Thank you for subscribing! But you're totally right, but I think that's what makes this video interesting because now this question is still kinda of unanswered and we have other candidates to take up the Paladin arc :)
This blonde bastard always underperforms in my runs and has a tendency to miss when I really need him to land a hit. Seth has to step in and correct his blunders more often than not. He gets benched as soon as Forde and Kyle are available, usually by his older brother. Even Amelia who is universally considered terrible performs better than him in my games. Maybe I'm cursed to never know what it's like to have a good Franz. I can't wait to see my boy Joshua in one of these. Also any ideas about how to do healer runs? Two things come to my mind. The first one is starting with them already promoted and adjusting their stats to the average. The other is clearing everything with Seth until you get the first guiding ring and let an unarmed unit get hit over and over at a chokepoint or by a boss and heal your way to level 20.
hahahaha I usually tend to have more of a hard time with him than anything else, but this time he came through for me lol. As for healers, I have a few ideas and people have pitched a lot of things in the comments so I'm still working it out as of now :)
Kyle can hit GK caps :) I've shared this with you before but to new viewers. Kyle beats Seth in STR and can utilize the GK caps. He gets an extra level to grow in comparison to Ford, and can utilize Steel Sword without detriment, his competition can't. They also lose 2 speed on Javelins whereas he only loses 1. Same with heavier lances, he always loses 1 less. With Paladin and GK speed only being 24, he can actually hit that and make use of Speedwing if he's struggling to double when you need him to. He can max out Hand Axe without any speed detriment thanks to his Con advantage to train S Axes, for Garm, the best weapon in the game. Garm has the strongest MT and fixes the low 24 Speed Cap Pallys and GK suffer from. You do have to work hard to get Axes to S, but Steel Axe and Devil Axe really help speed it up, and he doesn't lose speed as a GK wielding heavy weapons. Love your Franz analysis here and the breakdown for deciding job promotion. One of your best videos yet!
I was gonna say "oh Franz has a lot of boss conversations" but that's just because he's a reskinned Eirika -_- Anyway, congrats on another run ! This one was pretty smooth, I'm curious to see how fast a paladin would go, especially since they can promote so early (or in the case of Seth, is already promoted).
@@kratosmvn_ Okay, Cool. Also, I think Moulder, Natasha, and L'arachel will be impossible as they start as just healers. Even though I love Natasha almost as much as I love Vanessa, I don't see how a Mend is gonna solo the game.
Franz is a pretty good unit, but he is very susceptible to being RNG screwed because most of his growths are below 50% and a coin flip or worse of being hit every level, and bad early levels can snowball into being a severe disadvantage. Ch 6 seems to be where most solo units hit level 20, so it isn't as hard. But you do need to be wary of the fighter with the halberd in the fog. Most horse units will have access to swords which can help with it, but it is something you need to keep in mind of you might take a much heavier hit than you expect. For Paladin vs Great knight-I like great knight more because of higher stat caps and having access to all 3 weapons, but for most people paladin is probably better because of higher movement. Even with franz being super strength screwed in this run, I still think great knight is the better choice because of being able to use Garm. I honestly think any character that has access to a class that can use axes should give serious consideration to using that class because of access to garm, in addition to how good axes are in general in sacred stones Sacred weapons-yeah, vidofnir does seem like the worst of the melee sacred weapons, really weird for the sword to have 3 more might than the lance, though the lance seems to be more of a defensive type weapon that makes the wielder more bulky For the final chapter lyon-you might consider using brave weapons against him like you used the brave sword against Reiv in chapter 19. It looks like the brave axe can be found from a hero in chapter 17, the brave sword from a hero in chapter 19, and the brave lance from an enemy general in chapter 19. It may be worth trying to get those weapons if you're able to since they are very powerful and can be helpful against lyon at the end-wow, franz getting strength screwed really came to bite you here. If he had 2 more damage (so above the paladin strength cap) he would have been able to 4 shot the demon king instead of needing 5 hits. And since he could easily survive 2 hits from the demon king (only taking 28 damage from demon light) it would have been trivial to kill fomortiis if he hadn't been so strength screwed. At least you got lucky and still managed to kill him on the first try
Yeah, any character that has around 40ish growth rates is bound to get rng screwed more than the average. It's true that the halberd may be a problem. I gotta keep an eye on that. It's really hard to find a better legendary weapon than Garm in terms of the physical weapons. I do sometimes use the brave sword or lance on lyon if I have to finish off, and I need 2 hits. I guess I've just never thought putting those attempts in the videos.
I've been wondering if it would be advantageous to put off promoting so that you can make use of the Metis Tome. There's certainly enough experience to go around to getting a character to 20/20, but chapter 15 is quite far into the run and we've certainly seen some characters struggle in it even with having a much earlier promotion. It seems like it might have been viable with Franz and might have helped with Gilliam (I think that was the run I started wondering about it). Would have made that swordslayer pick up unusable against Carlyle in Chapter 14, which could be unfortunate, too. Watching your Iron Man Highlights, I thought the death squad might be a good pool of candidates for the solo run challenges. But seeing you promote Moulder in that 3rd highlight video immediately made me interested in if Moulder soloing would be possible... of course, he has no offensive potential in his base class, so you'd have to do something extra to modify his run to make him viable (lock in a promoted class option and give the relevant magic ability prior to promotion?); not sure what would be appropriate there, but might be worth pondering.
I've thought about that too. It made the run extremely hard for Eirika, but Franz could have maybe used this to his advantage you're right. I'd have to test it out at some point for sure. I'm still workshoping how to do healers at the moment. I don't think they'll be possible without some level of shenanigans on my end, but we'll see when we get there.
Love the vids, one minor feedback-seems confusing to say no convoy but you can use it for weapons. It’s explained that you only get one healing item per map, so the convoy rule seems like it could be removed altogether?
Sacred Stones characters have such great designs I swear. They all look so good. I just wish there was more characterisation of everyone in the game honestly.
I'm trying to do the solo run using eirika and eiphream, nothing done yet lol. my Eirika run is super frustating because she isn't fast enough so she has a hard time giving double attacks using a strong sword at the same time giving my enemy better accuracy. i feel your pain lol. Meanwhile on the other hand Eiphram is pretty easy. He is strong and fast enough to melt every enemy. So proud of him lol
As soon as I saw the horse I knew the desert was going to be annoying. A FLYING horse would surely have an easy time though... **hint hint** Honestly the biggest problem with Franz is how his promotions make him and his horse look like they're covered in boogers. (still waiting on a myrmidon run. crits all day erry day)
I think the 1 hour Clear Time difference between Lute and Franz is just chapter 15. Great Knight can only move 1 space before you get the swiftsole, Sage can move 6. And you even picked up junk like the Metis Tome and Body Ring on top of all that. I would consider them the same tier due to that technicality.
Yeah, that's perfectly fair, and probably the reason behind the time lost, but technically that map is designed to be hard for mounted units meaning that losing time there is part of the deal.
Hey, I was curious, would it be possible to use FEBuilder to change the units you aren't using into flyers, to make it easier to get them out of the way of enemies? For example, changing Franz, Gilliam and Seth into flying units, so that on chapter 1 you could just move them to the top right corner of the map, instead of playing around enemy ranges. Also, personally I feel like Franz should be in the same tier as Lute - both of their turn counts were very similar, which I feel is overall more important than the time, and Franz did require less resets than Lute. Franz got kinda strength screwed too, which did hurt his performance a little (also worth noting that if he did have the benefit of a reset, and his strength was closer to average, he would have been able to clear maps faster)
I think that would be possible with a little playing around! That's 100% fair, but I'll wait and see how others do and might eventually do an overall of the list as I learn more and considering each run's context :)
So, last time I suggested a Knoll video, as a reward for him getting so many dodges. I still want to see that, but now, I also want to request a run for someone widely considered to be the worst unit in the game - Marisa. I actually like her, and think she could probably do it, but I'd like to see the attempt.
Great Knight definitely the right choice imo, Axes a huge help with dmg and stat caps like you said. Solo run late maps get bogged down anyways if not using a flier!
If you go in Mekka's discord tons of Franz haters in there saying he sucks and Kyle is better. Franz is my favorite cav in the entire series so I just ignore these heretics. Their main argument is that Franz competes with Vanessa whereas Kyle gets 5x for free pretty much. I say good luck training Vanessa in Chapter 2 and 3 lol. I will just be training my Franz in chapter 1-3 and having fun while you are tediously whittling down enemies hoping not to miss.
Well that went well. Not really surprising really. I will say paladin probably would have made the final part of the game harder due to it not having Garm as an option. So even with the bad luck in strength it probably worked out for the best there. Now you just need to do an archer and flier and you will have done pretty much every fully unique type of class. Not counting healers and Myrrh of course. I say this as a lot of the magic users I feel will be pretty similar to each other. Obviously there will be differences, but outside of maybe Artur possibly going Bishop over sage(which I feel probably won't happen) it probably won't be too big a difference.
I think at this point Seth is gonna be the only paladin used. Garm is just that useful. Poor Vadolfnir is barely going to be used I feel. Like maybe the Tana and Vanessa might use it if you go Wyvern knight with them. Like I am honestly a little surprised the lance has the weakest MT to it.
Spoilers***** I really agree with you on the Great Knight, I myself did a Seth and Amelia Solo Run once and it is a hustle to use Vidofnir you cannot One Round the DK it took me over 4 Turns and healing abuse to kill it. I truly enjoy your content! Hope all your effort pays off and you keep it this way! 💯
if you're willing to sacrifice the boots and the potential 10 Mov to Great Knight Franz, you get a second axe wielding Seth. Instead of Paladin Franz aka Seth Lite in any playthrough
I'm sure you know this and say percent as habit, but the hit rate is not a flat percent. the game rolls twice and averages. This means that the numbers at the end of the spectrum are a lot more extreme. So an 80 hit change is alot higher than 80% and a 20 hit rate is a lot less than 20%.
Oh yeah, I know this. I use percent for the sake of simplicity and also explaining the rng system in this game every run would be tedious for viewers to watch. But thanks for the clarification just in case :)
I think you should have gone for the Paladin not because of the power or utility but for the entire point of this run that you mentioned at the beginning: It was supposed to compare the mobility vs the stats. Franz only has that movement advantage as a Paladin, and in fact as a Great Knight his Move is even worse than Lute because he is more hindered by terrain. Maybe you could do like a Vanessa run next to keep it more true to the stats vs movement spirit?
Fair points, but he's not the only potential Paladin in the game, there are other options for me to test this with. Also, when I record these voice-over, my goal is to take you along my line of thinking as I was playing/planning. So, I may enter a run with a given mindset, but if that evolves throughout the gameplay, my goal is to convey this change and explain why I had a change of thinking. I don't want these videos to be me forcing one narrative, because I think the beauty of FE has to do with the random elements. No two runs will be the same and adapting your strategy is at times vital to your success and I feel that my videos have to reflect that when appropriate.
I just saw the ending, what if you ranked them based on the numbers multiplied together? So like Turns x Time x Resets? 0 Resets could just be x1 and 1 reset could just be x1.5. They would be ranked higher for lower scores.
I dont know what effort you would need to make, but I'd love a natasha only run. I know she cant damage until she promotes, but she has always been a bishop and an absolute killing machine in all of my playthroughs. If theres a mod that she can use light magic as a cleric maybe
I'm really curious about Franz as a Paladin now, especially compared to his own Great Knight finish. Because of the poor Str growths I'd argue Paladin was objectively better because of the Mov. Garm's higher mt alone wasn't enough to kill the demon king in one less hit... but with even just 2 more str it certainly would've. Unlucky, although first try Fomortiis so I guess you can't complain. How much of a difference does 2 mov really make? We'll have a comparable run at some point though I imagine Forde will be a Paladin.
I tried out a solo Summoner Knoll run on my own and man, I can't wait for you to stop worrying and learn to love the Nosferatu 😉 (Honestly he's not that bad until you hit the Demon King, then it's pain and reset hell because 50% hit Luna and 30% hit Eclipse are the only weapons worth bothering with, and of course he has like 75-80% accuracy on Knoll and two-shots) (He also got hilariously lopsided with -3 to Defense and Resistance in exchange for +4 Luck above average and being 1 point of Speed from the cap, which is incidentally also the point of speed he needed to not get doubled with Gleipnir... which sucked anyway, only 10 damage max to Demon King 💀) (The second Knoll from the desert was in the end the only one who didn't make it 🤣)
@@kratosmvn_ If you're not ready for Knoll, then hoo boy are you not ready for Neimi - she can't even get past the chapter 2 Armor Knight unless she either hits her 45% Strength growth *5 times in a row* AND he rolls for 9 Defense instead of 10... or she spends *hundreds* of turns squatting on a fort dodging enemies, and her avoid isn't even that great so she can die during that, too 💀 And then there's her promotion, and by that I mean she doesn't get promoted 💀
You really should talk to your Iron Man Vanessa for sapping away all the Str levelups Franz could have gotten in this run. 😂 It is worth noting during the ranking, that even in this still impressive run, it could have been better because you did get Str screwed in this run. 4 str is a massive dropoff. That's the difference between two-rounding and three-rounding Fortmortiis. Having higher damage against Lyon also would have been key, too. There also might have been times during the playthrough I couldn't see (because a lot of the game was cut out for the sake of video length) where Franz could've one-rounded enemies had he had the 4 extra strength. Perhaps maybe doing a second playthrough would've most certainly yielded better results. But then that would probably set a precedent for the rest of the series (and may need a re-evaluation of the other characters before him that didn't get the benefit of a second run), so up to you if you decide to entertain the idea.
Vanessa hogging all the strength, but it's okay if she can win me the ironman lmao Yeah, it's hard to gage for sure, but I may end up later revisiting some runs when we have more under our belt. But that's for future me to figure out lol
@@kratosmvn_ Yeah, I think it's certainly something to think about later. This run felt like an extreme outlier and could very well benefit from a second playthrough as this type of outlier shouldn't really happen very often. Again, something to ponder for Future Kratos. :P
Franz bases are far from average. Hes level 1 with 7 strength and speed, 9 con which is on par or higher than most promoted units and of course 7 move for the highest you can have on an unpromoted unit. His growth rates are high and balanced with more levels to grow. Having higher rates and more levels with nearly on par bases makes him statistically much better then most units. The only place he is really lacking is low resistance, which is such an easy thing to mitagte.
Because of movement difficulties for his class you should just put him #1, Franks its the silent VIP behind SETH that its on his own category called SETH :o)
I still say GK is the better promote solely due to Garm. You cant resist or block stone, you need speed, skill, or luck. Since Garm is the only weapon that does this its the better defensive weapon. Its also the better offensive weapon as its the only sacred weapon that increases your offensive stats like hit chance and chance to double.

Loving the solo runs, very entertaining 😁
Thank you ❤
i love how the "bad" version of Seth is still op
He simply refuses to be denied as the GOAT lmao.
Kyle can hit GK caps :)
I've shared this with you before but to new viewers.
Kyle hits the cap without breaking a sweat for sure! Now you've somehow gotten me excited for a Kyle run lmao!
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video. ❤
Poor Knoll, you should do Knoll for next solo run.
Mmmmhhh... maybe 😈
Would love to see a flying unit solo run. Perhaps Tana?
Flying unit soon hopefully :)
Can't wait for knoll only
At some point... maybe 😈
Yeah, I'm also intrigued about Paladin, I have a few candidates whom I think could make good use of the promo ;)
Honestly, I was hoping Vanessa was the next unit for this. Oh well, Franz is good, but I really want to see my girl bend the game over her knee.
Vanessa will have her time to shine soon enough don't worry :)
@@kratosmvn_ Okay, Cool. Also, I think Moulder, Natasha, and L'arachel will be impossible as they start as just healers. Even though I love Natasha almost as much as I love Vanessa, I don't see how a Mend is gonna solo the game.
@@RadiantWyvern1 Agreed, I'll have to do some sort of manipulation to make those happen, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
I honestly think any character that has access to a class that can use axes should give serious consideration to using that class because of access to garm, in addition to how good axes are in general in sacred stones
Sacred weapons-yeah, vidofnir does seem like the worst of the melee sacred weapons, really weird for the sword to have 3 more might than the lance, though the lance seems to be more of a defensive type weapon that makes the wielder more bulky
For the final chapter lyon-you might consider using brave weapons against him like you used the brave sword against Reiv in chapter 19. It looks like the brave axe can be found from a hero in chapter 17, the brave sword from a hero in chapter 19, and the brave lance from an enemy general in chapter 19. It may be worth trying to get those weapons if you're able to since they are very powerful and can be helpful against lyon
at the end-wow, franz getting strength screwed really came to bite you here.
@@kratosmvn_ Moulder with evil eye as a weapon 😄
@@JackpotJohnno That's a popular idea to make them work.
Love the vids, one minor feedback-seems confusing to say no convoy but you can use it for weapons. It’s explained that you only get one healing item per map, so the convoy rule seems like it could be removed altogether?
Thank you! You're right I have to find a better way to shorten that rule to make it less confusing. Thanks for the feedback.
I hear Franz pairs well with another well-loved character from Three Houses if you wanna take enemies out.
Sacred Stones characters have such great designs I swear. They all look so good. I just wish there was more characterisation of everyone in the game honestly.
Agreed, I wish we have more time with the characters outside of supports that is.
Yeah soloing with Eirika is not easy feat! Hopefully your run goes well :)
Tu devrai avoir plus d'abonnés pour ton contenu incroyable

Can You Beat Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones Using Only Phantoms?
I think that's impossible there, bud. LMAO
I want to try this now...
@@kratosmvn_ You're welcome in advance
This sounds like something I'd do to prove a point, that point being "I don't need Seth, I have Franz!"
Yep, no need for Seth just Franz haha
As soon as I saw the horse I knew the desert was going to be annoying. A FLYING horse would surely have an easy time though... **hint hint**
Honestly the biggest problem with Franz is how his promotions make him and his horse look like they're covered in boogers.
(still waiting on a myrmidon run. crits all day erry day)
A flying horse you say... there are those in this game? 👀👀👀
Crit all day run will be fun.
if you had max strength, you could have killed boss even easier.
four hits to kill, no need to even kite around the minions
Yep, you're totally right :)
Meme idea: do a forde solo and make a bunch of Mekka references
😂😂😂
I think the 1 hour Clear Time difference between Lute and Franz is just chapter 15. Great Knight can only move 1 space before you get the swiftsole, Sage can move 6. And you even picked up junk like the Metis Tome and Body Ring on top of all that. I would consider them the same tier due to that technicality.
Yeah, that's perfectly fair, and probably the reason behind the time lost, but technically that map is designed to be hard for mounted units meaning that losing time there is part of the deal.
A good Franz can compete with Seth and that’s my favorite way to play this game. But a good Franz is hard to come by, even then I still use him a lot
You're totally right :D
If you want to, you can skip 5x by editing the goto chapter at the end of the chapter to 6 instead of 5x with febuilder
That's a pretty smart idea! I do like getting the keys off that chapter thought to be fair.
I had realized fliers will suck because of the very low stat cap awhile ago so I fear for Ven
That's gonna be a very interesting issue to overcome :)
Ohhhh the Marisa run sounds like a ton of fun!
Princess Franz of Renais
The best of princesses 👸 🤣
I love these runs so much
I'm glad you enjoy them :D
Great Knight definitely the right choice imo, Axes a huge help with dmg and stat caps like you said. Solo run late maps get bogged down anyways if not using a flier!
Yeah, I really think that was the way to go!
Would love to see a solo colm or amelia run
Thank you! I will be trying to get to these two as soon as possible. :)
would love to see how Neimi would fair, an underrated char imo
Neimi would be quite interesting, only thing is getting out of the early game would be tough.
So is "Can you beat the game with only Tana" next?
I don't know about next but in the plans for sure.
One trick for chapter 15 E is that the left side of the map has much less sand, making traversing it much easier
That's right. That would be my normal route, but I stupidly went for Metis tome haha
Waiting for the day you do a Knoll sufferrun !!
With Knoll, sufferrun is the right way to put it 😂😂😂
Love your videos :D
Thank you very much ❤
I'm wondering how Sophia would do now..
Mhhh, in this game I'm not so sure haha
OnlyFranz !!
He's gotta some exclusive Paladin content behind the paywall 🤣
Love franz! Can’t wait for the stream this weekend 😊
Franz is great! Can't wait to stream this weekend ;)
Please, knoll next. He keeps getting done dirty in these runs
Getting done dirty? I don't know what you mean 😈
Yeah Franz was a predictable easy, but I didn't think it be that easy. Garm really is too good haha.
@@chaossnowkitsune6377 Maybe, but I still have a few ideas when it comes to Paladin :)

I really agree with you on the Great Knight, I myself did a Seth and Amelia Solo Run once and it is a hustle to use Vidofnir you cannot One Round the DK it took me over 4 Turns and healing abuse to kill it.
I truly enjoy your content! Hope all your effort pays off and you keep it this way! 💯
Yeah, GK was the play for sure. Vidofnir is shockingly hard to justify imo.

@@kratosmvn_ I’m joking, friend. Pegasus knight fan for life 😆
8:18 Consider that Franz is still Cavalier.
That is very true. You also gotta consider the promo bonuses.
if you're willing to sacrifice the boots and the potential 10 Mov to Great Knight Franz, you get a second axe wielding Seth.
That seems like an interesting idea, I'm gonna try out the calc just to see how it works and see if it's viable :)
I dont know what effort you would need to make, but I'd love a natasha only run. I know she cant damage until she promotes, but she has always been a bishop and an absolute killing machine in all of my playthroughs. If theres a mod that she can use light magic as a cleric maybe
There is some tinkering to be done for sure for a Natasha run, but I'd like to try for sure.
Knoll is next...right?
I can't make any promises on that end.
@@kratosmvn_ fair enough. Looking forward to the next vid regardless :)
@@Xand_ thank you 😊
I'm really curious about Franz as a Paladin now, especially compared to his own Great Knight finish.
Yeah, I ended up working out in the end! But I am still intrigued as to how Paladin would do.
I tried out a solo Summoner Knoll run on my own and man, I can't wait for you to stop worrying and learn to love the Nosferatu 😉
(Honestly he's not that bad until you hit the Demon King, then it's pain and reset hell because 50% hit Luna and 30% hit Eclipse are the only weapons worth bothering with, and of course he has like 75-80% accuracy on Knoll and two-shots)
(He also got hilariously lopsided with -3 to Defense and Resistance in exchange for +4 Luck above average and being 1 point of Speed from the cap, which is incidentally also the point of speed he needed to not get doubled with Gleipnir... which sucked anyway, only 10 damage max to Demon King 💀)
(The second Knoll from the desert was in the end the only one who didn't make it 🤣)
I'm not ready to be hurt by Knoll 😂😭
@@kratosmvn_ If you're not ready for Knoll, then hoo boy are you not ready for Neimi - she can't even get past the chapter 2 Armor Knight unless she either hits her 45% Strength growth *5 times in a row* AND he rolls for 9 Defense instead of 10... or she spends *hundreds* of turns squatting on a fort dodging enemies, and her avoid isn't even that great so she can die during that, too 💀
And then there's her promotion, and by that I mean she doesn't get promoted 💀
You really should talk to your Iron Man Vanessa for sapping away all the Str levelups Franz could have gotten in this run. 😂
It is worth noting during the ranking, that even in this still impressive run, it could have been better because you did get Str screwed in this run.
Vanessa hogging all the strength, but it's okay if she can win me the ironman lmao
Yeah, it's hard to gage for sure, but I may end up later revisiting some runs when we have more under our belt.
The advantage we have with this one, in my opinion, is that we have 4 other potential Paladin to try something similar with.
I wonder how Myrrh would do. Is it even possible..? Can the Dragonstone be strung out enough to survive the game?
It isn't possible without some level of shenanigans... I believe that only chapter 15 alone would deplete it due to being a route map.
i prefer great knight 100% and am happy you went with it. while the extra move is nice, ive always just liked GK way more.
Great Knight is such a fun class!
Neimi Solo would have been amusing
It's gonna happen at some point ;)
