Being a roofer here for well over 40 years can i advise your man not to stand on the ladder above the gutter, lean forward and the ladder is off the floor and he is on the floor...great channel btw.

Thanks buddy, I appreciate its not ideal and did feel slightly sketchy but it was all we had at the time. I'll probably be buying and extendible lance tonight so I dont have to do that kind of stuff again. Thanks for watching

In regards to your question..for me it was a gradual transition of more strings to my bow kind of thing.
It kind of snowballed from just offering window cleaning originally. you have the add on services etc,And I found the customers who where fed up with constant sweeping up an bi annual gutter clearance it was a way to eliminate that problem for them.
For me I am all year round window cleaning, gutter clear and cleans also unless we have a cold snap and all is frozen up there.
But Roofs and Driveways/Patios etc tend to Start spring through to late autumn.
That being said the pressure washing started earlier this year as the weather has been kind.
But...I done a roof clean late Dec and like you mentioned when it's frozen it is a pig so I book in for March onwards. That way no issues with biocide effectiveness.
I scrape and juice up on the roofs..I do like the idea of instant visual result but don't want the immense clean up.
Like the videos mate keep them coming 👍
(I am not a pro gamer ,my little'n kidnaps my phone😂)
    All the best 👍

I went from 2 roofs this time last year and then from August - December ended up doing about 15.
You’ll need a bigger van and storage or smaller profit margins as you can rent towers (it’s the tower that takes up the most room) it’s bloody hard work but a great service to add.

Get flat trailer and scaffolding basics that can got 20 ft by 12 quick broke done. Put 20 gallon plastic square tank with heater, high pressure hoses, and hangers all tie downs. Ladders, pipes pressure main washers. You can chain everything down, storage in driveway. Get a hold of other companies had do now and do they have extras, because everyone get smaller and then go next stage and has the extras. Leaf blowing in fall, yes two or three leaflets on line. And store bulletin boards.

Mate, such an amazing video! I started doing roof cleaning recently, I've done 2 roofs so far - I used a brush scraper and then once the moss was removed I then used some SH /w Surfactant and the roofs came out pretty good. Only issues I had were the immense amount of hard work scraping a whole roof whereas I'm sure an extendable pole with a surface cleaner on it would massively reduce the strainage on my shoulders... Also, on both properties once the SH has done its job within 1-2 weeks the gutters are packed with the little bits of mold/algae & moss that the SH cleared up which meant we had to go back and clear out the gutters again. Wasn't a big deal only took 45 mins but still its nice to see an instant beautiful transformation and not having to come back again on a different day :) Anyways, I'm thinking of upgrading my van too - so I can fit the tower in there for roof cleaning. In regards to the financing for business purposes, 3 of my uncles have really successful businesses and I've spoken to all 3 and they strongly advise me to utilize the debt and you'll multiply your business massively. It has worked really well for them and for me recently. So as well as you trust you will do what it takes, I'd say really go for it. Keep it seperate from your personal bank account and it will motivate you to go even harder.

Sorry just to add I've done a lot of pressure washing driveways, patio's the last couple years and I think the money from roof cleaning it something hard to pass up on..

It’s hard graft roof cleaning. You definitely need to invest in a tower and 35ft converted pole at least. I started doing it a few years ago, I’ve now got a unit for all my stuff. As accumulate a lot of stuff offering these different services. You will need a bigger van. Roof cleaning is good money for a reason 😊 saying that the profit margin on a roof is not as good as a good old driveway clean, but the roof cleans and gutter cleans keep you ticking over in the winter.

I took my time with getting into roof cleaning, Rutland pumps do good kits, but what you should look into is a decent van and think of selling your Peugeot for a little extra cash, something that’s a bit bigger to fit a Mi Tower in, they actually have a sale on their towers the now I picked up a 5m one about 3 weeks ago for about £2,200, but definitely take your time what you could do if you feel confident is booking 5/6 roofs in but take a deposit and use that to buy some new equipment and hire a scaffold mate it will keep costs low but book them in like a month away so you can get everything in that you need and test the equipment.
    All the best mate 👌🏻

Love your videos mate. I’ve learned a lot! I highly recommend just biting the bullet and buying a bigger van. Get a scaffold tower and start offering roofing jobs. You’ll make your money back very quickly.

I do not roof clean, so feel free to ignore me. However, I have had it done. I strongly suggest you not try it alone. It is very hard work. You might try going out with someone and do a few roofs as a trainee/assistant. See how you feel after a few roofs. There are probably many tricks of the trade you could pick up that might save you hard labor. I do not mean to imply you lack stamina, or determination, but it is groups of muscles in your legs and arms that don't usually get a strenuous work out. whatever you decide I wish you well.

What sort of bar pressure did you find you used on the roof?

    • @SMOUT_
      @SMOUT_  8 месяцев назад

I cant say for sure, but the machine was on idle with the unloader turned down, and we were using my 035 turbo nozzle instead of my red 080, so much less overall power than i'd usually use on block paving for example.

Wouldnt use high pressure on roofs its good to see the instant results dont get me wrong far better with a scrape and a biocide let nature do the rest then. Its about managing customer expectations so give them the choice then its on there head then.
