    I bought the W502 5" version, and it is brilliant. Did full review on it as they also sent it to me. No regrets, no issues, bright in sunlight, smooth scolling, works with gloves, and just does work. Recommended.

    Good Day, US subscriber here, I recently purchased the W702B with BMW adapter for my 2023 BMW R1250GS Triple Black. I am very happy with the unit features and connectivity. I am an Android user, sorry know of your aversion to Android and reliance on the lemming community of iPhone (kidding lol), and I connect my phone to the W702B via WiFi and connect my phone to the bike via Bluetooth. I also connect my helmet Sena to the bike. This gives me control of the phone via the whizzy-wheel, including media and phone functions. Sena control features remain usable, and the W702B can also be used to control audio features as well. Seems like the best of both worlds to me. Thanks for another great video. Cheers from the US.

      Did I hear that right? Phone to w702 via WiFi. Phone & sena to bike via Bluetooth.... So in this setup, are you saying you can use the media (track change, pause etc) function via the bmw wonder wheel & also via w702?

    • @clilesny
      @clilesny 8 месяцев назад

      That is correct, best of both worlds.

      hi, as per your setup, is it possible that the BMW Connected App on the phone also works and records the ride data?

    • @clilesny
      @clilesny 6 месяцев назад

      @@Ext.Asst.toRakeshAgrawal-Zubin Yes, BMW Connected app on the phone records ride data. The phone is connected to the bike via bluetooth to support the integrated functions. The only issue I have seen is that sometimes I need to reconnect the phone to the bike, cycle bluetooth on the phone, so that audio plays in the helmet.

    • @Ext.Asst.toRakeshAgrawal-Zubin

      @@clilesny So the connection goes as Phone to bmw tft (Via Bluetooth) ... helmet to bmw tft(Via Bluetooth)... and phone to carpuride (Via Wifi)... in this setup wont the phone keep trying to reconnect to carpuride via bluetooth? Also if there is a video for this type of a connection , would be great!!

    The advantage of this unit over a purpose built unit like Tom Tom or Garmin is that I can upgrade the processor driving the mapping when i upgrade my phone. Also I can use any app I like rather than being locked in to a single supplier. My brother has a TomTom, the screen is small and the processor is very slow painting the display. I already fitted a high quality USB extension from under the seat to the handlebars and using this I have had no problems with power to the display. Finally with CarPlay when the unit powers on, say after filling the tank, it jumps right back to the mapping app I have left open on my phone. Also the unit is bright enough to see in strong sunlight.

    Great vid!
    I ordered one of these to use on my E-bike for Uber Eats and Doordash delivering, and I was wondering if I made the right choice. This convinced me that it was a great impulse buy. The ability to completely use my phone while having my phone safely in my pack is a big relief.

    Also have the 702B on my R1200R but maybe I should have gotten the 5inch screen as it scales better with the R bike.
    However 10:40 the 7 is very nice to see the detailed map or split screen.

    I bought the X2 from Garmin and it's the first and last product I'll ever buy because it's a nightmare to use. I have three bikes, and another on order, I don't mention this to show off, I mention it to illustrate how Garmin have lost a lot of potential business. The more I look at your excellent video, the more I'm inclined to get my new GSA fitted with this.

    A brilliant video, thank you. So, as somebody who's got an R 1300 GSA with the ASA coming in March, which of the two devices is more reliable and is the best, and don't worry about Price. Viewers would ask because you've had a experience on both which is invaluable when trying to make a purchase decision.

    Great post, however I don't see the point in this over a smart phone in a holder? OK you can use the "wiz wheel" to change things however whats wrong with just using the smart phone. You can use a smart phone on the bike or put it in your jacket pocket, the maps directions will work either way. If the phone says in 100 meters turn left and you can't follow those simple instructions use a MAP!

      You can’t use the whiz wheel, but you can get one of these for £170 rather than £1500 for a new smart phone if anything happens to it.

      Multiple issues with just using your phone.. other than poor glove support, poor visibility in sunlight, vibration risks on your camera, the thing that convinced me was .. what if I come off the bike, am lying injured and need to call someone urgently. Where is my phone?? 30m away hidden in the grass. No thanks, want it safe in my pocket.

Are most of the Maps and apps free (with exception of the phone data)? I do not travel long distances and mostly need a unit primarily if I would get lost. I appreciate any guidance!

    Hi, whislt you have the Carpuride, PackTalk etc all connected and working, have you tried to connect another Cardo unit to your Cardo via Mesh. Curious, because I run Android and when I connect my wifes headset via mesh, I appear to loose voice connection from Andriod Auto, no navigation instructions, no music or voice control. Look forward to find out if you have tried it. Everththing worked OK when using the BMW TFT & Navigator 6 so I'm guessing its something to do with the Carpuride connections.

      Thats typical of Chinese products. Full of marketing claims and none of these youtubers who receive the units for free will tell the truth as they want to earn affiliate marketing fees.

  • @12masterr

    • @DonegalOverlanding
      @DonegalOverlanding 3 месяца назад +1

      They already released a new version which costs more that has auto dimming. It just shows how shockingly poorly these devices are planned. They release a cheap product, give them free to youtubers who then like to forget the downsides, then they sell loads, the company gets loads of suggestions and in essence, youre all beta product testers because they have no interest in doing any proper R&D like proper companies with a history. Just wait until you try and get it repaired or whatever, they will be gone in the night and you will get zero support.
