Kiryu feels like someone who actually has emotions too I thought that aspect was nice considering he's kinda shown to be stonefaced badass for most of the gsmes before iirc
Kiryu is a really great dad, even when it's noticeably hard to be a single dad to an orphanage of nine kids. Only ever played Zero, but i'm getting the rest of the series. At least eventually.
To be fair Kiryu was originally intended to be Haruka's father since Yumi was his love interest since the beginning and if Kiryu didn't go to jail, He would have married her. But instead Yumi got hooked up with Jingu for strange reasons. Jingu was never Haruka's true father

Holy fucking shit the story is really fuckin good, the combat threw me off at first at how it ignores the common rule of "if the enemy is down they can't hit you and you can't hit them" but other than that this has been a lot of fun
Basically he shoved the chairman seat to Terada and Daijo, then goes to Okinawa to open an orphanage with Haruka. You can obviously guess that that doesn’t go very smoothly when Kiryu is a legendary yakuza and it has very very long lasting impacts on both him and his orphanage

Beside Yumi, I don't think there's anyone else is Kiryu's life that he'd call perfect as spouse material... except maybe Goro Majima but that's another section of the internet that I'm not talking about. Kiryu's an ideal rolemodel for the kids, and, I'm glad they have someone like him in their lives to make sure they end up being good people. Inb4 Like a Dragon 9 has Taichi as the protagonist and you Tigerdropping over Kiryu's grave. If Kiryu ends up dead by the end of Like a Dragon 8, I'm sorry for the spoilers.
The Amount of crazy stuff that’s happens throughout the Yukuza series this seems like Break Kiryu needed any specially more looking at how much he loves his family it hurts more seeing Kiryu cry in like a Dragon Gaiden.
Damn, I wanted to see this again with Kiryu with Haruka, then the other 4 brothers that stay with Kiryu all the time in Yakuza 6 also definitely HARUTOOOOOO. It would be the best family reunion moments
I gonna give Yakuza 3 something, the way they made Kiryu here, it feels so much like he has Mature and actually makes me feel that he cares for his orphanage and kids. I feel they could had made Kaoru part of this too, maybe visiting Kiryu after finding about CIA involtment or someshit. I wish Yakuza 3 had putten Kiryu story to an end, it may not have a good gameplay but the story gives a good finale to Kiryu... Then Yakuza 4,5,6, Gaiden,7,8 happend and well, it sorta extended.

I dont get why people call out the part 3 for being a black sheep of the series I would save that spot for 7 and inf wealth I dont feel so nicely when the franchise turns from snappy and crunch beat em up genre to being a turn base 3 and 6 now are my fav of the whole franchise along with 0 with baka mitai lmao I wish 3 have a remastered to see morning glory in all of it glory

Yakuza 3 just feels so homely and wholesome, may not have the best combat, or plot, but seeing Kiryu being happy with the kids is enough.

The scene with izumi and kiryu on the beach always makes me cry its such a tender and sweet scene it really shows just how kind and loving kiryu is
