I hope you find this video on filling in gaps and cracks on pottery, ceramics or porcelain useful. 😊
I think I must have used 5 packs of milliput since I discovered it, and restoration a couple of years ago. Its fantastic! 👍
Many thanks for your comment, yes it is a great product. 😀
Is there a video showing how to sand after the milliput dries? Thank you.
I use tile adhesive
Tile adhesive is ok for thicker pieces of pottery. I tend to use Araldite on all my projects. Many thanks for your comment. 😃
Hello! Thank you again for the video! Would you use this same technique for a hairline fracture in a piece, for example, a mug that is not broken apart, but oozes slightly when holding liquid through the hair line crack? Or is a bit of glaze on the outside enough to stop the oozing? Try to save a few pieces from becoming unusable!
You could use Milliput to fill in the cracks, although you will have to check with the manufacturers instructions for food safety.
hi Elly, I found it is difficult to match glaze color of blue and white china, will you have another video to show how to paint after sanding?
Hi there, yes finding the right colour tone is always tricky. I will be finishing the tile with sanding and painting. 👍
Great. Do you hv the next video showing how to sand it and make the repairing line become almost invisible?
Yes, soon
What putty, glue and acrylic paint would be ideal for tea cups?
Milliput Super fine white, Araldite slow curing and Winsor and Newton Professional Acrylic.
Milliput is amazing stuff! I've done probably 20+ repairs since u showed me how. It's so versatile. I need a case of it bc now im on a roll lol i also got windsor and Newton pro paints and they're very good quality in comparison to the few other brands ive gotten. My question now is how to i go about making the milliput repairs the same tone as the clay or porcelain materials the items are made of? And what about gilding? Also what are the rules or ethics when it comes to buying/selling repaired items? I do have a few higher end pieces ive yet to touch. Should i repair or do collectors prefer not?
Hi is milliput food safe? Trying to repair a cermaic cup
Hi there, yes it is, but first read the manufacturers instructions to confirm 👍 😀
I have a mug that's broken apart into various sizes, one large piece and several smaller pieces. Would this work or could I use Gorilla glue or super glue?
I would use Araldite slow curing glue to prevent a lockout. I do have other videos on multiple breaks.
@@theceramicrepairstudio lockout?
What would you use to repair a teapot lid that is safe re heat and also non-toxic?
Hi there, unfortunately with a broken teapot lid, if you glue it back together when in use the steam will soften the glue and will come apart again unless it is just for decoration.

I use Milliput, which is easy to sand down and paint.
Is is possible to use this method to fill in a crack on a Mexican terra cotta ceramic dove whose head has been glued back on? Is it possible to disguise the crack left?
Yes you could use Milliput to fill in the cracks.
