Yes my grandma and mom used paper bags, no plastic bags back then, they also placed it on a paper bag to let it drain. It looks delicious I love catfish, thanks for sharing 🌟
I never will understand why people want to season the heck out of food. You can season catfish or a porkchop and it will all taste the same....... seasoning. Catfish has a great natural flavor and all is needed is flour and some salt. The same with chicken, shrimp, oysters and the list go's on & on. If it takes all the extra seasoning to "taste good" it's not being cooked properly.
wouldn't it have been easier to crack the egg into a bowl, add the spices, beat the egg and spices together, then coating the fish with it? The way you did it, you washed off some of the spices you had put on.

You could have and no I don't think it did! But what do I know. Was seasoned well and we enjoyed!
