Let's not even talk about when they split service... You think you're set and then 2 stops in, you have to transfer to ANOTHER G across the platform. The pain is real.
Truth. All of it. Lifelong G user here. Good vid, although you should have come to the Broadway stop heading towards Queens, where the train stops HALFWAY DOWN THE PLATFORM where there are no entrances, and woe betide the people who come down the only flights of stairs (located at the back of the platform) once the train's already there. Can't tell you how many people run down the platform to have the doors close in their faces!
Hey! Yeah we wanted to hit up many more stops, but turns out you can potentially get into trouble for shooting on the subway in NYC, so we had to hop around pretty quickly wherever was most convenient for actors and crew to meet :)
Audrey Stanfield It's completely legal to shoot in the subways as long as you don't have any ancillary equipment: bounce card, lights, tripod. So if it's just a camera op with a camera it's legit.
Michael Tapp I had a couple of run-ins with officers at the Lorimer stop telling me I couldn't shoot period. I just obliged and went to Nassau. It's unfortunate that there was basically no argument to be had. I tried letting them know we weren't shooting on a tripod, and it would only be briefly, but alas.
The only thing missing is a shot of someone peering down the tracks in the direction of the missed train, as the taillights of the G train drift further and further into the distance....
i take the g train everyday and this is how i feel almost half the time FUCKING ON POINT especially the girl with her middle fingers up in the air most of the video (thats totally me)
Constructive criticism time. You should have used slow motion in camera, as in, bump up the frame rate. When you slow it down in an editing program, it makes it look terrible. Also you missed out on a great opportunity to portray one of the worse aspects of of the the G train: the train being too short. Usually just missing the G means running halfway down the platform to make it. You had a nice idea, poor execution.
Not even close. Try riding the C train. The G train gets all the attention because spoiled white 20something hipsters refuse to stop concentrating in Williamsburg and whine about it incessantly. Go east, fedora wearing assholes. Nassau County awaits.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs The G is annoying because (1) the trains are short, (2) the waits between trains are long, and (3) there are very few transfers to other trains. On the few occasions I've ridden it (I live nowhere near it), I have found it a miserable experience. The C is quite pleasant by comparison.
Dan Schwartz The G runs more frequently than the C and the G is short because that's what ridership demand allows for. You have IND trunk lines at either end of the line (Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Court Sq). The G line was designed to be a feeder line which never enters Manhattan. Stop whining about that. If you don't like it, MOVE ELSEWHERE.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs Ok, point made. The C sucks massively too, but I guess I just hate the G more because I have to deal with it more, even though I live out in Bushwick. That comment was funny as hell though, so thumbs up.
The G train is a piece of shit and has been so for years. So people moving into certain neighborhoods should have already known that and made better plans on where to live.
Funny, but if that guy with the pamphlets was actually stopping the girl from getting onto the train (and she wasn't an actress) that guy is just a dick. Her frustration was entirely justified.
haven't heard that song in like 20 yrs, but now it's stuck in my head..............thanks
If you miss the G , you might as well walk
That guy finishing Atlas Shrugged.
reasons to never leave manhattan
I don't miss those days. Now when I go back to visit, I am no longer rushing.
Terrific. I feel your pain.
This js one of the first videos I ever watched on RUclips, and I am glad to have found it.

This would have been funny, if it wasn't so damn REAL to me.

This is so perfect. The G train is easily the worst in the whole city.
Not even close. Try riding the C train. The G train gets all the attention because spoiled white 20something hipsters refuse to stop concentrating in Williamsburg and whine about it incessantly.

The G train is officially NYC'S meme train
About 80 percent of the people in NY now... aren't even from there 😕
Hahahahaha awesome!
The G shutdown might help in this situation…
ARGGHHHH!!!
YAY!
So sad!
uh oh
Can't stand subways.
***** Yep. I live in NYC. I'm still allowed to hate the subways. :D
***** I'm sorry, are you dim? I take the subway. And I'm allowed to not like it. You know, from experience.
Zen Monkey Studios ...I'm being baited! Well done, you got me.

try riding a taxi or a car instead of the train 😐
Eddcited Maybe a bus, but still, the subway is reliable. The G also come frequently, so it’s not a long wait.
@@TheRailLeaguerSorry I was young att
I want to be one of the first to comment.. GREAT JOB. I have been there. OMG.
