      1996: Sting Luger and Savage vs Hall, Nash and the third man Hogan formation of the NWO. 1998 2 years later those 3 Sting, Luger and Savage would eventually join the NWO Wolfpac. Makes no sense

      I always thought it would've been great if that had been the one time Heenan had shown relief that Hogan was there -- Hogan comes out, Heenan says something like "I never thought I'd see the day when I was happy to see Hulk Hogan, but here it is!" and then Hogan turns.

I would say the downfall begins as the fingerpoke of doom happened.. or WWF getting the hype with the Austin/Mcmahon Storyline and WCW desperately trying to counter WWF

    This was the one and only WCW pay per view I ever bought. I didn’t even see it live. I bought the encore on Tuesday night purely because of the Hogan heel turn. It was weird watching it. The whole world went topsy turvy. Also give Jimmy Hart some credit for climbing that pole. It was so high!

    Easily The Hulkster's best promo. For all of his anxiety around turning heel, he went out there and delivered. Yes, the multiple leg drops wound the crowd up, but he had to sell it effectively on the mic, and he did. Brother.

    Not just one of the best heel Turns in Wrestling History, but also one of the best Promos of all Time by Hulk Hogan! He changed the Buiness twice! First in the 80´s for WWF and here 96 for WCW! He truly is one of the GOAT.

    This is the moment that brought me back. Watched in the 80’s, but lost interest around 92-93. I heard Hall & Nash showed up on Nitro, watched maybe 1 or 2 before this PPV. Was hooked til 2000, now forever a fan of that era.

    Broke my ankle hours before this event. Was so jacked to see who the third man was I had to get home to watch the ppv before going to the hospital. Hours later we were still talking about it and waited until the next day to go the hospital.

      But Hogan had done the right thing. It would have been wrong for him to pose as a Babyface again, WCW Savior or whatever. If you had listened very carefully, you had heard Months before that the Audience had not only reacted positively to Hulk Hogan. But also sayings like Boring or Hogan sucks could be heard. So it was Time to try something different and it was worth it.

    I remember, and this was with out a doubt the most insane to happen in wrestling. All the lead up, the build… it was like the rest of the matches were there to make you wait.

    The main event was really cleverly booked. The red herring of Lex Luger being taken out of the match worked great to keep us off the scent.
    The angle was already really awesome but this event put it over the top.

    Dude I’ve said this on one of your other videos but the N64 Wrestling music makes me so happy. It takes me back to a time of all nighters with my high school buddies (2 of the 4 of the main group are now gone) playing WCW/nWo World Tour and Revenge, Golden Eye and eventually Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy. The memories and all the Nostalgia from the games and the wrestling they represent. Let’s me forget life and its problems. I really really appreciate you and the channel. Thank you so much.

    I was glad Hulk Hogan chose the Heel Turn. Many of the Students from my School at the time wanted the old Hulkamanic back. But to be honest, i was fed up with the Story. at least that made Hogan entertaining again.

    Even though there were loud boos, there were fans applauding Hogan, and he even got a small Hogan chant after telling the fans to stick it. Rewatching the fans is interesting, some cheer, some boo, some are excited, some hold their head in their hands schocked.

      Oh it certainly was the biggest heel turn, but I put forward that the heel turn that really made everyone go “oooh good goddamn no!” And really feel it physically, was Big Sid Vicious’s “heel turn” at Sin 2001.

    WCW cruiser weight division during this time period was some of the best wrestling I had ever seen. Loved the luchadores and the Asian cruisers, I watched those matches for quality wrestling and everything else for the storylines. La Parka was my favorite.

    and this right here is why Hogan is the GOAT. He dominated the 80’s and this proves he dominated the 90’s aswell. literally had WWF on their heels for 83 weeks. forced WWF to change their business model and spawn the Attitude era. Hulk Hogan is the Michael Jordan of wrestling.

    This PPV was a nexus event in wrestling. WCW reached it's zenith, Hall and Nash solidified thenselves as certified stars, and Hulk Hogan showed us he's willing to adapt to the times when he reinvented himself.

    I still remember watching this live. I was a few weeks short of turning 18, and i had just finished high school. I was on summer vacation and most of my friends were out of town, so my dad and i watched the PPV. I remember how stunned i was. I started listening to "83 Weeks" last year, and I was really surprised how much was left to the last minute.

    Regarding the dean malenko vs disco inferno match: this is a perfect example of why kurt angle us one of my favorite wrestlers of all time: he combines malenkos expertise with infernos trolling work of the crowd. The best of both worlds.

    I was at the GAB when Bischoff got the power bomb. As my friend I were leaving, I say, man that was a pretty damn good show. I haven't seen anything like that from WCW in years. Wonder if they will keep it going? Yeah, I'd say they did

    Hogan's heel turn was the culmination of a grudge with Randy Savage for winning the title at World War 3. They didn't really connect the storylines, but ultimately, that's really why Hogan turned heel on Randy.

    The only thing that dinged the impact of Hogan's heel turn here was Bobby Heenan saying "Yeah, but who's side is he on?" Though it was a tiny ding given their history in the pro wrestling industry.
