@@Traveller10127 They designed it for a reason but that "reason" was designed with certain driving conditions in mind. The recommended psi might be designed so that the car would be at its most efficient state when driving in smooth highway roads which our highway is not. I am not saying don't follow the recommended psi but it is a good starting point/guide for regular people who are not into cars. Lower psi can be better than the recommended when driving on rough terrain since it allows the tyre to flex and conform to the terrain instead of hitting it roughly but it does increase the contact surface thus increasing rolling resistance but it provides more comfort as your car won't feel bouncy on that terrain. High psi is better for smooth road as the contact surface is smaller meaning lower rolling resistance so it will be easier for the car to go fast but has the downside of uneven wear since the contact surface is small. TL;DR: Start with the recommended psi by the manufacturer then adjust it based on the terrain that you will be driving on.
@@PsycherrrWow, thank you, Captain Obvious! We had no idea car manufacturers didn't anticipate the existence of rough roads when designing tires.
