This story really shows how meaningful a tattoo is for his owner and for the artist painting it indeed, and seeing Rikiya prove himself to Utabori was pretty great, he truly does live up to the ink on his back!
Rikiya is quite the amazing supporting character. From beating him up earlier on to being his best bro, he's definitely someone I'm rooting for now. Question: what is the Zero Jewel used for?
Rikiya's character arc is amazing, he grows so much over the course of the game to be a real bro to Kiryu! And the Zero Jewel is a "cheat item" used to skew results in Roulette, using it at the right time can help make some sweet cash. :)

One thing I love about the Yakuza games are the tattoos and the meaning behind each of them, so this was really a treat

Completed this mission after the story to pretend that Rikiya was just in a coma.
It wouldn't be the first time a character survives what seems like a very definitive death, after all!

i wasnt too much of a big fan of yakuza 3, but god damn rikiya makes it a whole lot more fun, the morning glory part were also good
The game has great story moments, yeah, and Rikiya's relationship with Kiryu is definitely one of the highlights of it.
Rikiya is 2nd useful Ally NPC on free roam aside from Kaoru and Date
It's nice to hang out with people who make things more fun and give a hand in fights!

Well, it depends on if we count those who died, I guess, he did have a lot, but also lost a lot!

Lots of it, 3 of them died (Nishiki, Rikiya and Shinji) as most are still alive (Tagashira, Matsunaga, Nagumo and Yuta)

Figured it out. Gotta go back to new serena and you'll have the option to talk to Rikiya. Tell him you're done sightseeing and then you can progress.
