The build is really nice, but this video is less "how" and more "watch me" build an iron age base. I'd love some tips explaining generally what kind of decisions and considerations one should make when making an iron age base.
What I do is make a double floor and put a roof piece between them, the top one will still take rain damage, but it will not rain through it and the inside layer hence will not take damage, but still appear as a flat roof.
There is, you can line the top floor with stone floor tiles if you do enough cross beams with iron stemming from iron support beams. It may be difficult but I have managed it on a few of my bases.
Had watched your videos before, but am just getting back into Valheim since last May, and saw this gem. From someone who is more of the Medieval form follows function, but with just a dab here and there of ornamentation school, watching this was a treat. I like my buildings, dense, warm and mildly fortified, but natural and not sticking out egregiously from the landscape, just how I like my...subscriptions. ;) Thank you Vetlive, from those of us who like to keep it simple yet interesting!
The fact that you build all of these without using flight, despite clearly using nobuildcost, is honestly astounding and kinda inspiring. You're still using the same ladder/platform "scaffolding" just showing that any of these can be built reasonably easy without debug mode on so long as you have the resources and desire.
Depending on how long it has been you might be in for a shock. I always advise starting over if it's been many months. (I find it more fun that way, I know most don't)
Would’ve really enjoyed a more step by step process because I’m noticing some small missed parts that towards the end of the build stuff doesn’t fit or stuff starts breaking because of support issues.
Looks awesome. A great castle build utilizing both Wood & Stone both a features in the build. I’d put some more lights at the top though. Would have liked to see how you decorated the Stone part of the castle.
Great video, actually as always. You just get to the business - no talk needed, just amazing work with building, calm and relaxing music. Keep it up! Maybe some chinesse style base next?
Thanks you and i have to admit, the design with open top tower really help defending the base when hard raid happen(im using mod so you cant just cheese out enemy like vanilla).
Yea another great build, it still puzzles me thought how you can build the main floor inside the castle off the ground and no risk to it breaking cause the size of it without having supports under it. Unless you put supports under the floor and we don't see that part.
it would still deteriorate from rain he prob just repairs it but if you want you could just add a layer of roofing just under the top wood floor and just repair the top floor
I really like the wooden buildings attached to the stone tower. Looks so nice.
How can you call it iron age if you've used darkwood roofs and other stuff

I know this is just a video game, but if you aren't an architect in real life, I think you missed your calling! Very impressive build.
Nice to see Valheim builds of yours again, it's been a while. 👍
Sadly when it rains the water will keep leaking through the wooden floor, I wish there was a flat roof... Looks nice though!

@@Lintary And I'm not copying this. Thanks :D
@@Lintary im stealing your technology’s, thank you 😊

I really like this. You're builds and videos are always so well done. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!

Great new build! I haven't played Valheim in a while and this made me happy and interested to play again. Thank you

Ive put in a lot of hours into valheim but taking a break tell mistlands drops. Great looking build as always.

I’m in love with this build and doing my best to construct my own from the inspiration

valheim builders are a rare breed of perfectionists
Fairly simple yet extremely well done. Love this, man!
Valheim hits different man
as always this is an insane craft, great job!
stunning. I need to go back to Valheim some day!
Thank you so much for such a great video! It's very meditative!
Hope we see you again with the new Ashlands update sir!
You are an artist, nice work.
Flawless Victory!
Thanks for the video, love your valheim builds ❤
I wish youd post the interior build tutorial :( especially how to do the staircasing for this certain house
The roof is of darkwood...so... not available in early iron age.
Absolutely goergous
the wood roof is the only thing ill change to a stone roof since we have wood decaing with rains
thanks for the content
I wish you included more of the interior after decorating. Does that wooden floor count as shelter while in the stone building?
I'm just unable to build that high of stone wall... how it was supported?
It Messes With Me That You Turned One Of Those First Floors The Wrong Direction. And It’s Just One One The Bottom Left Corner Lmao

this is why he added those iron supports but covered them with wooden struts
@@Hellbeckons I'm trying the same build right now and iron supports don't help much, the stones on the top 2 layers keep breaking.
@@EFOZM wait til the new xpac is out,i played it and theres a new stone and metal
it's great, you inspire me)
I'd like to download this construction, but in Discord, there's no file anymore
How do you keep the wooden flooring on the top of the castle from deteriorating with the rain?
it would still deteriorate from rain he prob just repairs it but if you want you could just add a layer of roofing just under the top wood floor and just repair the top floor
Amazing!👏👏👏
Iron age: uses tar roof. Noice
Hard to believe you only had 1 Greyling try to attack you. Every time when I build its every 5 mins
I must be missing something..
If you're doing this using benches and all the right things needed, where is it all at ??
F5 -devcommands -debugmode , then exit F5, then press “b” button (free build)
How is it Iron Age if the roof is made from tar which is material from the plains?!
stability again i had to put more metal
What are you using as roof tiles?
Can you upload this world to your discord?
It's weird how the survival game that I play when I want calm is also the survival game that has killed my character the most lol.
👏👏👏👏👏
Stairs roof, repair!!!
i need this world save file !
Eh, the wood at the very top isnt very good looking
Half this build is impossible or maybe your skipping steps because even at the very beginning ok having stability problems
Casually using darkwood in a "iron age" build😅
That's not an iron age base if you're using mats from Plains.
Me watching videos about how to improve fps :/
holy shit wtf bro show us all the steps you are skipping too much the iron poles on both sides was not what i had expected
Looks like stone age to me homie..not hating just saying
previous buildings was better
