Beautiful job…..hopefully your canted valve choice was well worth it and you get years and years of enjoyment out of this motor……me myself im personally a chevy guy (LS) to be specific.. i have supercharged LS swaps in both my nova and c/10……but my 15yr old son on the other hand convinced me and his mother into getting him a ‘67 mustang c code coupe….the original 289 is running great other than a little smoke from what i believe to be dried valve seals, but the car literally came from an old lady and only has 67k mi on it…basically its been parked for the majority of its life…..i picked up a late model 5.0 roller motor out of a explorer and a set of aftermarket 58cc chamber aluminum heads and new flat top pistons to achieve around 10.15:1 compression…im hoping to squeeze 325/350hp out of the roller 302 for when he is ready to graduate from the potent 200hp 289😂😂😂…….if it were as easy as a bolt in conversion i would have just put a cammed 4.8 LS in there and called it a day…..but we will give the 302 a shot before we have to start fabbing a LS swap system……besides a teenager has no business with 400hp in such a light car…or any car at all for that matter!!!! I had a ‘65 fastback with a 4spd top loader built 302 i wanna say 4:11’s or 4:10’s and a mach 1 front end and brakes when i was his age in high school but i didnt keep my grades up and started skipping school, my father took that car from me and literally sold it within 48 hours……now i just kick myself in the ass whenever i see one , and think to myself that i had one that was wayyy better than what im usually seeing……

Talk about life lessons. When I was about 18, I bought a Pinto with a spun rod bearing. When it was all repaired, I had about $600 into it. A friend of my brother offered to trade me his car for the Pinto and throw in an Ampeg bass amp. I turned him down because I didn’t want a 10 year old 1965 Mustang K- code 4 speed convertible.
Oh well. Glad to hear you still believe in the SBF. I wish you and your son the best in your car hobby! Cheers!

These heads would be great on a big bore aftermarket Clevor block. I'm surprised you didn't have the rocker pedestals decked though.

Thanks. Better with more displacement. The pedestals were decked to Jesel’s recommendations. Cheers!

"I Don't Get It"! LoL! I thought for sure your other motor was de-stroked that engine reved so good with those 8-1 headers.
Now, send it all out to get everything cryogenically treated!
    But....."I Still Don't Get It"!
    LoL!

Hate to bust your bubble, but thank God for the aftermarket finally cranking out some real Ford heads based on Chevy valve and ports sizes huh?

Chevy Big Blocks rule for sure. No argument from me. I went through a lot to make this work and would surely make easy power with a LS.(gagging sound), but canted valves on the SBF (Boss 302) were pretty successful in Trans Am. The complaint was they had to be revved to make those huge ports work. On the Chassis dyno where my car made 410 ish RWHP, the dyno tech told me the thing was just starting to rage at 7000. Big ports, canted valves, high revs in a SBF really appeals to me for a road course car. So no Bubble busted here, and keep the comments coming so we can all benefit from each others experience, right? Cheers!
