Hi! Glad I found your video, and Congratulations on taking the RUclips step!, look forward to seeing more from you!. OMG that bowl with the Magical Mist and AJ peacock bowl with the Hot Tamale/Jaded IS AWESOME!!! LOVING the mug with the blue handle! Im going to have to try that combo! OK, so they are ALL pretty FANTASTIC! Thank you for your glaze combo combos!
Can't get enough of your textured handbuilt pieces. I'd love to watch a video of how you attach the textured base of those mugs...I admire how smoothe the connection is...mine are chunky and rough.. well done love the dragon's eye and fairy Rose glaze combination.
Enjoyed your first video with my am coffee. You did a great job. You 've lovely glaze combos and hope to borrow some ......hope you continue with the videos. Until the next one, happy clay making. Jeanne from FL.
Thank you!! Well I've watched lots of kiln openings and didn't want to not remember like so many people but I realized I need to write it backwards so it will be in the right order of them coming out, lol...thanks for watching!
Hi Starlynn! Welcome to the RUclips world! Your video was fine. Congrats on a great kiln opening! I think there's a setting on your camera where you can turn off the auto-focus. That may help you. You'll still need to manually adjust for close-ups...or edit them in later...but once you focus it will stay at that focal point. I've subscribed, and am looking forward to more content! Keep 'em coming!
Hi Starlynn! Welcome to the fantastic 'Potters-on-You-tube' community! No need to be nervous, just be you, and have fun with it. The rest you will learn along the way, just like pottery. Maybe turn off auto focus on your camera? I am not that tech savvy either, lol. Great kiln opening, I've subscribed and am looking forward to more! Happy Potting, Monique
Thank you! I have a bisque load ready to glaze so will be filming again in a week or so! I have a "movie" mode on my camera so that is what I've been using. I think I will try a different vantage point next video and see how it works :). It's a journey, right? Thanks for watching and subscribing!!
So fun to watch! I’m right at the point that this video is perfect- trying to learn about different combos! You may have said, but was this to come 5 or 6, and if just 5, what is your process in deciding 5 or 6?
Hi! thank you! I usually program for cone 5. Because my kiln is fairly new so it fires a little hotter to usually 5-6 even if prog to 5! If I have a lot of glazes I want to melt and run, like the peacock technique, I will program a cone 6. I use cones so I know if parts of my kiln fire hotter so I can also put more pots on that level that I want to run more or put pots on cooler levels that I know run a little anyway, even at cone 5, so I don’t want them to get too hot and run too much and stick to the shelf! This is a lot of info! Let me know if it makes sense-I just woke up😁-or if you have any questions👌
@@SoulHavenPottery-gt2gf this is super helpful- thank you! I had a successful first bisque fire in my new kiln but am so nervous about the first glaze run!
@@Bthospo yay!! You will be fine…just do it for you and for fun in the beginning and eventually you will know what different glazes do alone or together with others…it’s a process but be gentle with yourself and just enjoy it💗
@denisejohn4589, You mean how did I do it? I put all the dried glaze out of almost empty glaze bottles (they had dried out) into a jar…multiple glazes but they were all stable Amaco glazes. Just squeeze the plastic bottles and shake them and the dried glaze will come off the sides. Pour all the pieces into a jar and add some water to cover 1/2 way up the dried glaze. Wait. Stir and shake. Add more water and wait some more. Add more water to desired consistency. Then stir it up and brush it on your pieces. It will be a test! So use cookies under your pieces in case the glaze runs a lot😉
🥰Thank you so much…I have a website-in maintenance mode now-I haven’t been good at keeping up with it! I also work full time as a nurse and should be going part time soon so I can focus more on the “business” part of the pottery. When I get it together and have a shop update/sale I’ll post that and if you are in Los Angeles, I have applied to be at the Beverly Hills Art Show this May!
Thank you! I do! Most at a Vintage Flea market I do sometimes. They have an artists row but I'm not sure if it's the right venue for pottery! So, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do it. I'm not good at keeping up with my website either and I've been thinking I might try Etsy. TMI...I'm sure!
Your little "oooh!!!" when you opened it was so cute!
Thanks my friend, I was containing my enthusiasm but it was still genuine :)

Thanks! I will definitely. I’m a nurse in my other life lol, so I have to do that 3 days a week, but I’m glazing today and tomorrow!!!😬

What cone did you do , as learning about glazes and temperature, lovely work 🌻
Thank you..I program for cone 5 with an 11 min hold but my kiln is new so it fired hot. This load was a hot cone 5

Love all the combos! Is the stroke and coat a paint on glaze? Who makes that again?
Thank you! Stroke and Coat is a cone 06-5/6 glaze by Mayco. Yes, brush on😀
Your peacock bowls are beautiful! Have made a few in the past, but they are not bright like yours. Show us how you did it.
Thank you! I will be filming a how to on glazing a bowl soon...
Hi there can you tell me what you did not rehydrate the dried up glazes please? Thx.

Enjoyed this. Good luck with the camera focus. I guess it's a learning curve.
Thank you for watching💗yes..learning curves galore! My more recent videos are much more in focus😁
These are absolutely beautiful. If you sell your pottery I would love to know how and where to find it. ❤️
