    I love Hoya repotting videos just to see the different soil mixes people use. It’s funny that I’ve had my Hoyas a little over a year and they’re twice as big if not bigger than yours I think because mine are outdoors with plenty of sun light. They grow like crazy and all have peduncles. Hoyas are so cute I love your collection

    I loved seeing you're polyneura. So many people make them seem like an almost impossible hoya to do well with.

    I loved all your hojas. I’m staring to collect hojas along with all the other house plants I have. I’m a plant person just like my mom was. I like the fact that I can see everything you were doing to your plants and you did not have all the words across the screen. You were very clear explaining what you were reporting. Thanks

    Spring is for plant chores, repotting is my favourite thing to do and watch actually.
    I drown all my plants in the sink or shower every couple months to make sure all the soil gets saturated, then water in its spot in between. I also wash pots to reuse them for a different plant to ensure there’s nothing spreading that you don’t want to the new plant like eggs or fungus etc.

    Very good job editing this video. Many repotting videos drag, but not yours. Liked it!

    Great repotting video, enjoyed it a lot! Thanks for showing how dry rot looks like. Have you ever re-rooted in water?

    • @sproutswithjoy
      @sproutswithjoy  3 месяца назад +1

      So glad you liked it! As far as re-rooting goes, I've done it in water once before, so it definitely also works and is the most straightforward. Sphagnum moss is just my personal favorite propagating medium, and I usually put it inside of a clear, closed bin or my greenhouse cabinet--the plants seem to love the extra humidity and it helps them root faster!

    I love Hoyas! Have soooo many but I treat them like I am still rooting them instead of actual plants. Seems scary to pot them up … I just need to try a few! Yours look so cute all potted up 💚🌱

    I stopped buying Hoyas rooted in soil and I’ve been much happier and the plants do better.

    • @sproutswithjoy
      @sproutswithjoy  3 месяца назад

      that's a good tip! I might start doing that. I feel like a lot of the hoyas that have been shipped to me have wound up with dry rot within a few months even though I feel like I'm watering them enough 🙃

      @@sproutswithjoy yes, and trying to swap them over to a new media is the WORST with soil I find. Moss is ok, I can get most of it off.

    Thanks for your video. Your hoyas are beautiful. Can you tell me what’s in your chunky soil? 🙂🪴

      Thank you! I use a mix of Happy Frog potting soil, orchid bark, coconut husk, chunky perlite, and worm castings :). I pretty much just eyeball the ratio until I'm happy with the consistency.

    Hi. I watched you with your Hoya repotting. I was wondering what kind of chunky soil you were using for them? Thank you. I am also dealing with some pests on my Hoya. Do you use something as a preventative or do you treat them with anything for pest?

    • @sproutswithjoy
      @sproutswithjoy  3 месяца назад +1

      Of course! I mix up my own using Happy Frog potting soil, orchid bark, coconut husk, chunky perlite, and worm castings :). As far as pests go, I deal with mealy bugs on my hoya most often. I remove any that I can see using rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab, and then I regularly spray the plant with whatever I have on hand to treat the mealies (I like to rotate what I use, but what I currently have in the cabinet is Arber's bio insecticide). If it's a really bad infestation, I'll resort to bonide systemic granules. Hope that's helpful!

      @@sproutswithjoy I knew by looking at you chunky potting mix that you made you own. I do the same, but I haven’t used any coconut husk and I haven’t tried chunky perlite. I will have to try the alcohol for Pest Control
