    HOW THE HELL does this guy have the balls to have a counter-claim when he has conned and stiffed FIVE DIFFERENT FAMILIES out of $2500. And then he just HAPPENS to sue for that amount. Why? We know he wasn't using it for his own rent, because clever lady just HAPPENS to have found his landlord and the landlord says he was actually evicting this guy in July for not paying rent.

      Haha bcuz the plaintiff didn't call the owner in as a witness so he THOUGHT that he could try to get away with it BUT after they snuck the owner in like they did, he knew his goose was cooked so when the judge asked him about his counter claim all he could say was.... "I have nothing to say on that matter" hahaha 😆 this was the absolute best peoples court I've ever seen! She got double what she was asking for lol good for her!

      I agree! This was such a good episode. I loved how they snuck the landlord into the audience so that the defendant would be more inclined to fabricate his story. It was great when the landlord raised his hand and the audience gasped/chuckled lol.

    This is the absolute wisest, most efficient plaintiff I have ever had the pleasure of hearing! People should watch this and take notes on handling lease and rental problems.

      @@firstlast1971 It didn't really matter though. Larry committed serious perjury and in one of those rare times, Milian decided to include punitive damages to the plaintiff's claim. Frances and Sheryl still got the full $5,000 thanks to her awarding punitive damages, which is rare.

    This is one of the best cases I have seen on People’s Court. As soon as the landlord stood up, it was over. He knew he was done. And to have a counter suit against her, just wow.

      He was planning to sublet a house to make money (even though he doesn't own the building) and he signed a lease with the plaintiff AND his wife''s sister, charging both women a high deposit.....and then, UH OH....he, himself, is being evicted and now he can't sublet the place, so he makes up this cockamamie story, trying to get out of it with the money still in his pocket. I bet you anything his eviction happened right around when he reneged on the deal.

    Harvey's question, "can you accept more than one deposit for a home or room?" No, that's the entire purpose of the deposit is to hold that home 😎. This defendant needs to be in prison for fraud, bc you know that he's not stopped that habitual behavior

      Accordimg what I know is there is a set amount per case. The winners money is subtracted and paid out. The remaining difference is than divided equally between plaintiffs and defendants.

      The court can freeze his accounts. Then a warrant can be issued to seize his assets. Of course, depends by state.

      Like the other comments state, court shows make the litigants drop their cases and have the cases "settled" via the show. The show pays the plaintiff the amount owed according to the ruling, so it's guaranteed payment.

      Yall don't know what you're talking about. PC DOES NOT pay judgments. There's a $500 appearance fee that is split between the plaintiff and defendant. If the plaintiff wins they get the defendant's portion and that is deducted from the settlement so the most a defendant gets away with is up to $250. After that it is a legally enforceable judgement that they pay. The show DOES NOT pay it.
      If you don't believe me Google it but why would I make all that up. You people saying "the show pays it" have no idea where you heard that you're just spouting off.

    This guy needs to be in jail, immediately. He should be paying so much restitution, the house that he claims to own should be sold in order to pay the multitude of fines and restitutions he owes. He should also spend a few years in lockup.

      he doesn't own it, hence the landlord there, so I don't think the real owner wants to sell it to pay the theif's debts

    Deposit case again.. In Norway both part has to go to the bank, open "deposit account", and the money can not be touched by any part. The money stay till the day the tenant mooves and both part has to sign and agree if everything is ok. Very secure!

      Me too. Milian was REALLY pissed at the defendant. Rare for her to include punitive damages unless somebody was caught in the act like what this defendant did.
