    My situation exactly! I also started with the SL2. I bought the R7 almost 2 months ago for all the same reasons you listed. Thanks.

    Thanks for doing this review. I am looking to move up from my 80D and this seems like a solid option.

      No problem! I really have been enjoying this new camera. The battery life is great compared to my old camera and there are so many cool features

    Hey, thanks for sharing this. You made some pretty solid points I strongly agree with. On the contrary, I wonder why you didn't consider getting into the Sony ecosystem with an Fx30. I really want to get your set up R7 + Adapter + 18 - 35 Sigma. I thought of the Fx30, but something about the R7 makes me want to get that instead, probably because I am a long-time Canon user, and have a bunch of EF lenses and batteries.

      Right, I think the fx30 looks sweet but I already had a bunch of canon lenses so I’d have to sell and rebuy new lenses.
      Also I do some photography as well a little bit and I think the fx30 is more for just videography.
      I really do like the quality of that camera though. If I was just starting out and didn’t have any lenses I would most likely have just gotten the fx30 lol

      Long time cannon user with existing EF lenses R7 makes a ton of sense.

      @@pcofranc Yes, I agree, but Panasonic's s5ii and S5iix and the L mount alliance are incredibly tempting, although I am still not sure about their autofocus.

    Great video. I make repair videos with my cell phone and Panasonic FZ1000 was a big step to understand ISO, frame rates, sensor size, etc. Coming from a an m50 is something I could relate to. I'm leaning towards Sony ZV-e10 to keep the cost down and slowly buy lenses. APS-C lenses do a good job with less weight and cost. The feedback on your professional work mainly focuses on content vs technical settings. Thanks!

    Hey did you get the kit lens and is it sufficient for RUclips? Haven’t seen anyone use the kit lens for a talking head video

    • @AntonioSanson
      @AntonioSanson  Год назад +2

      I didn’t get the kit lense. Personally I wanted a more shallow depth of field that’s why I opted to get a different lense. You could get the 16mm sigma 1.4 lense with an adapter instead of the kit lense for RUclips and I’d bet your videos would look a lot better. I use the 18mm-35mm sigma lense and I love it.

      Thanks for the info, do you have any content filmed with R7 and that lens attached? I’m only thinking about the kit lens because I can save a little on the lens with the bundle and it’s pretty versatile, but I have consistently heard great things about sigma so that sounds like a solid option too

      I have a video dropping tomorrow at 5pm EST shot with the canon R7 plus the 18-35 sigma lense which I think turned out great.
      I don’t have any videos shot with the 16mm but a friend of mine has it and loves it. I like the 18-35 because it gives me more range with zooming.
      I’m sure the kit lense will look nice as well but you just won’t get as shallow depth of field and low light performance.
