    Several folks asked about using the Carpuride Apple Car Play while still having your phone and comm unit paired to the Pan America. It works. With my Cardo Pack Talk paired to the bike, my iPhone paired with the bike, and the iPhone also connected to the Carpuride via wireless Car Play, the audio integrations with the Pan America still work. The volume control and media buttons on the left hand control work, and you can answer calls using the handlebar controls as well.
    In my case, I could never get a reliable audio connection between the Pan America and my Cardo Packtalk, but if you happen to have a unit with a good connection to the bike, you can keep those connections and add the Carpuride unit in addition if you like.

      Hello, I bought this device recently however, the problem is voice guidance from navigation apps e.g. Sygic is not transmitted to my helmet head set. I connected using both methods but non worked. I contacted manufacture also, they could not solve the problem. My question to you: is voice guidance transmitted to your head set. Please advise.

    Just thought you'd like to know I just mounted my Carpuride unit last night using my existing QuadLock system. I just unscrewed the RAM ball from the back of the unit, tapped the threads out to 5MM and bob's your uncle. It's a little far forward for my preference, but I saved myself $50 buying additonal RAM stuff to make it work.

    Hi Mike,
    Thanks a lot for the very informative video.
    FYI and the users of Carpuride you don't have to factory reset the unit to disengage it from your intercom....
    From the Home Screen, you have to go to the Audio output (Purple Button) and choose your preferences.
    IPlay/Auto: For your intercom to be connected directly to your phone and Carpuride is just a mirror of your phone (For me the best too), or
    BT Trans: If you would like the Carpuride to be in the middle of your phone and your intercom with all the consequences you're referring.
    You can change this on the go at any time....
    I've just tried it...!!

Have my SC2 on my Schuberth C5 bluetoothed to my phone and the functions are working well . I don't have handlebar button functions but use a chubby buttons device on the handlebars and that works safer for me to pause music , answer calls or skip tracks

    Fantastic review - you've captured the good, bad and indifferent superbly well.
    Your "glitch" has happened to me a couple of times on my Android setup - some kind of connection issue with the phone (Samsung), I think. It required a reboot, which isn't easy when riding. Frustrating, but not a deal breaker.
    I did have issues with the first unit I had...customer service was delayed as you say, but acceptable. They directed me to carry out a firmware update, which resulted in the unit becoming an expensive brick - completely dead! That said, they sent me a new unit immediately and completely free-of-charge, which already had the firmware update installed and it has worked fine except for the "glitches" already mentioned; they didn't ask that I return the failed unit, so it sits on a shelf in case they decided to collect.
    Great video. Thank you.

    For reference, the Garmin Zumo XT, supposed to be the apex predator of Motorcycle GPS units, also reacts to raindrops as phantom touches. Funny, I have the exact same Lee Parks gloves too and I love them! I ordered the W502B for my BMW R1250R and it snaps nicely into the BMW NAV VI cradle. Couldn't be any easier. First ride tomorrow...fingers crossed. Keeping the mount for my Garmin Zumo XT on the bike until I feel comfortable with the Carpuride's reliability. Thanks for the video!

    • @NJMike67
      @NJMike67 12 дней назад +1

      @@BrunoFriedmann Carpuride went back. The touch screen didn't work with any of the gloves I own. The screen size was fine, as the 7" would be far too big for my bike. I now have a Ricoel 5" unit that works ok with touch and functionality. I will likely keep using my phone on Quadlock with the XT mounted front and center to keep from having all eggs in the smartphone basket. If something goes wrong with your phone you are kinda stuck.

    • @NJMike67
      @NJMike67 11 дней назад +1

      I will add that the functionality is pretty good across all devices, but there are some limits. I run both Scenic and MRA (not simultaneously). CarPlay limits what can be displayed on the screen (not sure about Android Auto). There doesn't seem to be a way to pan around the screen by dragging like you can with the XT. Both apps are pretty solid tho, and I know you can run MRA on Android Auto, if that's your jam. I run the bluetooth audio settings so that the phone is connected directly to my Cardo and not through the CarPlay Unit.

    • @BrunoFriedmann
      @BrunoFriedmann 11 дней назад

      @@NJMike67 Thanks a lot for your report: I'm looking for a robust solution like the Zumo hardware (good touch screen, luminosity, endurance) but with the convenience of using directly MRA (my main planning things) if possible without draining the battery of the phone that I would like to keep with me (in case of ejection of the bike). And of course keep cardo connected to phone, gps unit and Madame 🙂

    • @NJMike67
      @NJMike67 11 дней назад +1

      @@BrunoFriedmann MRA is great. What I find to work is to create route on MRA then transfer it to the Zumo using the down arrow from MRA on the phone, saving it as a GPX 1.1 or 1.2 then sending it using Drive. Doing that it mostly obeys. Garmin works best if you put a TON of shaping points so it almost acts as a track. When it thinks for itself is when things go bad.

I can see mounting on the clutch/brake reservoir but this is not ideal. I actually consider this dangerous. Just for context, i have 45 states on this bike and really want it for map display. Yes, with the phone connected directly to your headset, all normal Hey Siri and headset controls should work as it normally would. • @MikesMotorbikeChannel

      No way to recalibrate as far as I’m aware. I think it’s pretty typical for speedometers to read a little higher than actual speed as they need to account for variations in tire size and wear. If it were the other way around and your speedometer indicated you were doing the speed limit but you were actually going over, you’d have a case to sue the vehicle manufacturer for any speeding tickets you received.

    Hi Mike,
    Quick question did you have issues detecting the Carpuride wifi on your iphone? i use a Iphone 15 and i have been struggling with this. Carplay wont start without the wifi connection. Any thoughts?

      No issue at all on my iPhone 13. I connected it exactly how I show in the video though Bluetooth which as I understand then sets up the wifi connection on it's own. No issues at all on my end.

    Also how did you hardwire yours?

      currently hardwired direct to the battery, so I need to manually turn it on and off. Next time the tank is off for service, I plan on wiring it to the accessory connector under the seat so that it turns on and off with the bike.

    Before purchase Amazon said delivery in 8 days. After purchase estimated delivery in 21 - 49 - that is not ok😡

    Who buys from China, Amazon with next day delivery, the tried a trusted method, with easy cheap returns. Your returns nonsense is to be expected buying from overseas and not peculiar to Carpuride. Plus secured payment. Still a fat better option than Tomtom or Garmin, and Far more price competitive. Had all the same mounting issues with Tomtom and Garmin, we tinker to get it as we like it depending on the bike. It’s a great step forward .
