    nice video, did this service last year on my clubsport. i removed the pump at the same time, which was worthwhile as it was pretty dirty in there.

      @@LastHumansGarage nope, if u look just where the drain is, there's that unit which looks a little like a starter motor housing, that's the pump. I have a couple of pictures of the debris that was inside mine but I'm not sure how I'd share those with u

    I need to do this on my Octavia 245. The job looks an absolute ball ache. You have to do the pump at the same time. There is more oil in there and an oil screen that needs cleaned. After that, the thing needs electronic recalibration I think. I don't have the OBD stuff. I wouldn't trust a mechanic to do it correctly and not cut corners. I would need to stand over them to make sure they dont bullshit me.

      @@LastHumansGarageI did mine yesterday with the DSG service aswell and had a feel while I was doing the DSG filter. Realised how easy to access it was so got it drained and refilled while the battery was already off. From now on I’ll just change the fluid every time I do the DSG service, literally a 2 minute job while you’re in there.

    I wonder why the VAQ diff requires separate servicing vs aftermarket like wavetrac.

      @LastHumansGarage  3 года назад

      ya kinda weird.

    • @pokest225
      @pokest225 6 месяцев назад +1

      As you see, vaq is a clutch pack, separated from the gearbox. Similar to haldex awd unit. It needs it's own type of oil. The wavetrac diff is inside the gearbox, replacing the oem one. And obviously it's lubed by the gearbox oil. Totally different systems.

    Oh my god, i see the refillig oil . Thi is not the right way to do it. You need a brand new caps and take an old for fit a hose holder and fit anoter on the oil bottle cap, and connect with a transparent silicon hose. So you can put the oil bottle hogher and upside down and oil will refilled without lost a drop and very easy. Pay attention that every oil change is very important to clean the electric pump filter . For do it , extract pump from vaq and clean the little white screen filter or debris can stroke the pump causing a failure. Sorry for my poor anglish i hope you understand.
