@@soverignbeing8 and Oatmeal I usually put x2 just at the top because it can run a lot. You can put a thinned (with water or gum solution) coat half way down and the second coat on top half way down from the top of the first coat. Sometimes it’s tricky depending on firing temp and all but try one thick coat at top (under the text “top”) about a one inch band or like I described in 2 staggered coats

Thanks Amanda! Yes just hold the stencil in place and brush a thick slip then carefully peel away the stencil. I cut the flowers out of a bigger stencil to make it easier. The jewelry slab I just roll out very thin..maybe 2-3mm? They are super lightweight. I use a rolling pin after the slab roll to get desired thinnesses.

The light flux is the beige or tan colored one and the other colors are Mayco Stroke & Coat glazes. I think I listed all the colors i used at the beginning of the video, but I’ll check but you can use any colors of your own choice! That’s the beauty of Stroke & Coat glazes 😊 the last glaze is Sandstone by Mayco and a little Amaryllis (the pink) at the end

I’m pretty sure the colors are Rosey Posey, TuTu Tango, Grapel, Jaded and Blue Isle

What could go wrong did lol..From me inadvertently turning off the computer on the kiln. Restarting. Didn't get to tep..lol.. Everything in the kiln was an experiment, with different clay and glazes? So i'm not upset, I just feel stupid..lol

Glazing on the bottom is tough unless you use an underglaze that won’t stick to the shelf and it will be matte usually. It’s hard to get plates / bowls to fire without warping unless they are flat on the shelf so glazing the bottoms of pieces like that is usually not something I do but good luck.

@@SoulHavenPottery-gt2gf Oh that’s really interesting! It took them an awful long time to make it again. I have a TON of greenware that I wasn’t able to fire during the winter so I’ve tried it on a bunch of things. It’s sooo easy. It goes on like glaze but is just clay. No worries of melting or sticking to shelves, it’s just colored clay.

Hi! So the clay shrinks some in the bisque and then shrinks more in the glaze fire and I had put the bottom of my bowl perfectly in that broken ring but as it shrank it “shifted”…or moved off the cookie and one side fell off and that’s where it stuck! When new don’t go rogue and do tricky balancing with broken cookies, LOL. Just keep it simple, use good stilts or cookies and you will be fine👍🏻💗have fun!!! Ask questions whenever, happy to explain or help .

Hi! I brushed Coyote Ancient Iron over the flower...and inside. That's the only Coyote glaze I have in my pottery notes that I used. I tend to layer glazes in a painterly way so it's hard to explain and I wish I could share before photos here. Sometimes I just lightly brush over texture so it stays on the top of the texture and not down in it so that is what I did with the Ancient Iron. I'll try to edit this! Hi Amanda! It came out ok…for my first one at least, lol, I didn’t expect it to! It was too soft to stamp the bottom tho, and it got a little wonky when I tried to clean it up so I think I will just sand the seams off next time when it’s dry? I got a mug too! Will try that tomorrow 😬

@SoulHavenPottery-gt2gf the cleanup is definitely the hardest part! It's kinda like carving, where you have to wait till the perfect leatherhardness to take them off and not smush the whole thing! Use the mold itself to hold the piece as you're working on it, rotating it, helps perfectly cradle it and stabilizes it better than holding it in your hand! You'll do great with a little practice!!

Well..it was the only thing I put on the inside. I think it’s more that it was too thick. I hadn’t used it in a while! I refired after adding some Amaco Iron yellow and it smoothed out!

Thanks Michele! Yes! I’ve seen those stilt molds…thought about getting some! The combo for that mug isIndigo float x3-4 in and out (top half out) Ancient Jasper x2 over IF. indigo flt over top of AJ again and iron yellow over that and tiny bit of lt flux . That was copied from my pottery notes app I would send a photo of before if I could. This is a runner! It could do without the indigo float again over the AJ.

Oh! And the lamp shade wasn’t cracked!! Yay! It was something I was seeing through the glaze from the inside👍🏻

And I do also wipe then wax…i could have forgotten those but I’ve been doing it that way for so long I think it was problem was that Cream glaze was too thick for sure on the ones that crawled. Good idea to cut off the pins!

Well I got it in person at the Laguna clay store in Los Angeles but you should be able to google Mr. Marks wax and Wear Repair? I think I got the wax at Sheffield Pottery? but it’s been so long since I’ve had to buy any!
