    Called my local dealer in AUS to see if they have one in stock , answer was NO and we ai t ordering any, i have to drive 2 hours to get a look at one in the flesh, love my gen1 but keen for this bike

      In Wisconsin, I paid about 17,00 OTD. Additional $1,100 Michigan sales tax, license plate, registration and title. Paid cash. I'm 57, male, single and have a clean driving record. I went with liability insurance from State Farm which cost me $191 for 12 months. That will last me three years because I only ride four months of summer. I suspend the insurance during storage. The dealership I bought from is a little pricey but extremely reliable. I've read people got this bike for $16,000 plus tax but who knows if that's true? Google said $17,000 and that's what it ended up to be for me even with the rebates available at the time of purchase. The rebates have probably reduced now, I picked mine up two weeks ago on the last day of April. LOL have not ridden it yet. Scared! I rode a Gen1 for 13 years and with all the weightloss mods I did, it was almost 200 lbs lighter than this stock Gen2 ZX-14R. With a race exhaust and removing unnecessary parts and replacing other parts with with lightweight aftermarket stuff, you can get the Gen1 down to the weight of a literbike. LOL it will cost you as much as you paid for the bike but you can do it over several years and it is OH so worth it. The Gen2 14R not only maintained the reputation of being a great big ol girl but bested it by 90 lbs. She's undisputedly the strongest the industry has offered us in hyperbikes though. I believe she's going the way of the dodo within a few years so get one while they're still available fresh and new. Both the Gen1 and Gen2 have superb longevity so buying used isn't a bad option either. I've heard of owners doing triple digits every ride with 100,000 miles on the clock. My 08 had over 50,000 miles and it went from 50 to 160 in a few seconds just like when new. 49,000 miles and it did almost 180 with a +4 rear sprocket and was still climbing, another thousand rpm to go before redline. I'm sure it would have done over 190 with stock gearing. Be reasonable if you get one. Watch for those damn deer! That's took me an my 08 out three years ago. I'll be riding my new baby pretty slow on the street. Still have the wreck of my 08 and plan to rebuild or buy a used Gen1 and paint it to look just like my old bike. Also, I own a 2008 Hayabusa and as much as I love the ZX-14, the busa is a higher quality bike and I'm going to say it's faster than my Gen1 ZX-14 was. A Gen2 Hayabusa would be my pick between it and a Gen1 ZX-14. You can't knock the looks of the Gen2 Hayabusa and it is faster up to 65 mph but who wants a hyperbike that's not very fast after 65 mph? No one ever, that's who!! I would not recommend a Gen2 Hayabusa unless you're ok knowing it's the slowest hyperbike manufactured in the last 25 years. Nothing beats the Gen2 ZX-14R for top speed, stability at speed and low end acceleration to go right along with it. I really miss my 08 ZX-14 though. It was high time to get a 14R though. Like I said, they might not be available brand new in a few years.

    Scratch right muffler, fingerprints all over it. Need to clean it before you make a video.
