- How to change the Differential Fluid on a 2018 VW Golf GTI Base. This applies to any car equipped with the Performance Package. A lot of dealers deny this is even a service item, but it's right in the manual.
I used G 060 175 1M DSP (G 060 175 A2) Fluid
AND WHT 007 168 drain plugs

Just serviced my differential thanks to your video. Everything went as it should!
If you service the PUMP as well, you will use more fluid. I would recommend when doing the very 1st fluid change (as you did), to service the pump as well. That will allow you to get all of the fluid out and at least check the "screen" and clean it. As the metals are breaking in, there may be some debris.
Furthermore, if ambient temp was much higher, that would affect the fluid temp. But, if you're just on the borderline - I would highly suggest starting the vehicle for a few minutes or a quick trip around the block (if you don't have an OBD reader).
I think that's fair. I wanted to service the pump but had a bit of difficulty in getting the o-ring, and my free time was drying up so i decided not to. Dealership here did not even know the LSD was a service item and it was difficult getting the haldex fluid. I probably should have got the car a bit warmer, but i know the fluid was above 20C, so i elected not to since I didnt want to keep putting off the change.
I got fluid leak in my clubsport, can you tell whats the possible cause?!
Any idea if the VAQ makes whoomig noise ?!
You need to get under the car and look, there’s no way I’m diagnosing that correctly via RUclips comment
How many miles did you have on your car? I know you said it was around 4 years but I didn’t catch the mileage
I would have been at 60,000km when I filmed this. 73,000 now. Not exactly high mileage.
How can you yell if you have the PP on the gti? Thanks
You can look for the diff, or just look at your front brake rotors. If they're the larger 340mm, you likely have a PP
