I just love this movie. Somebody wrote it is such an eye candy and couldn’t be described better, both for Italy and Jude Law.Not to go into moral context of it but all together make bitter-sweet candy😂
Watching the charismatic, yet insufferable Phillip Seymour Hoffman version of Freddie is SO much better than whoever that bore was as Freddie in Netflix’s Ripley.
I can't believe how well-received the Ripley series was... it's a complete snooze fest. The actors are charmless and at least 20 years too old for the roles, and choosing to film in B&W to give it a "film noir" feel instead of in color, so viewers could fully appreciate the spectacular scenery, sucked all the life out of the thing. It's practically unwatchable.
Of all the disappointments of the Netflix series, this was the biggest to me. Nobody could top Philip Seymour Hoffman, but they could have made an effort.
It’s gd sting’s daughter playing Freddy Miles in the Netflix series. I will never lay eyes on that Netflix series bc they tortured their audience casting her as Freddy. It’s effed. The earlier 1960s movie I might watch, though. They cast a great dickie and Marge at least … gd.
I don't think so. I would say that both Damon and Delon were exceptional in portraying Ripley. However , the American version was better overall in terms of script , acting, foreshadowing etc. They also went more in depth in Ripley character and the relationship between Dickie and him. It was more psychological. The French version was a bit too.. direct with no much nuances to it really
The thing about great acting is...even if you watch it in the dizzying pan and scan of 9:16, it still...works.
Well said.
"If I'm late, think what her husband's saying". Creepy how Tom is basically absorbing that line in this scene to use it later like The Predator.

Couldn’t agree more. I didn’t make it to the third episode. Freddie’s casting makes zero sense in the Netflix show.
Same could be said with who they cast as Dickie. It’s as if they forgot Dickie was supposed to ooze charisma and charm.
Hello Dickie Greenleaf 😂
Tommy Tommy Tommy how's the peepin?
I am about to break the law JUUUUUDEEEEE
DEWD!!
I just watched the Netflix series really good.
Need to watch this after.
He’s the most terrifying bc he is supposed to be a good person, part of the community, etc. sick! The worst.
Wonderful, gorgeous, decadent
Esta es mejor que la serie de Netflix , glamour , fantasía , actores
💍 💚🍏
SO much better than style over substance bore that is netflix's RIPLEY
Only for TikTok brains. Netflix's is a more mature version so it's not for everybody obviously.
They’re both good IMO

What nonsense is this alain delon did the role of Tom Ripley better in the purple noon
