- Toyota's US marketing department is very interested in telling us that the 4AG is replacing the Cosworths. Scott Goodyear shows up for half a minute. Steve Shelton and other Club Racers try to get up front in a concrete canyon, and Matsushita Hiro makes a few laps without hitting anything. And what's up with Tom Gloy doing commentary instead of driving something?!?
This so so cool to see. Jocko is my uncle, and i wasnt able to follow his career since i was too young but seeing this is just awesome.
What a great race/event/series! Thanks for the upload! 34 cars, amazing....
Hi! Great video, thank you for uploading it for us to watch. Do you know where I can get a hold of the whole 1989 season on video for my buddy Jocko? Regards!
I want to show this race to the U.S. President ‼
I know this is going to sound like a extreme stretch, but do you happen to have the CART ARS race from this same weekend? I'm only asking B/C that was the first time that Indy Lights (as it came to be called) ever ran at Long Beach, and I have been looking for that particular race for a while.
Randall, I really don't know. IIRC, most of the 'support race' stuff I have is on the leftover space on the CART events I recorded. And I haven't found my CART stash yet. I'll certainly keep an eye out for it, I'd actually be interested in comparing ARS and Atlantic lap times! I don't think I'd ever realized there was a place where *both* series ran in the same year!

Wow! King Hiro!
Yeah, Hiro was great in Atlantic series, but always pulled up the rear when he moved on to the big time.
