Pamela Power was absolutely superb as the lady at the DHSS, with that wonderful resigned look of someone who had heard it all before and knew exactly how to respond.
I was in love with Peter Howitt
the house was a tardis inside 😂
He was wonderful in his leathers!
I never got the impression from 'Bread' that it portrayed Scousers as workshy scroungers, I just saw it as a family surviving tough economic times by working the system as best they could, which was happening all over Britain, I dare say. It certainly was the case in London too.
A poor TV show.
Bread was not poor Tv show many people watched it even me i still watch repeats on thats tv.
Pamela Power, who played the DHSS is brilliant in this.
Greetings!
Joey is. And. Was. So. Good. Looking. In. Bread
the grandad was so funny in this
R.i p Eileen Pollock lilo lil you were a legend
wish this was on main bbc channels more often. I miss it!
She was brilliant Martine or Martina😂 they couldn't get nowt past her
I loved the first couple of series.
fucking love bread
I love Peter! (Joey), still think he's hot.
he is not anymore but he was once when he was 29.
Peter Howitt was the best Joey I didn't like the actor who played him after. Bread is the best
Graham Bickley took over after Peter Howitt. He was good but after Howitt left it lost something. Same with Gilly Coman who played Aveline.
I like both Joey's yes I did like Peter better but I did like Graham as well as for Aveline only Gilly was aveline
13 years ago your post....
Peter Howit should of stayed on the show but wanted to do different things.
My favourite line of his was when he was talking to his dad, about some girl he had broken up with because;
"She kept slamming the door of me Jag!"
we started a gardening buisness to get enterprise allowance never did a stitch of work
"starring Peter Howitt and Carla Lane." Carla Lane was the writer, she didn't star in it! You'd have thought that someone at the BBC would have known this.....
Personally I think was underrated, was do funny, and still id
I use to. Watch bread. When. I. Lived. At. Home. With. My.um. And. Dad. Ian. 60. Now. And. Still. Enjoy. Watching. It
ooooooo get you!!!!
one summer pre-dates this and puts liverpool in a worser light. ie stealing nicking, mugging etc.
Best liverpool dramas are black stuff and brookside imo
@numberonebeatlesfan9 that must be worth millions
BRILLIANT !!!!But If I WAS JOEY I Would HAVE DITCHED THE LEATHER JEANS !!!!😣DODGY OF OR WHAT 😣😣😣😣For a Pair OF LEVIS mate & I WANTED HIS JAG 😈g
Came here to remind myself how diabolical this series was. Shocking fake Scouse accents, a diabolical depiction of people from the North West. Appalling stuff. Why this was commissioned is anyone's guess.
I believe the milk snatcher (MT) enjoyed this series, along with stereotyping northerners
i loves bread still so what they had fake accents in alot actors in comedy shows did.
many of us loved bread i still do now many British actors did fake accents on tv.
If I lived on their street I’d have been chasing Joey. He was absolutely gorgeous back then. I love that women at the Jobcentre she was brilliant. Doesn’t she fall in love with Joey? 🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️♥️😂😂
Same I thought they should have got together and not that cheating Roxy
In later episodes I think she fell in love with the really melodramatic one, not Joey.
She fell in love with Shifty
Your gorgeous too coooorrrrrrrhhhhh.
