Fidel's Mustang was one of the first car stories I did on my channel 3 years ago. I love the feature you guys did, and I'm glad to see Fidel is still enjoying this beautiful build. Your videos rock!
That beauty just Oooozes Cool! It screams "Drive Me, a lot"! Like you said, Restomod / Pro Touring are two different animals. This is a beautifully done Restomod. I'd drive the wheels off of it if it were mine! Interesting that he chose the T-5 as a lot of people think they are a piece of junk. They will reliably hold up with up to 400 hp on any DOT tires and not really drag racing the car. They shift smooth as glass, and weigh in well under the TKO's, etc. Good choice for this kind of car. Hope he really enjoys the heck out of it!
Sweet stuff! One of the favorite rides of my youth was a '66 Mustang Fastback, 289, 4 speed, Wimbledon White over black, that a buddy owned in the late '60s and early '70s. I moved away and lost track of him. For all I know, he still has the car. I love what you're doing! Keep up the good work, and thanks for bringing back some really good memories! I can't be the only guy out there whose bell you are ringing!
Absolutely terrific Stang. Owner created a great vision. It reeks of balance. It's amazing to think of it as "reasonable" at 474hp crank, with a SBF, backed by the T-5 with a stout rear, very safe for clutch drops, powershifting, etc. That interior looks just like something you'd find in the 60s. Those wheels! I want them on my next build! For cost and availability, it's so tempting to go Coyote, but I know I'd regret that move. I'd be taking the easy way out. Really nicely done build sir. Congrats.
Beautiful build. The reliability and power capabilities of the Coyote are great, but love the fact this is a naturally aspirated SBF. Great power-to-weight ratio. Colour choices are great. Love the fact the body and interior are left virtually stock looking. Love the sound. Looks like a great driver. Be safe and stay well.
My son didn't know I knew this trick untill he asked me one day ss we were getting on the freeway He went crazy, so as we were doing the video I did the double pump on the gas pedal for him
That car is just so cool. I love Silver over Red. He said it has stock brakes, but this car has disks outback. But the car is great looking. A great resto-mod, not too heavy on the mod, it's all in the right places.
Damn Fidel!!!! What a little beauty. Love your approach. Just a beautiful car. Love it! And absolutely love those wheels on older Mustangs. Thanks again Shawn for introducing us to really cool folks with really cool rides.
Thank you for your kind words, It was my wide who encouraged me to finish her , during the year 2014 I lost my mother to cancer and was going through a bout of depression, so my wife told me "why don't you start working on the car and maybe it will he'll you"
Such a clean and refined build, the stroker motor sounds so good it has a snarl to it. The paint wheels and interior are so tastefully done, restrained and just enough subtle details to make you pore over the 3-4 times to admire. Well done, thanks for sharing another great car!
That's a beautiful mustang and my favorite color combo too! This is my dream mustang fastback or standard I love this car 67 68 I'd love either one! Nice ride😎👊
Beautiful Mustang Fidel I love resto mods Had a '66 Coupe for awhile Great ride Have heard nothing but good about that 347 Stroker powerplant Interior is gorgeous Fastbacks are so Cool Enjoyed Great eye
In 1980 I started saving money for a car while making $4 an hour. I was on tract to buy a fast back mustang but my father said save a little more and I will match what you save. I saved up $4000 and ended up buying a 1964 Corvette coup for $7500 my dad kept the extra $500 after negotiating the price down. It’s been 40 years and I still have my mid year Corvette. My son in the Marines wants a mustang so I’m doing the same deal. I told him to save up.
Immaculate pony 🐎 very beautiful '66!! 💎 Well put together!! Reminds me of my Dad really kickback N doesn't beat on his car just enjoys the ride N I can respect that ✊😎!! Great video N beautiful '66 Fidel
@@fidel5456 thanks! I've been trying to figure out a good setup that fits well for my 66 fastback with 289 and t5 transmission. Was thinking jba tri ys and their 2.5" exhaust system
Oh hell yeah bud, those first gen fastback mustangs just make my sticker peck out!! Super nice build 👍 Edit: love the Eleanor rims as well, nice touch without doing the whole Shelby theme

I would take this 66 mustang fastback over a coyote mustang any day of the week!!!! The looks and the Sound 🤩😍
Totally agree! Man, it makes The right sounds…and that is a beautiful silver! Wow!
@@stevepick9527 yes sir!!!
Simply beautiful!
Same here absolutely beautiful car but not a huge fan of the silver still nice car
Put down the pipe dude
Great job Fidel! I like how that he doesn't feel the need to smoke the tires and just cruises it.

I love how 'well put together' that car looks & I really love the placement of the tachometer, I never would have thought of that!
Yeah thats old skool stuff
Lean, clean and just a touch of mean.
Sweet ride, Fidel.
I have on three early Mustangs early Camaros, ZR1 Corvettes. 66 Fastback Mustang is still my favorite hot rod!

Simplicity will always win, this car is great!!!
Not just stock . Not too wild and over the top . Prefect Restomod . 👏🏿👏🏿
As a mustang fan, I love this. Coyotes are cool, just not my thing. One day id like a 347 and tremec tko
Received your shirts today for me and my wife awesome sir.
One of the nicest cars I’ve seen on here . So clean and just right . Great taste
Niice!!! Definitely resto mod. Love how original it looks with a showroom finish.
I think this is one of the nicest cars you've covered. No half million spent, beautiful and enough power for daily driving with a BIG smile.
Stang 65/66, the best in class
One of the best channels on RUclips, and this is a beautifully classic example of a 66
Nice ride..................good job Fidel
Love silver. Porsches. Reflects light, you cant really see dust on silver. Classic and classy

I have a 66 convertible got it when I was 15 and and fully restored it I've had it for 16 years now and it still my daily driver
Did I detect a Steve McQueen double pump on the throttle during some of those shifts? :-)
My son didn't know I knew this trick untill he asked me one day ss we were getting on the freeway
He went crazy, so as we were doing the video I did the double pump on the gas pedal for him
This car is amazing! I love everything about it.
Shawn: _You know I love interiors and now let's go for a ride._
Fidel: (tosses him the keys).
Priceless.
I have an s550 coyote mustang and would love to have this one too for comparison and show off old school and new school! Pipe dream of course!
Thank you so much. A very beautiful Mustang. Thanks for sharing!!!!
Nice, clean and simple
Bad ass Fastback. Great build bro.
What a simple yet
Beautiful ride!
Great video and clean, low key build. Excellent. Thanks for sharing.
This is a clean simple build, something that most gearheads can afford.
Most gearheads can't afford a fastback period, it's sad. Thanks to collectors who never drive them.
Gorgeous. The paint color is amazing on that model. I love resto mods.
Color combo is beautiful on this one
That car is just so cool. I love Silver over Red. He said it has stock brakes, but this car has disks outback. But the car is great looking. A great resto-mod, not too heavy on the mod, it's all in the right places.

I totally agree with you on the fact that too many people use restomod and pro touring interchangeably. They are different styles.
He knows exactly how to shift it and make that beautiful sound.
He’s been driving it a long time. Cool build
Great looking Mustang! The panel fit is spot on and the interior is amazing and she sounds awesome!
Car is just about perfect. Looks so cool!!
