OG viewer here, from central Kentucky! I've been onboard, vicariously enjoying your world travels since the monohull days... Love your family, love your boat! Love how capable Keith is at fixing anything... & Renee, wow, incredible film producer! Those beautiful kids are all amazing young adults up now, love 'em! That kite race drone footage... It's world-class! Seriously, who knew the Gulf of Aqaba was so lit! It's hilarious singing about West Virginia while in Africa, Petra & Luxor... One day, when you're back in the states you may wander onto a country road in WV? Nah... Not enough water! Cheers #ZCrew #boatlife
In terms of doing work on the boat, an expression I heard several years ago is that a boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into. Boats are not easy/simple/cheap to maintain. I do love your vlog. Keep up the great work, Keith.
Awesome finding the "black market" pork shop. Excellent selection! And a repeat of another comment, the video of the kite sailors will NEVER be long enough, simply magnificent.
I love how Keith fixes stuff he can, instead of just throwing away entire systems and buying new ones! I'd like that, too. If Keith included all his prep, though, I wonder how much we'd be watching RUclips videos of Keith watching RUclips videos?
@@thegizmologist8325 I love how resourceful he is. Even with him using RUclips, there’s a good chance he’s still utilizing his own resourcefulness to make due or repairs based on his skillset. @sailingzatara, please do this. And open a mercy shop, cause I’d murder to rep a sailing Zatara ball cap
Keith Self Contained is all you needed to say there. The "Vacuum" or evacuation is done prior to charging refrigeration, Heat pump or air conditioning systems with freon or Refrigerant. The process lowers the pressure(reduces the boiling point temperature of moisture) to remove the air and non -condensables any moisture that is present prior to charging were it to remain in the system would ultimately destroy it. Diagnostically in the future you would only be checking the pressures not the vacuum. Remember compressors compress and H2O is not compressible...
Oh, LOVE Israel! Enjoy! Know you've been there before but still, enjoy. You're seeing it from a different angle than I did so it's cool seeing your perspective.
Loved this episode, particularly that drone footage of the kite surfing. That was insane. Great capture. Thanks for putting some great content out. Love that you try to put in some educational bits as well, like the part with the treaty and the need to sail out and come back in.
I really enjoy watching the Zatara crew. And Keith, I think people are watching more now because you and your family keep it real. You're who you are (Keith especially) lol people like that. Everything is so fake now a days that when you get to witness real natural behavior, it's refreshing. I'm greatful that I fell upon the Zatara family, you guys rock!!! Peace ✌️
Oh by the way, if you want to eat Israeli food, go to the Mahane Yehuda market in Jerusalem. It's a beautiful place with an Israeli vibe and lots of delicious food!🤍🇮🇱
Awesome how you all are open minded to learning different perspectives on things around the world. It’s rare that people just share facts, we are more often just told how we should think about a situation. Keep up the great content!
Another great video but I wanted to comment on some of the repairs that you do Keith. I always enjoy watching how you tackle some of this stuff because many times I've had questions and unbeknown to you, you answer them as I watch. It's funny but I sit watching and scratching my head and then suddenly I'm like.....hmmmm, so that's how that works!! LOL! Anyway, I also notice that you do a lot of preventive maintenance on the boat and I've always found that to be a good practice. That way, you don't have so many immediate "emergency" type situations. At any rate, thanks for all the awesome vids. I enjoy them tremendously! Fair winds and following seas!!
Hi Kith Renee and the rest of the Zatara team. You got caught up in the Jewish-Muslim conflict in Israel. (It is important to emphasize that this is not an Israeli-Arab conflict, since there are Arabs with Israeli citizenship, as you mentioned). In fact, the beginning of the conflict was during the time of Abraham our father (from the Bible), to whom Ishmael was born to Hagar, Sarah's servant. Later, Isaac was born to Sarah, and according to what is written in the Bible, God gave the birthright to Isaac (at Sarah's request). This is the root of the conflict, who is the firstborn and hence who is the heir of Abraham (the father of the nation) who received the tablets of the covenant and divine protection. Hundreds of years later, the Romans named the southern part of Syria Palestine, after the Philistines who lived in the area, and as revenge for the Jewish rebellion against the Romans, the Romans expanded the definition of the territories of Palestine to northern Israel and later to the entire territory of Israel. The use of the name Palestine ended with the Roman occupation. In 1917, Britain received the mandate for the southern part that was conquered by the Turks (today known as Israel and Jordan). The British decided (apparently to avoid conflict with the population) to call the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea Palestine, before that between the destruction of the First Temple and the British mandate the area was occupied by various empires that were usually called Israel or Judah or not called at all. In fact, anyone born within the British mandate is called a Palestinian (so is my mother who is Jewish, listed as Palestinian on the birth certificate, as she was born in 1936 in Haifa). In 1948, the UN decided to establish 2 states for two peoples (Jews and Muslims) and a partition map was established. The Jews accepted and approved the agreement, while the Muslims rejected the agreement and the rest is history. Forgive me for the wording (translated by Google). Thank you, Hope I helped. Continue a wonderful journey and successful experiences.
The Jews accepted the partition because it is not their land, but the Palestines refused because it is their land, and the owner of the land will not give up a meter that he owns.
I think courtesy is due to others with facts. Mr E El El Elad, I respect your opinion respect mine, no need to delete my previous reply to your post, Sound like you did not like my post, though it is true and historically registered, GO BACK AND READ THE BALFOUR AGREEMENT OF 2nd OF NOVEMBER 1917, THEN BALFOUR AGREEMENT 1926 AMD LAST BLFOUR AGREEMENT 1948 AND LET PEOPLE DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES. THANK YOU Sir for telling us your part of history.
I think it's wrong that the Muslims are not reading their own believe from their own prophet. Bnney Israel lived here,in this area for more than 3500 years. it's a shame and dissrespected not to see the whole truth. The rest is all politic.
I’ve got something to say to all you new subscribers. Y’all better behave. I’ve been watching the Z crew for years now and we love following them. Great family (especially Kieth 😅) Spread the word, show them some love, and keep the hate to yourselves. 😊
I've been to the Jordan River between Galilee and the Dead Sea. It's maybe only 30' wide. I was able to go in the the River, from the Israeli side, but was told not to cross, lest I be machine gunned by the Jordan security. I was told that by the Israeli's so, who knows how much they may or may not have been exaggerating. Needless to say, I didn't find out.
Hi Guys, Nice to see you in Israel. I actually met you in Ecuador in 2017 just before you and Tanda Malaika went west. We were on the 38 feet cat Two Oceans on the way to Easter Island, Pitcairn and FP. Regarding the history of Israel - look at the bible... a Jewish kingdom was there before any other state. But let's leave politics and history aside. Where are you going next? Reaching Turkey would mean end of a circumnavigation! Best regards, Miki, Two Oceans
Hi Miki your circumnavigation was a big inspiration for us! We own a 38 Maxim also and are halfway on our own circumnavigation. Glad you got to meet the Z crew and cheers from Mojo!

About your comments on the a/c units. The “vacuum “. That is something (commonly called an evacuation “. Is done before the refrigerant is put in so any air or impurities are removed and can’t contaminate the refrigerant. It would only need to be done agriculture the refrigerant was lost from the system. Just a point from someone that has been doing hvacr since 2978. Hope to see YOU SOON out there on the water 💦
History teacher here: It was the Kingdom of Israel and Judea since AT LEAST 1000-2000 BCE. Jerusalem and the Hebrews were conquered, colonized and exiled several times (Assyrians, Persians, later Ottoman Turks). After the Romans burnt down Jerusalem in the first century CE and put down Jewish revolts the Romans named the area Paelestina as an insult to the Jews after their enemies, the Philistines, people who originated from Aegea (Greece). The Jews were exiled, many of them though some have always lived in the region. The area is indigenous to the Jews who intermingled with Canaanites and Samaritans that eventually became Judea and Kingdom of Israel. The Arabs from Assyria and Ottoman Turks colonized the area at different times.
The Jews you speak of are literally the current day Palestinians who converted to Islam and Christianity. Fun fact: DNA tests are forbidden in "Israel" for a reason, "history teacher".
Hi, welcome to Israel!!!!!Shalom! I don't know if you are still here but As someone who loves Eilat, the sea and the mountains, I would like to recommend a few places to you: first a short trip in the mountains of Eilat. There are all kinds of tracks - choose the one that suits you best. There is a beautiful beach near the border with Egypt called the Princess- Ha'nesicha, with lots of fish and corals'greet for snorkeling. What you saw at the supermarket and interpreted as "sparkling" its a shawarma. Buying shawarma outside as street food in a fresh pita or Lafa is most recomended. . if you are looking for a good grocery store there is a large shopping center on Ha'borsekai Street. There is an excellent patisserie called "Alimi" with French patisserie and excellent coffee. enjoy ❤
I think she was just trying to clarify, but in doing so brought more attention to it, everyone knows or should know what she meant without clarification…
I respect you and your family, and I have been following your program for some time now. This was also my dream to go around the world in a boat. I am a Palestinian living in UK. And have a villa in Amman. Where I visit every year and go to Aqaba. On another note, I think you need to meet the other side (Palestinians) and read more about the conflict. it’s very clear it is Palestine. by the way. where did you get the name Zatara from. did you know that there is an ancient Palestinian village named Zatara and a Palestinian family are also carry Zaiter as their surname. they are from that village.
We sailed the world prior to the WWW in the naughties, and I lived and worked in the Sinai desert in Egypt, as an English employee of an American company in the 80s/90s, neighbour to ISRAEL, for almost 10 years. Fascinating.to see the changes in your videos from the days that I camped and dived from the beaches of Eilat and the Sinai desert that were then hotel and tourist free zones. Best advice I have is don't concern yourself with the politics of any country you visit; be respectful and take your rubbish and your opinions with you 😊. Love your videos.
Hi good to see you guys in The land where our Saviour Jesus was born ❤. Many 1000’s of years it was called Israel .. and for 100’s of years it was called Palestine..Now , AGAIN it is called Israel 🇮🇱 😇
Hi, my name is Ofek and I live in Israel, really I only live an hour from Eilat so if you want you are welcome to drop by 😁😉 In any case, there is a video that explains the conflict in 11 minutes and I am sure that it will help you to understand a little better the complicated situation that has arisen in my country.
Shalom! I looked up "Israel Palestine in 11 minutes" and only saw a few 10':x" videos. Surprisingly, the Vox one was by far the least biased among them (not that bad actually), but I'm pretty sure that's not the video you were talking about. Any details about what to search for or the title?
In 1948, armed Jewish militias, predominantly, from Eastern Europe, began to slaughter entire villages of men, women and children in order to terrorize the Palestinian populations into leaving their villages throughout Palestine. 800.000 Palestinians were driven out of their land through a systematic genocide. Read the history outside of Israelis false narrative of one of the most violent and criminal genocides in human history. Look at videos on RUclips that highlights Israel’s crimes and human rights transgression in the apartheid state of Israel.

Really enjoy all the video content. Travel broadens our minds and teaches us what mainstream media does not want people to know about what is outside of their own little bubble. Thank you for sharing these journeys. I really enjoy the provisioning videos.
Well said!
I subscribed to your channel a couple of years ago i guess, probably just before Anna came off the boat, i look forward to your videos each week, would love to do what you guys have done, so i guess i am living my fantasy life through you guys. Keep them videos coming. Take care!
Hi I was at jfk yesterday in line with friends who had to Morocco and started talking to a woman who also watches your Chanel. You have been a wonderful family to watch and enjoy sharing your journey with others who watches
Ha that’s funny! Small world! 🌎 Thanks for watching our show! ~Renee
We watch your family every Thursday and always enjoy your videos! ❤
Out of all the sailing channels I watch I look forward to zataras weekly video the most!
Hi from Florida. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks and Be Safe.
Thk u all for your show, God Bless.
In terms of doing work on the boat, an expression I heard several years ago is that a boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into. Boats are not easy/simple/cheap to maintain. I do love your vlog. Keep up the great work, Keith.
Welcome to the ancient country of Israel ❤🇮🇱
Favorite sailing channel of all time! When I grow up I wanna be like you guys
I had a good laugh @ Kate. Her comment that she didn't miss her visitors. But yet last month has been the first time I have seen her smile in a year.
And then she said, of course I missssss them
Awesome finding the "black market" pork shop. Excellent selection! And a repeat of another comment, the video of the kite sailors will NEVER be long enough, simply magnificent.
Welcome to the old and historical country of Israel 🙏🏻
Thank you for your balanced comments! You are the best
We need a “fix it with Keith” segment to teach us all his vast knowledge
That is a great idea
Thank you 🙏🏼 And hey Please don’t reply to any spammers, we don’t have a “telegraph” account.
~Renee💕
Really enjoying the content!
Thanks so much.
God bless and safe travels
The videography of the kiting was first rate .
Thank you,
Hope I helped.

No hate here. Love the Zatara Crew, Bless You Guy's Where Ever The Zatara Crew Sails.
Hey i really enjoy looking at the Zatara’s adventure across the world. I really hope your planning to visit the Mediterranean next!
Thank you 🙏🏼 And hey Please don’t reply to any spammers, we don’t have a “telegraph” account.

I’ve got something to say to all you new subscribers. Y’all better behave. I’ve been watching the Z crew for years now and we love following them. Great family (especially Kieth 😅) Spread the word, show them some love, and keep the hate to yourselves. 😊
I see Kate's back to her comfy attire. 😂
The kite video was incredible! Beautiful scenery.
That is a crazy rule to make a 24 mile round trip to go 1 mile across the Bay! I'm glad the storm didn't cause any issues to your Yacht!
As Keith said, good fences make good neighbors. Doing so is part of their border agreement.
Thanks for taking time to explain the new AC install and reasoning behind it.
Hi Guys,
Nice to see you in Israel. Best regards,
Miki, Two Oceans
Hi Miki your circumnavigation was a big inspiration for us! We own a 38 Maxim also and are halfway on our own circumnavigation. Glad you got to meet the Z crew and cheers from Mojo!
Another great video. What phone application was Keith using inside the grocery store? Some kind of translator or barcode reader?
Like a language text translator. You point your mobile camera in the app at text for another language (on a sign or package or paper) and the foreign language on the camera screen changes to English.
History teacher here:
It was the Kingdom of Israel and Judea since AT LEAST 1000-2000 BCE.
History teacher that’s I’m assuming learning history from America, a stolen country?!? Or maybe even europe?!? You’re facts are not valid.
The Jews you speak of are literally the current day Palestinians who converted to Islam and Christianity. Fun fact: DNA tests are forbidden in "Israel" for a reason, "history teacher".
Those aerial shots with all those kites were spectacular...broadcast quality.
Just say I’m a yachtie doing yachtie things, not a politician.
The 'racing' videography was simply stunning!! Thanks!!
FREE PALESTINE AND GOD DAMN THE OPPRESSORS 💚🇵🇸
There is an excellent patisserie called "Alimi" with French patisserie and excellent coffee. enjoy ❤
It's palestine not Israel
It's 💯 ISRAEL!!!! God bless and stay safe! 🙏
Always Israel

Best sailing channel out there!
Someone seriously took exception to your using the term "black market"? This world is crazy right now!
I think she was just trying to clarify, but in doing so brought more attention to it, everyone knows or should know what she meant without clarification…
Nice and clean family channel. Thanks from Southern California 😎
Here's a slightly ugly comment. Bit obnoxious to be singing while entering a tourist sight.... Still love the content tho
Hi good to see you guys in The land where our Saviour Jesus was born ❤. Many 1000’s of years it was called Israel .. and for 100’s of years it was called Palestine..Now , AGAIN it is called Israel 🇮🇱 😇
Keith I'm gonna leave you a nasty message, you have a beautiful family and a good life. Enjoy it ! you are Blessed Brother.

@@ohadf7751 ראית מזה מוציא שם טוב למדינה הזאת
I love your content, what a wonderful experience for the kids. Keep the dream real. Thanks for sharing it with us
One more comment, my wife and I found your channel a few months ago, and I've been trying to talk her into buying a sailing cat and traveling the world. Now that she's hooked on your channel, she's seeing what a wonderful life could make for one another seeing the world together. Thank you for filming such family-oriented content, so many of the other sailing channels are all about selling sex, don't get me wrong I don't mind looking at beautiful Women, but sometimes it's nice to see actual sailing life and not a Corona beer commercial.
Hey y’all, somehow you guys ended up on my RUclips home and I watched an episode or two and got hooked. I just finished your newest video after starting from the very beginning! Took me about a month and a half ….I watched episodes before bed every night and lived vicariously through you all while you circumnavigated the globe! Good times! Thanks for the great content and thanks for being patriots!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Be safe and well!! 😊
Hey guys love the last month of videos I know it's about a 4 hour trip to Jerusalem the birthplace of Jesus I was wondering if you guys would go there love you guys stay safe
Great point Robert! If you’re going to Isreal visiting Jerusalem is a must!
I too hope they go to Jerusalem... however Im pretty sure you mean Bethlehem, the City of David. That's where Jesus was born. :)
@@377caprice You are correct I know he was buried in Jerusalem supposedly that's where the tomb is but yes I meant to say Bethlehem
Hands down my favorite RUclips channel.
Israel and always enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work Zatara!
Again, a super video... We believe you made the right decision to accept the young one's onto your boat, for them and for your family.. Thanks.. Cheers J&G (NZ)
Love your channel! Israel is much older than "Palestine". If you go subterranean underneath the Western Wall in Jerusalem you will see AT BEDROCK the First Temple. Nothing older than that. This was always Israel, no matter what the uninformed or propagandists suggest.
Keep up the great work!
Been watching you guys for more than a year with my son on his subscription but he isn't always present to see your new episodes on Thursday so I just had to subscribe to keep up to the minute on you guy's post each week. Don't tell my son! I'll just watch again with him. You guys are so awesome, love what you are doing and sharing.
Aw that sweet! Thanks Laura!
Israel is truly amazing, such a old and historical country 🇮🇱❤️
I'm Egyptian, when I first learnt about Palestine and Israel from history class like six years ago in sixth grade it was occupied Palestine not Israel, for a westerner being neutral is fine, and for the spam comments it's thier way of supporting the Palestinian case that's all, love ur energy btw keep going ❤️🤙

I have been watching your adventures for a while. So jealous of your lifestyle. Decided to try a charter out of the Whitsundays with my family next June. Love the videos, keep up the great work. Keep on floating away.
Lol…I’m pretty sure everyone knew what you meant when you said “black market”
Yep!!!!
I think its great to show ya working on the boat... give insight of what boat life really is.. not all play. I appreciate that you guys always respect the countires you visit, rather its by going the extra 5hr trip, flag, wearing coverings, or just what to call it. :D
I started watching this channel when i was going through the toughest 3yrs of my life (living with my inlaws), you guys always made my days much better n made me daydream while i was doing "chores". Thank You! :D
