Misha's videos made me want to race at the Nürburgring, I took my old G27 and created a simulator, as a beginner I tried the first time with an RS3 but the more than 400 hp made the Nürburgring impossible for me hahaha I then decided to do it with a GTI and after about 2 hours I finally managed it, looking at Micha's video I see that the simulator came really close, the speed that the GTI reaches and the limit in the curves is exactly the real one!
I watched the video once for fun. Second time I watched I just paid attention to the instrument cluster and holy cow it seems like that GTI really performed.
More great memories! I did my first miles on track (Zolder) in my pre-facelift Mk7 GTI, which got me hooked… The stock brakes were the weak link in that car though. Safe and reliable but unbelievable wear on the pads… I also left the ESC on for safety without realizing it was constantly working the brakes

Still, 22 years after I sold it, I miss my Gti Edition One. For me most beautiful Golf of all time. Maybe I need to find myself another GTi again (mid life crisis?).
Good to see the rims are not standard. I bent a couple on the kerbs there last year. Lesson learnt, they GTI rims are made of cheese! The lap was great, I need to get back!

misha do you guys play with the VCDS settings for the brakes? we have been doing a lot of testing in the US at road atl and have found a couple tweaks to the VCDS brake module really expands the abilities of the stock brakes. So much so I was able to see over 1.5G in braking with good tires and pads. curious on how your build process will go for these cars and what coding mods you will do. my golf R has a dogbox and is ridiculously fun around the "green hell south"
Pity the polo can't be specified with IRS. If it's the same underpinnings of the golf surly the IRS components bolt into place. Lightweight polo with AWD and IRS would be an animal.

Most new dashes are configurable as to what information is displayed. For some reason this owner has it configured this way. It’s likely easy to toggle to something else.
The driver mod is clearly evident showing the fastest way to get quick isn't the car but the time on track.

I'm 37 and still driving Golf's (currently own a Golf 8 R). Never too old for these great cars, and with some mods they are great track tools.

GTI has also Perfomance pack which much better for track.

Misha what gauge you are using for tire pressure? And how much should it be the tire pressure driving on track?
We use various ones. Manthey and ISA Racing are my fav. Intercomp is good too. Pressure depending on the car and tire.
Misha please comment on which gearbox feels better the polo dq250 6 speed or the golf dq380 7 speed
They work nearly identical. The longevity of the Golf is probably better.
Why not just get another Cupra? Same car as Golf but cheaper?
