When my aunt was dying of a brain tumor...I introduced her the The Holiday, she watched it almost everynight before bed because it gave her so much comfort, I watch every Christmas....its one of my favorite movies ever.
I don't know what it is about this format, but it allows for an unpretentious yet intellectual dive into the art of acting. How fabulous. Thank you, Jude and Vanity Fair.
You can tell how passionate he is and the memories and how much he puts into each character. Loved this! The Holiday is indeed an essential annual viewing for me
His parents were both teachers. His dad was a headmaster in London. They clearly educated him well. He was named after a character in a Thomas Hardy book.
Why do you have to insult Americans? The fact is, there are many Americans who speak well and many who do not, just like in other places. Go back to the times of the Revolution with that attitude why don’t you?!
I apologise if I sounded insulting. Just for the record, I'm neither American nor British. I'm Greek and I just made an observation based on the interviews on the Internet. That's all.❤@@cortneyoverstreet8130

Absolutely agree, I would have liked to hear him talk about it too. Even though he didn’t have a lot of screen time compared to Ethan Hawke, he really stole every scene he was in.
His accent >>>>>>> what an actor and personality! this was so interesting and so intriguing. You can feel how much he loves his job. This was so enjoyable ❤
After watching Jude. He is really a professional actor of great stature!!! Wonderful to hear him express his skills and interactions with his films and his fellow actors, More Jude Law, please!
I have never seen a scene as electric as the one with Jude and Cameron Diaz in the kitchen ‘the morning after the night before’ in ‘The Holiday’ - it literally made the hairs on the back of my neck tingle!
I could listen to Jude for hours 😍 He's such an extraordinary and versatile actor! I love everything about him, especially the genuine, joyful and passionate attitude he has in every interview. And let's talk about his hotness🔥 gosh, he'll always be my biggest celebrity crush 💜
I watched “Gattaca” in 1997 because I was a fan of Ethan Hawke with a crush since I saw him in “Before Sunrise”. But when I saw Jude Law in “Gattaca” I totally fell for him, lol, and I’ve been a fan ever since. He was so gorgeous in those days. But while my crush in the late 90s to 2000s eventually wore off, I’ve loved him for the wonderful actor he is, a kind who gives such a nuanced performance yet is so magnetic and intense, you just can’t take your eyes off of him in almost any role he plays. As years went and more films he’s taken parts in, I’ve also grown to respect him more for his courage to take on such a variety of roles, especially ones that he would alter his physical appearance for drastically. He’s such a serious and wonderful actor but I also love how unpretentious he is nowadays like in this interview. You can tell how much he enjoys working as an actor, and also he seems more comfortable in own skin as he’s grown older. He’s aging well and it makes me happy to see it.
For The Talented Mr. Ripley, I get why they chose the boat scene, though I'd much prefer him reacting to the "Everybody should have one talent, what's yours?" scene. Maybe next time!
Love Jude Law and all his movies! Would have loved to have seen 'Wilde' included in this with his remembrances of working Stephen Fry. Perhaps next time!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Jude Law is the greatest Joker that never was. Just look at him. He’s got a real darkness buried beneath his absurdly handsome face. Not to mention his barely sane eyes and killer grin.
I always had a bit of a crush on him. It hasn't changed. I think he should do a project with Taika Waititi. They have similar artistic views but humorous and positive outlook on situations.
He's still very handsome, in fact more handsome than ever. He has sparkly eyes. My favorite role is..Black Sea. It was a real acting role and so different. I highly recommend others watching it. I have seen it a few times.
he didn't talk about the movie in this video but Side Effects the interview with Jude and Rooney Mara with Peter Travers Peter was like i hear you were named after Hey Jude by The Beatles and they started singing it and Peter tried to get Rooney in and she was like no i will never sing! lol
Jude Law ages like fine wine. "The Holiday" is one of my favourite holiday movies to date, I love his dynamic with his two young daughters.
Same
I'm Mr napkin head. 😂 Hahaha so cuuute
Wwnt to turkey
The Holiday is such a comfort Christmas movie! I watch it almost every year. Everyone is so charming and the story is very sweet.
@@piadox sorry to hear hope your life gets better
I love how genuinely excited and happy he is to revisit these moments. It was so pure and entertaining to watch

i'm sorry, but what a lovely memory
I use to play it every night too and it just lulled me to sleep . So comforting.. Like a blankey but in movie form. I love it! ❤
It is such a comfy movie
The was I gasped I’m so sorry
Bless you both ❤🎄✨

Jude Law in The Talented Mr. Ripley is the finest an actor has ever been in a movie
Yes, that movie is truly flawless, and the guy is perfect in it.
Yes….watched it repeatedly….
And, to me, James Mcavoy in Atonement
Best scene ever filmed was Robert Shaw in Jaws telling the story to Richard Dreyfus about his tattoo
@@sandrap4188goosebumps comment and so true!
this is one of the most in-depth rewatches I’ve seen. love it. wish all of the actors did this!
Yes! Same !!! ❤
Totally agree!
You can tell how passionate he is and the memories and how much he puts into each character. Loved this! The Holiday is indeed an essential annual viewing for me
Can we take a moment to appreciate Jude's eloquence? Rich vocabulary, no fillers, no stuttering, unlike many American counterparts!!!!!!
An excellent observation and so true!

Jude is great in long form interviews. He's been on a podcast run the last month that has been excellent.
He is such an amazing, versatile actor. I love when they break scenes down, it makes watching the movies again so much better.
That was a blast. He's incredibly engaging and articulate.

Gattaca holds up so well and his performance is incredible.
Absolutely agree, was hoping for Road to Perdition and Enemy at the gates as well, but unfortunately they didn't include them.

It's amazing how Kate Winslet and Jude Law both say the same thing about 'The Holiday' in their Vanity Fair videos. Such magical connections!
After watching Jude. He is really a professional actor of great stature!!! Wonderful to hear him express his skills and interactions with his films and his fellow actors, More Jude Law, please!
them starting off with The Talented Mr. Ripley, EXACTLYYYY!!!!

Jude Law is truly an amazingly talented actor. If you’ve never seen the movie “Road to Perdition” you really should. One of his best, I think.
Love to hear anyone talk about Closer (2004) one of the best dramas ever made.
He’s still one of my favorite actors. His films really stand the test of time.

Mr Jude Law is aging beautiful. He such a wonderful actor. ❤
This is a great format and Jude is articulate and excellent. Glad he survived this crazy life he's a doll.
This was so fun! I could have watched him go through all of his films especially Gattica and Enemy at the Gates. What an incredible career he has had!
Love Jude Law. Wished he’d talked about Cold Mountain.
I loved him in that role. Great film
And “Wilde.” I thought he and Stephen Fry were amazing as Lord Alfred Douglas & Oscar Wilde.
@@KatieKamala "INMAN!!!"
@@denapattison6363 yes loved Cold Mountain.
I didn’t know he was so articulate and deep. What a display of acting intelligence
How could you miss The Young Pope? Might be genuinely his magnum opus.

so happy they did this with him 😭!!!!
The Sherlock Holmes films are some of my fave films, I want a third!
WIll always carry a torch for Jude Law.

Favorite Jude bit - voice over narration in Lemony Snickets!!
The holiday was my comfort film growing up, i've seen het all year round i think it wouldn't be hyperbolic if i say i've seen it a hundred times
For my fellow The Holiday fans, it starts at 13:10 :)
Thanks ♥️
Closer is one of my absolute favourite films its so human its so raw and reflective.
Joe Law is so bloody underrated as an actor. he is incredible and mastered the craft, theatre as well. should have lots of awards by now

I was going to say those movies because I remember watching those movies when I was Young
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Jude Law is the greatest Joker that never was. Just look at him. He’s got a real darkness buried beneath his absurdly handsome face. Not to mention his barely sane eyes and killer grin.
He has a phenomenal memory
Would love to get Jude's take on Road To Perdition.
I always had a bit of a crush on him. It hasn't changed. I think he should do a project with Taika Waititi. They have similar artistic views but humorous and positive outlook on situations.
Kudos to him for owning his hairline and not getting plugs or anything else like so many other male celebrities are
Several of my favorite movies. He’s wonderful in all of these parts.
I rewatched Gattaca the other day. He’s fantastic!
Why is everyone forgetting he was the young Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts? That’s an iconic role as well if not the movie
Jude you are an absolute master!
The Holiday. Fav!
OMG he takes my breathe away!
i could listen to him talking all day tbh
Love Jude Law
you have missed “The Young Pope”, a masterpiece
So. Many. Great. Films!! ♥
