Love youuuuuu James cant get enough of your paint vids as a body man I think you are the real deal you got me into painting may the Lord Jesus bless and protect you.
Thank you 🙏🏻 and I pray you prosper in all you do! Jesus said we will have a life and a life more abundantly. I truly believe we can do that by being a shining light in this dark world and loving as Christ loves!
DO NOT DO THE BOILING WATER!……I put my can in hot water from the sink, which is really hot but not boiling, for about 5 minutes and shook the can and the bottom blew and expanded out and the entire can expanded as well 😬 had i shaken it a few more times I was about be Teddy Mcknubs from around the street. I do not recommend the boiling water and to be careful with hot water period.
May I suggest VHT 1k high heat clear , it worked amazing painting a bmx. Not 2k quality I am guessing but top notch for a one k. Please do a test on this if you can, God Bless.
The VHT and Duplicolor High Gloss 1K spray the same and hold up the same. Im convinced they are the same product in 2 different cans. Honda & acura so to speak. Same engines in both of them lol.
Awesome results. I did something similar but I used adhesion promotor. I noticed the smoother interior services seem to not like certain paints even with sanding. Your method is way easier.
If you paint it and let it cure over 4-5 hours then wet sand with 1000 grit and spray it again it comes out way smoother but that requires some serious patience lol
@@JamesDguy Oh yea, I know. I have spent many a day, weeks and years getting The Defiant where she is now. Paint, Raptor Liner, ect.. I get tips from you all the time to make it easier. I document it all here on YT. Thank you.
@@JamesDguy Well, if you do it starts two years ago so you will have to scroll down a bit. It's been an amazing journey. I have had this car since 2005 and will have till I go to the afterlife. Don't know why but I love it.
The brake clean on tips...thanks for the tip....lol Now what about clogged tips ? Soak in thinner ? Brake clean ? When I pop them off they usually don't work right when I pop them back on. I have 2 crates of paints in my storage unit, been through 2 winters now so idk if they'll be any good still. But if they are I expected clogged tips on the used cans.
I have spray paint sitting in my bin that has been there since 2018 and they still work. Just shake well and as for clogged tips soak in mineral spirits for a little while and if you can clean the tip (off the can) with a thin wire to clean them out.
Doing multiple light coats can still get you the glossy coat you are looking for. It also stops from getting orange peel, and doesn't make it look so paint heavy.
Thinking about painting, my super motocross plastics. Definitely want to warm up the paint. Have you ever tried using flat black as your base coat and when I clean out my spray paint cans I turn them upside down and spray until it shoots clear touch the nozzle up with a little bit of rubbing alcohol, but I like your style, thank you for your video respect
How do you stop the "orange peel" effect? I've watched your videos, I'm going to try painting my vehicle like you have. Just wanted to try and minimize the "orange peel" effect that can happen with spray cans. God bless brother.
For one, prep work, by sanding, priming, sanding, priming again. For two, when applying the paint, do multiple light coats, waiting until each coat is tacky before applying the new coat. For three, when doing the clear coat, again, light coats. For four, very light sanding, to polish the finish. Speaking from a model maker, which painting models transfers to actual cars.
Out of all the clear as you described in spray cans,,, brake caliper clear seems to be the best, the longest lasting and with minimal coats,,, used Duplicolor car colors to redue stripes on a RV. Let the color cure overnight,,, then used brake caliper clear the next day... With a great shine.
I’ll let ya know as well, currently painting a truck with duplicolor grey paint and then on top of it I added the Clear Affex color changing paint to give it its own twist.
I have a black front end due to past accident, but the black has faded through the summers, now my hood is sun faded brown, was thinking of doing a color shift for the front half of the car, but never knew what I needed, but now I do
This came out looking amazing!!! Does anyone know if there is a 3d print of these two bezels anywhere both of my bezels are broken from an extra heavy double din Display I need news
Well I usually never re spray a car because It don’t need it usually. With the non 2X paints I wait a week for them to harden up some then wet sand them with 800 grit then re do it. If you mean while painting the car I wait a few mins between coats
I already have a gun and compressor can’t use it in this residential area my neighbor who works for the city will report me again and I’ll get a $2,500 fine. I already got a warning. Also I do RUclips for a living and we don’t make near the amount y’all think we dont. We aren’t all mr beast up in here 😂 don’t work that way lol 😂
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Just subbed. how much would it cost to do my wheels that color . I have some xxr 527 there 17s with a +25 offset . They are the black chromium color way . My car is a 97 Honda Accord EX .
If you do it yourself you can get some cheap flat black i prefer rustoleum, then get that paint and some 2K clear. The prices vary depending on location.
@@JamesDguy thank you . And my car is a dark green it has some metallics and Pearl I know I'm not going to get the factory color but I'd like to at least keep it a dark green . It's a 4door .it has new bumpers so I don't know how to go about painting them there that exposed plastic black color . Any advice and also about how many cans with heavy coats you think the whole project will take?
Do the black in VHT black paint they have the highest heat resistance as long as the base has really high heat resistance the color shift & clear will be fine
Thanks and God bless you sir!
Really been thinking about repainting my whole car this way. With the blue to purple
Imagine this on rims... My rims especially but red ugh♥️♥️♥️
Ohhhh yea that would be awesome! they have different color shift colors.

Thanks for having the balls to add the important info at the very end. The only thing that really matters in this world. Keep up the great work ❤️
Pretty cool man I think I'm gonna give it a try on my valve cover of my 97 civic 😁
I prefer using a flat black primer over the gloss black just so you know. I failed to mention it my bad. The gloss black works though
Right on, good looking out! Appreciate all the great content thank you

That paint is so cool. Great job buddy.
Thanks man. :)

That looks beautiful! I didn't know Duplicolor had color shifting paints. I'll have to keep an eye out for it and try it on a few of my trim pieces.

Color changing paint on a car would be an interesting project.
How long the paint will hold and to see if the color changing fades
It don’t fade I have done this paint for years it holds up great especially with a good clear

Thinking about painting my golf cart color sifting paint what u think
i would love to see you do a car with that
I love how that looks! I wonder how well that would hold up on my brake calipers.
It holds up perfectly fine to high heat from brakes. I have done it before

take some of that sweet sweet you tube money and get a good compressor and paint gun I think you would really enjoy painting!
