two metal genres and it was taken away from him. Awesome gesture by the Carcass dudes. Like Jeff said, they wouldn't be where they are without Ken and I'm sure he still means a great deal to them on a personal level.

      True, even on heavy ones like 'reek of...' or 'exume to...', he plays in pure harmony with the guitar arrangements, some parts even sound like classical music...
      Bolt thrower also have reached that level of harmony in musics like 'unleashed upon...', or 'destructive infinity' and others...

    This made me cry, so glad I saw them on the Necroticism Tour. Ken was the first one on stage shooting water guns at his drum techs. Much respect for you Mr. Owen!!!! Carcass is the best metal band of ALL-TIME!!!!

    It's so good to see him back on his feet and retracing his footsteps to drums. Good effort Ken, you're always a legend, I can't forget your champion work on Reek, Symphonies, Necroticism and Heartwork. I nearly wept, God bless you Ken!

    One thing that sticks out too me with Ken is even years after his surgery one of his signatures being the sudden change into tempo that tricks you up and you'll never be able to anticipate what he does next. One of the best drummers in metal!

    First thing that made me cry in over 2 years. Ken Owen! We will never forget you! You have been one of the main influencers on my drumming. I don't believe in god, but maybe you do: God bless you, man! Your drumming is still influencing thousands of Grind Core and Death Metal drummers and it will always be that way!     The heart of the Heartwork machine, Carcass. He wrote so many riffs that made this band sound unique in the SoS/Necroticism era. Huge respect for what he's recovering from and for long may he live!

    Saw them on the CAMPAIGN FOR MUSICAL DESTRUCTION TOUR with BRUTAL TRUTH,CATHEDRAL, AND NAPALM IN CHICAGO 1992 AT THE VIC...WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO MEET CARCASS AND NAPALM BEFORE THE SHOW..STELLAR DUDES... I HAVE NEVER, AND WILL NEVER SEE A MORE INTENSE DRUMMER LIVE. THE MEMORY OF HIS SHEER FEROCITY IS BURNED INTO MY HEAD FOREVER.BEST TO KEN!!!

    Damn! If you see Ken on the interviews you can see how severely all those unfortunate accidents affected his motor capabilities. And then he still can pull out this behind the kit???? This is how you really know drums became almost an extension of himself and the guy is a top notch musician. I'm absolutely dazzled.

    So sad that he's no longer even a shadow of the beast he used to be behind a drum kit, but it's wonderful the band did this for him and great how the crowd cheered him on and showed him respect. Surely meant a lot to him.

    Ken fue un gran baterista uno de los mejores del Death metal, aunque ahora no es capaz de tocar con Carcass debido a una hemorragia cerebral que sufrió a fines de los 90s.

    No había visto este video y me produjo una gran nostalgia ya que yo lo vi en vivo en 1990 en México.     Since the early 90's, Ken Owen was and still is one of my biggest influences. His style set the heavy drum standard early on in my percussion development and i then began comparing all other drummers to his advanced playing. imo, the only ones that came close were Gene Hoglan and Sean Reinert.

    Man . . . this is way too touching for my metal heart . . . deep respect!
    Truth is, I went looking for the intro lyrics of Carneous Cacoffiny because I wondered if the rumors about those being from an actual physician/doctor. My friends thought that Ken was a med student once, but I all took this with a grain of salt.
    I still have no answer, so today I thought: what the hell, I'll ask ChatGPT (also not very metal, or is it?). No answers still. But what ChatGPT rendered was about what Ken went through in 1999 (I didn't know) and to watch this video!

    It hurts me to see Ken like this. I had no idea he was in this bad of shape. To hear the first Carcass albums and to hear him hardly be able to keep time now breaks my heart. God bless Bill and Jeff for inviting him up on stage to do this. I'm sure it meant the whole world to him at that moment.
