I’ve done martial arts and mma for 11+ years of my life and don’t get me wrong, talking your shit and then absolutely destroy your opponent, it feels damn good. However I will never forget, the first discipline I started was taekwondo. I remember my sensei would always say, “Everyone must choose one of two pains: The pain of discipline or the pain of regret.” I do not remember where he got it but it always reminded me to remember to be disciplined and calm. I’ve done martial arts and mma for 11+ years of my life and don’t get me wrong, talking your shit and then absolutely destroy your opponent, it feels damn good. However I will never forget, the first discipline I started was taekwondo. I remember my sensei would always say, “Everyone must choose one of two pains: The pain of discipline or the pain of regret.” I do not remember where he got it but it always reminded me to remember to be disciplined and calm. Love martial arts it’s a huge part of my life and i wouldn’t trade the experience or the people for the world 🙏🥋

What if that was the truth from retrospect, knowing Khabib had a broken toe and was about to have to put more weight on that toe to compensate for weakened calves. People don't understand how drastically a fight changes the exact moment a limb goes from ok to compromised. Now that might not be the case, but it's nowhere as crazy as you make it sound. Khabib knew that he needed to force this to the ground after the 3rd kick landed, and the urgency may have told more than we know.

When you watch Joe for a while you realise this guy is just committed to truth, he always gives an honest assessment of himself. That's a large part of why he's unique, most people can't kill ego even if it would make them successful.

@Kevin D Thats funny. Jones is a cheater. BJ Penn has like 14+ losses in his record. Cormier lost 3 times. DJ fought weak competition. Cejudo reign was too short. The only guy that can be put with Khabib in a GOAT Convo is GSP, having the advantage of a longer body of work in ufc while Khabib having the advantage of being undefeated and more dominant.

But to correct you, he had a shot at the vacant belt after 2 fights in ufc and lost to Hughes. Then after a 5 fight win streak he got a shot again at the belt and won. He lost his first title defense against Serra, then had to win 2 fights and got a shot at the belt for the 3rd time and defended his title 9 times. Khabib won 9-in-a-row just to get his first and shot at the belt.
@Kevin D I can recall several fighters that have the same amount of title defenses like Khabib, that's not what seperates Khabib from the crowd. He dominated and cleaned the most stacked division before getting his shot at the title winning 9 fights in a row. You cant say the same about Cejudo, he fought in a weak division, still did not clean it and lost to DJ and Benavidez, and won his title via split decision. His only recognizable achievement is being a 2 division champ. Khabib never lost, never had a draw or split decsion and just crushed the competition.
