Thanks for sharing these winter food of Taiwan, especially the hotpot. Would like to see more of these traditional Taiwan foods that are not commonly obtained
I felt like summer was much longer than usual this year. Was still hot for a couple of weeks last month. Even now there's a day or two of nice weather, this weekend is supposed to be 25+C. Today's weather was very nice. Perfect temperature! I do agree though, winters here are ridiculously cold feeling even though the weather says the temperature is around 20C. But I DO remember that extremely cold weekend in winter 2015. It was like 3C in Miaoli but was a "feels like" of -3C. I think it was the same weekend it SNOWED in Hsinchu and Taipei actually. Also, that almond tea looks really good!
Your video reminds there are so many wonderful foods to eat in winter! For savory foods, I like hot pot. The drink on my top list is the almond milk! Seems it’s time to have a fatty winter😂😂!
3:46 it would be Goat/Ram hotpot, rather than Lamb, because traditional Chinese (colonial Taiwanese as well) do not slaughter and eat the cub of animals, so it would be goat not lamb
You say all this while I am in my cosy UK flat while it's close to 0°C outside. It's very humid on the UK too, hence why it is botterly cold, we just have insulated buildings (modern places at least) to combat it properly. Taiwan doesn’t know true cold weather😆.

台灣冬天很少會下雪、因此過冬天方式通常以人為對象用食物來驅趕寒冷、而歐洲或下雪區域都以室內進行防寒措施、差異非常大，而用來驅寒的食物就是薑、豆花燒仙草、羊肉爐都會加、麵茶、湯圓是早期的正餐食物現在都變成甜品。
我也很喜歡喝杏仁茶，尤其是五十房的杏仁茶，在一中街附近
每一樣都好好吃喔！🤤

麵茶，這是傳統中國北方食物，可以做成甜品，也可以做成鹹的。
恩德元絕對不會有豬肉丸子，因為這是一家「伊斯蘭教徒」開設個館子，伊斯蘭教徒不吃豬肉。
酒釀湯圓或是酒釀蛋花，這是小時候寒流來時，媽媽在早上會煮的早餐或是睡覺前的宵夜。
麵茶是我們小時候吃的甜點，現在很少見了，特別是在大城市幾乎都快被忘了。客家鹹湯圓有更多料，更好吃！
如同其命名，麵茶是由麵粉製成，早期是擺在碾米廠與雜貨店出售，這是寶寶最佳的斷奶食品
麵茶真的是小時候的點心，喝杏仁茶最好的時機其實是秋天喔，因為它是護氣管的飲品

可以介紹台灣各地的農會、漁會超市…每一個地區的特產都不一樣喔！當然也會賣一些別的地區農漁會推廣產品。
我記得最特別的是台東太麻里農會超市，有賣釋迦冰棒。

Allan lamb hot pot is one of my favorite in winter. In Taiwan another popular one is the shabu shabu Japanese Taiwan style hot pot as well. Enjoy !
Updated the air conditioners in our house in Taiwan to models that can produce heat. Makes a very big difference in the winter.

那間羊肉爐是清真餐廳(halal restaurant)，所以不會賣豬肉作的肉丸，看菜單Allan吃的肉丸應該是牛肉做的
羊肉爐好吃 尤其醬很重要
