Yeah it's not slow. I think it got to 150mph+ on the fast stretch before any heat soak could happen, with 2 passengers. It has the power. It isn't a gutted track car.

Disable XDS in 03 ABS Brakes Disable “Starting Vibration” in 03 Change ESC settings from 09 to 06 in coding within ABS Brakes. Must do all the above and then traction will be completely off.

It is a Perfomance right? Does that LSD diff still work?? Also turn off the torque limiter in the ABS control module, via VCDS. Traction wont kick in anymore.
He needs OBDeleven (different than OBD-II) or VAGCOM to change settings allowing him to fully disable ECS/traction control - although it will still interfere slightly if you really break traction hard enough. Cobb AP3 would allow you to fully roast the tires if desired, as well as adding spark based traction control which makes a good difference as well
Misha, I drove your red Golf last year, had the same problem first laps especially in Carousel. Holding down the ESC for over 10 sec turned it completely off. :)

I remember back in the days watching Top Gear, not being able to disable the "actual" traction control was the bigges drawback, sure it was the Rabbit version but...
if you still have your balance shaft you dont want to rev above double what they can handle (which is 14 000, so 7k RPM) or you might break it and kaboom. Also you have no more torque gain above 6500RPM (roughly) so there's no point beside endangering your car in this setup

Because it's not a track car, he would never run into heat issues on the road. Mine is 380BHP with an IS38 and the stock oil cooler is perfectly fine for road use.
@@ollie8329 even still though, long trips, heavy loads, hot ambient temps. get stuck behind a bus in slow moving rush hour traffic in a heatwave. most cases you're okay, most cases your not driving the nords but in the times when you are in one of those cases you'll start to wish you done cooling first. even just upgrading the main radiator fan will go along way to keeping temps down.

Misha the traction control is off, its the Electronic Diff trying to engage, that why it cut power like traction control. newer cars equipped with Electronic lsd all do this, including BMW m2.
its not completely off, its in sport mode. Then it allows a bit more compared to fully enabled, but still kicks in when things get more wild. It can however be coded so that instead of Sport mode it will turn TC off completely, but in this case the display clearly states "ESC Sport" at 2:09 Regarding the LSD, if its a Performance, it even has a real LSD rather than an electronic one, but I'm not sure if it is a Performance or not
It doesn’t have a electronic differential. This is a myth. It is a electronic controlled mechanical differential. The XDS is the issue that no one disables, which is the system that applys brake pressure in certain cornering conditions. But this is no good for track use.

120 celcius is fine, as long as it doesnt go much over 130 you are safe but at these temperatures you really should run w40 or even w50 oil viscosity, w30 and lower will be too thin

i think the e-LSD is useless. i know you can code the e-LSD in 3 modes like (Standard, Weak, Medium, Strong) but im not sure if there is any real difference. All golf GTI's should came with an e-LSD from factory. but its just the brakes that will be activated the brakes handle the power. so your pads will be basically get hotter and hotter

The only reason it would engage the brakes is because the TCS needs completely disabling in VCDS. But yeah I imagine it's no where near as good as a mechanical one still, i've only ever experienced the VAQ

if the turbo is stock they cant go over 290 (safe for turbo). and if you want go over 290 you need twin scroll hybrid turbo (ko4 or whatever). and you can get 340 max (safe for engine). if you wanna go higher than 340 you need a couple of new forged engine internal. never mind this,... this is for EA888.2 engine. The EA888.3 (which is in the mk7) could hold 320 max with stock turbo. and the clubsport version of the engine (yes it has forged internals just like Golf R) you can get 390 max and 450 max with a bigger turbo

MK7 GTI uses IHI IS20 turbo, the Clubsprot and Golf R get the bigger IS38 😀@@speedydragon
You can fully disable ESP via VCDS in ABS brakes. Change coding from 09 to 06 and you'll get ESP off like in Golf R. Makes massive difference.

No, the traction control still kicks on. The 2015 S without a LSD does what you mentioned. But not the newer ones with a LSD.

Why is it shifting at 6200 rpm? I've seen some GTIs shifting that early. It is supposed to shift at at least 6750 rpm and if it is stage 2, 7000 rpm

The dials are in mph because it's a UK spec car, but they have changed the display to km/h because they're driving in Germany where km/h is used.

DSG's are more fun... and FASTER. why put so much energy in heel and toe or shifting while you can just press 2 buttons and focus on the track?

Nope, at the crank which is how we measure in the UK as thats how the manufacturers market them- we never buy a car based on its whp but its bhp, so thats why we measure in bhp when me modify 🤷🏼
