    Back in the day, before I had the pleasure of getting married I had a 65 Mustang Coupe with a three 351 Cleveland block that was highly modified with a top loader 4. speed & narrowed rear end. A whole Lotta time and even more money got me what I was after. It looked basically stock with the exception of the Ford rally rims. I am very very thankful to Mr. Rodney Dahlgren of Napa California who is a great influence on doing it up right. It started out with a 6 cylinder & we exchanged the suspension that came out of a total Mach one. Special thanks to Alston engineering that was out of Sacramento for the sub frame and connectors.

      Cool story!
      I have a 65 coupe 302 block with 351 Cleveland heads. So a clevor boss build. I was thinking about stroking the engine to 331 or 347.
      Do you remember what rear axle ratio you had. Now It has 4.7... something.. I need to open it up and count lol.. I imported it from sanfransisco..
      What would be a good rear end ratio? It has an currie rear axle.
      Cheers

      This is not a survivor car, it's a total restomod end to end, none of the original mechanical or suspension " survived"

Currently I'm in a huge debate with myself on either 5 or 4.5 mid-eye leaf springs to compliment the 1-inch drop springs that I purchased already. Would like my car to sit like this mustang!

    Just watched your video again to get some ideas. Well, I got the engine bay all nice and shiny ready for the new engine and realized the wiring looked terrible. Ordered the American Autowire kit even thought it's not meant to fit with factory air. Started install anyway and decided, what the heck, I could use a new AC system anyway and pulled out the factory air (found an alternate spot for the fuse box to fit the new AC). While online shopping (pricing the scott drake hurricane ac kit) I ended up going ahead and getting the front racing apron and the billet grills and fog lights. I also got the tmi stitched door panels to go with my tmi seats. I keep telling my wife "this is the last shipment". This about how your build went? :)

    Very nice. I just finished putting in a new TCP suspension (coil over) w/ wilwood disc brakes and about to drop a 347 stroker w/ 480hp and a tko600 in mine. I've kept the exterior pretty stock but considering a scoop. Where'd you get the bolt on? I know, kind of lame asking about the scoop with everything else you're showing :)

    • @AmericaRoadster
      @AmericaRoadster  10 лет назад +3

      Sound like a beast what you're building. Kind of like mine :-)
      The scoop wasn't planned but I had a ding there that needed repair.. Bought the scoop on CJ Pony and went "Cobra" style with rivets instead of molding it {which always cracks} and came out perfect.
      Thx for great comment :-)

    DAMN!!! Just make that a "K" code and I'm done with porn sites! :)

    • @AmericaRoadster
      @AmericaRoadster  6 лет назад

      Just so everybody knows..a'K' code motor will dyno around 200-220 rear wheel horse power. An average 347 Stroker will put down 300-350rwhp and much more with better parts... in other words, 'K' code has collectible value but not really that great powerwise

    • @mcgilm69
      @mcgilm69 6 лет назад

      Wasn't talking about the motor. Was talking about the "K" code body. While the "K" refers to an engine type, the body style usually reserved for the cars was more spectacular.

    • @AmericaRoadster
      @AmericaRoadster  6 лет назад

      I know you meant it well, thanks for your initial comment, but what's a "K' code body?

    • @mcgilm69
      @mcgilm69 6 лет назад

      OK, maybe I'm not a purist. My first car was a 69 Camaro. I worked with a guy that drove a 67 fastback, and a couple of my friends had a 67 convert and a 67coupe, and my buddy for whom I was best man had a 69 Mach 1. I just don't consider the "K" codes as "fastbacks". I've seen fastbacks, and the "K"code bodies just weren't. Call me a neanderthal, a rube, someone that doesn't know their head from a hole in the ground, the "K"codes were just sleeker. More beautiful.

    • @AmericaRoadster
      @AmericaRoadster  6 лет назад

      I don't wanna call you anything, I'm just explaining so you understand. There's no such thing as 'K'code body... so you do have it all wrong all these years... 'K' code always describes the motor and perhaps a car you knew as a 'K' code was a particular body style but really there's no such thing. Body is described as 2 digits in VIN and never a letter. So there's a coupe, fastback and convertible... Either one of them could have a 'K' code motor and that made them more valuable ...still does ...I was just saying that a car today with a 'K' code motor is really not that strong compared to the motor I had in this car, that's all. Cheers

    This is the exact body style and year model im going to build. Can you please email me all the sources that used for parts suppliers? My email is Kgary092@gmail thank you. My dad and i were going to build a fox body notchback when i came back home from the military but i had to spend the money elsewhere. Its always been a regret. He wanted to do it so my brother and i and him would have something to look back on and cherrish. Something we all did together. My brotger passed away in 2015 sadly leaving 2 beautiful boys behind. So we are going to get them to help us and take their daddys place in building it. I cant wait til its done. Im going with a 427 stroked out with twin turbos. Or i might just go with a twin screw. But please, if you would let me know what sources you used because you obviously did everything right and this car is beautiful!

      Gary King thank you for your service. My family and I truly appreciate it. My father bought me a 1965 fastback mustang (289 hipo) when I was 15. It was in perfect condition (completely stock) I love this car. He passed away in 1998. At that point I had the car 15 years. He asked me to never get rid of it. He asked me to restore it the way we always talked about. He died the next day. I restored it that summer. Put 25k into it. It almost ended my marriage. Haha. I just blew the engine last year. A 347 stroker. The body is in perfect condition. House of colors laser red pearl. Never give up on your dreams. It gives you something to strive for.

    very pretty car but not much power for a 347 my old stock 302 fox body would light the tires up better than that rolling it just had intake headers msd ignition maybe he wasn't all the way in it but it revved high that one time but who cares it's a beautiful car

    • @garyking2480
      @garyking2480 7 лет назад +1

      Jesse South maybe he actually has a good suspension. People generally want cars to hook up not spin. Spinning just waste time. Plus the old 302 engines are weak. 225hp at the crank. Probably 190 to 200hp to the wheels if lucky. And an intake and headers doesnt mean jack if you dont have a good set of heads to let the car breathe good. This car would rape a 302 with no internals or head work. Sorry bud

    • @garyking2480
      @garyking2480 7 лет назад

      Jesse South and another thing, fox body mustangs spin because they are so light in the rear. Thats a downfall for them. Getting out of the hole is a bitch. I built a fox body myself. 91 pearl white, 302 bottom end with pro top 202 185 valves with an E303 cam, scorpion 1.72 roller rockers and hardened pushrods. Cobra upper and lower intake with a 1inch spacer, 28lb injectors with adjustable furl pressure regulator, BBK equal length shorty headers, H pipe off road exhaust with flowmaster 2 chamber 40 series. 31 spline moser axles with 373 gears and polyurethane bushing for everything under the car. But the downfall... stock borg warner T5. Went through 3 in 1 year. That car put down some power and would shred a tranny. And oh yeah it had a performance clutch aluminum flywheel and driveshaft. Too much crap to remember. It was about 9yrs ago. But it would roll along at 60 to 70 mph and light the tires up. Oh 1 more thing, the heads were milled down for more compression, i didnt have the money for a stroker bottom end with pop up pistons so i just had the heads machined to bring the compression up. And of course the msd ignition amd distributor and all that bs. But anyways, yeah i love foxbodys
