Making me homesick. Been in Baltimore for almost two years and I never realized how amazing my home state's food culture was. Also my family owns Rich's Farms Ice Cream in Oxford, CT. Worth a trip if you're ever up there again!
I'm so excited to see you guys in my state! I look forward to seeing your opinion of Mystic. It's one of our favorite places to go. There are so many hidden gems here and I don't know if you guys ventured to Lyman Orchards but that's a beautiful area. You can pick fruits that are in season and the orchard is 275 years old with beautiful grounds and a cute market with the yummiest apple cider doughnuts (more like munchkins) that I've ever had! I hope you enjoyed your time here in CT.
We LOVED Mystic and we loved Connecticut. I can't wait to go back. Hopefully next time we'll have more time to spend there. Thank you for the recommendations!
If you go just over the border to MA from Suffield CT, just past Six Flags, Italian classics to go, head to Nicky's Pizza for meals and grinders and Pajer's superette has fresh large grinders in Agawam. From a MA local here, pizza is better in CT overall.
Please, please, PLEASE visit Litchfield if you get the chance. Bohemian Pizza, @ the Corner, and Arethusa Farm Dairy just over the town line in Bantam. Also - for a local grinder shop, Salerno Import and Deli in Torrington. All of these spots are in the northwest corner. West Shore Seafood in Bantam is a beautiful walk up / outdoor location as well!! If you’ve already left the state, the northwest corner would be a beautiful location to check out for an autumn themed travel video! 😊
next time try wooster street new haven for pizza.pepe's original location, sally's and modern on state street. And zuppardi's in west haven,ct. go early to beat the lines
when you had the Pepe's Pizza, you should have had it from the one around the corner from Louis Lunch. The New Haven one (the original Pepe's)taste different than the franchise one you went to
Go to wallingford ct go to rose's deli on rt 5. Or vinny's deli the king of roast beef. If you are looking for good burgers. I have a list while in ct. Gold burger in newington ,Teds steam burger or Klamay"s steam burger, Harry's in colchester is great. Shady glen on rt 44. Has that that old timey feel with a very unique burger. Just check them out it's an experience.
And Milford Connecticut is the Home of the Hot Butter Lobster Roll invented in 1929 at a place called Perry's. It closed in 1977 but the 7 Seas is the king when it comes to the original hot butter Lobster Roll for almost 60 years
To get the true taste should have eaten it in the restaurant out of the oven…. On Wooster St New Haven original restaurant.. plain tomato with grated cheese the best
Abeets is italian slang for pizza spoken by most italians regardless of brand, unless of course you're talking about that thick chicago pan dough junk. Oh BTW more Italian slang for ya.... moots-adell, not mozzarella, monnygawht or moddygawt, not manacotti. Oh and a hike in east rock .... waddi got a death wish?🥴

Loved this food tour! Gives us ideas for a CT visit someday, thanks for that!!
Thanks! There are definitely a lot of great choices in CT!

@@TheMagicGeekdom You're welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves! Yeah Mystic is pretty awesome.
Louis sandwich shop originated the hamburgers 3:36
Ted's in Meriden rocks! I live in South Meriden. Best steamed cheeseburger ever. But they use Vermont cheddar on their burgers, not mozzarella.
As soon as you said you were in Danbury for a particular reason, I knew what it was. :) You guys are awesome.
It's not every day you get to see such an amazing sewage plant. 😂
@@TheMagicGeekdom I'm sure it led up to every expectation. HA!
If you want an unmistakable Italian deli with the best sandwichs around try Gaetono's in Shelton
If you go just over the border to MA from Suffield CT, just past Six Flags, Italian classics to go, head to Nicky's Pizza for meals and grinders and Pajer's superette has fresh large grinders in Agawam. From a MA local here, pizza is better in CT overall.
Rosa's Deli in Wallingford and The Notch in Cheshire. Two of the best deli's ever in CT.

Although Nardelli’s is a chain they are all individually owned and quite frankly my favorite place to get a grinder
Try Avery’s soda in new Britain Ct definitely recommend
Also for local soda check out Avery soda in new Britain.
For a fun trip to a park - Topsmead State Park. There’s a beautiful English cottage in the middle of the park and the grounds are amazing!
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll have to check it out next time we're in the area.
You want fresh clam pizza....go to Zuppardi's in West Haven. They shuck their clams by hand, fresh daily....and they make their own sausage daily.
Nardelli’s is my favorite grinder chain in Connecticut. Best restaurant to visit for wings and food is J.Timothy’s.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Good to know!
when you had the Pepe's Pizza, you should have had it from the one around the corner from Louis Lunch. The New Haven one (the original Pepe's)taste different than the franchise one you went to
Oh yeah Nardelli’s is awesome and should be a more recognized chain in Connecticut rather than Duchess.
Nardelli's is really good!
Nardelli's was really good!
Quickest way to get kicked out of Louis Lunch is to ask for ketchup 😉
Haha that seems about right. 😂
If you want a good grinder in CT. go to Carbones in Torrington
yup
Go to wallingford ct go to rose's deli on rt 5. Or vinny's deli the king of roast beef. If you are looking for good burgers. I have a list while in ct. Franklin Giant Grinder in Hartford, CT.
Vavalas in Darien, colony grill Stamford
Ooo... that pizza looks really interesting.
And Milford Connecticut is the Home of the Hot Butter Lobster Roll invented in 1929 at a place called Perry's. It closed in 1977 but the 7 Seas is the king when it comes to the original hot butter Lobster Roll for almost 60 years
I thought when you said lobster roll that you were coming to my town Clinton since everyone rates Lobster Landing the best in New England
And agree on hitting Mystic!
We stopped in Mystic and loved it. Thanks for the recommendation!
Normal people in Connecticut call it pizza. Modern Pizza is the best better than Frank Pepe.
you have to eat it there. If its in the box to long it will steam the pizza. Also way to many toppings on a NH pizza
To get the true taste should have eaten it in the restaurant out of the oven…. On Wooster St New Haven original restaurant.. plain tomato with grated cheese the best
we say abeets
so weird, that dialect ... go say abeets in Italy and they'll have no idea what you're talking about.
Ah-Beetz
Abeets is italian slang for pizza spoken by most italians regardless of brand, unless of course you're talking about that thick chicago pan dough junk. Oh BTW more Italian slang for ya.... moots-adell, not mozzarella, monnygawht or moddygawt, not manacotti. Oh and a hike in east rock .... waddi got a death wish?🥴
So if your gonna do a review of good food in connecticut. Then maybe dont review a chain restaurant.
noochies deli waterbury CT. leagues better than nardellis
Louis' is pronounced
Loo-eez
Lobster Rolls make me fart
Your writing makes me PUKE! 🤮
