For most of my life, I've written off JRPGs. From my teens to early adulthood, I've had to be really invested in the story to look past the anime stylization, and -- just to be honest -- I really dislike turn-based combat. But over the years, there have been games that have slowly shown me that I can enjoy turn-based combat, and being almost 28 now, I've grown to have an appreciation for styles and presentation that before I would have found unappealing for their fantastical designs. For the first time really, I've had to rely on the expertise of others to learn about this genre so foreign to me. All that to say, I sincerely appreciate videos like these, and the time you invested to make it.
Interesting list, there are games here that I've never heard of before, I also like to see differing opinions about these RPGs than whatever the trend on the internet is, very refreshing 👍🏼
Great video, great list. I will say though you should try out shin megami tensei 2 if you liked 1 a lot, it's a direct upgrade over 1 in almost every way and has even more areas to explore.
I thought i was the only one who loved octopath traveler 1 outside of it’s flaws😭 thankgod i’ve been having a blast playing it for the first time. Little salty about earthbound in B tier since I really love the overall gameplay but i get why
if smt 1 makes your highest tier and its the only of the megaten franchise you've played you really owe it to yourself to play atleast some others of the mainline games, nocturne and 4 being the stand outs in my opinion. incredibly good games

Yeah, FF5 > FF6. Story-wise, FF5 isn't that great, but the job classes and replayability really stand out compared to most JRPGs.
