    The little hole was for a string keep so as not to let the string slide down the limb when unstrung. One end of the bowstring would remain in the nock and the other end would be tied with a small piece of string to keep it secure and on the bow.

    What a find ! Its all bout the history n who used it ehh £ come n go. Back in history you could let people know your a longbow man by giving them the ✌, thats why when you were caught they used to chop of those 2 fingers. So great piece of history you have there my friend 🤟

    I've got my Grandads bow 1800's treble laminated. Beautiful thing but a wall hanger.

      @@aidenfletcher6503 Thanks for sharing, this is the first time I've seen one similar for years.
      The one you have is in better visual condition.
      Mine has stress fractures, My uncle tried to draw it.
      BTW they have braided wire strings.
