  • Toyota's US marketing department is very interested in telling us that the 4AG is replacing the Cosworths. Scott Goodyear shows up for half a minute. Steve Shelton and other Club Racers try to get up front in a concrete canyon, and Matsushita Hiro makes a few laps without hitting anything. And what's up with Tom Gloy doing commentary instead of driving something?!?

Hi! Great video, thank you for uploading it for us to watch. Do you know where I can get a hold of the whole 1989 season on video for my buddy Jocko? Regards!

I know this is going to sound like a extreme stretch, but do you happen to have the CART ARS race from this same weekend? I'm only asking B/C that was the first time that Indy Lights (as it came to be called) ever ran at Long Beach, and I have been looking for that particular race for a while.

Randall, I really don't know. IIRC, most of the 'support race' stuff I have is on the leftover space on the CART events I recorded. And I haven't found my CART stash yet. I'll certainly keep an eye out for it, I'd actually be interested in comparing ARS and Atlantic lap times! I don't think I'd ever realized there was a place where *both* series ran in the same year!

Yeah, Hiro was great in Atlantic series, but always pulled up the rear when he moved on to the big time.
