I never go up inside of a lorry turning left. When artic turning right and entering roundabout, hold back to keep clear of the trailer wheels, makes it easier for the driver. Always give them room.
I tend to give lorries a wide berth especially if they are straddling lanes. Sometimes I get honked at by knobs behind who would like me to undertake and get squished.
I am struggling at the moment with road position on my lessons , sometimes I’m fine the all off a sudden I just lose all focus highly frustrating 🤷🏻♂️
Whitletts Rd, I know it very well. As soon as you pulled out I recognised it. And it must have been Sunday because of the cars parked beyond the McDs to the right of Tesco
@@ChattingWithMeHGV Ah ok. The space beyond the McDs belongs to the racecourse, they host a car boot sale on sundays so I assumed that's why cars were parked there
How long does it take for "the penny to drop" for car drivers who never drive a large truck? The real issue is the size of trucks now, which use roads not built for vehicles that big. It is not the fault of car or truck drvers, but of the legislators who allow large trucks to use small roads.
Juat some thing you said earlier in the video, you identified a hazard and said signal on mirrors. As you know should be the other way round as stated later in the same video. Relevant stuff though
@seanlaverty40 I have heard about that sort of thing yeah. But I am not an advanced driver tho. I only started doing these kind of videos to try and be different from every other truck vlogger out there who just all seem to do the exact same style of videos. I film everything in real time and have no fancy editing etc etc. What you see is what you get, and I just say what I am seing and reacting too, etc etc. It seems to be working for me so far so good on RUclips.

No it’s not! 2 hands on the steering wheel at all times preferably 10-2 formation, and passing the steering wheel threw your hands, you’re not allowed to cross your arms over either, only in reversing you can steer how your like! I passed my hgv class 2 6 weeks ago so am pretty fresh from it
@@Drewski28622 Good to know, thanks got my Class 2 test in a few weeks! I did read somewhere though it's sometimes impossible not to cross hands on very tight turns when driving a large vehicle, no idea if that's true or not.
@@ZippyPenguinTribute nah if you’ve planned right and approached the tight bends or corners with pre caution you can get round, without crossing it’s all about positioning and thinking ahead, slow and steady will get you a pass, just take your time and don’t worry about the idiots sat behind you trying to rush you
Worst thing for me is when you wait for a gap to clear a yellow box and some bar steward from the next lane cuts into it when you have already committed and makes you look like a tool. It is the most cnutish thing anyone can do!!!
The penny doesn't drop for the car drivers.

Brilliant, agree totally but now I take all the lanes even in my car!

No it was this afternoon. I will upload the full video tomorrow, as I don't give away my night out location on the same day

Where is that
Ayr in southwest Scotland

And how do you think your weekly groceries get to the store?? Or do you want everything to be delivered in a small van????

Hahahaha. Cheers for that
You should be a driving instructor mate, experience and a good delivery would be very helpful for newbie drivers.
Bless you, that's very kind
Do you always commentate your driving on the road, or is it just for the channel?
Well what do you think, given that the camera is rolling ?
Did you know, it's a necessary part of advanced driving courses such as response trained police officers undertake.

@@seanlaverty40Ahhh right ok. Well thank you, I will take that as a compliment then.
Is it OK for you to turn the wheel like that in the test?genuinely want to know because that's how I want to steer
Ask your instructor what is required to pass the test, once you have your license you can steer however you like.

Once you pass your test you can steer how you want to! I have a knob on the steering wheel to make turning easier.

It's being called a good driver so many nobs on the road
I agree with @derektomlinson2521, reckon you would make a top instructor.
