I will definitely need to compare these two videos. I do not know which one to get. IS500, RC-F, GS-F or LC500. IS makes the most sense. It would be new, somewhat easy to put the kids in the back and fun. The others I would have to go used. LC is definitely the best looking one, but most inconvenient too. GS-F is bigger, so it makes for easier access for the kids and it is a full in F, but they are skyrocketing in price. RC-F, yes it is a full on F, and has more space than LC in the back, but it is not as practical as IS or as good looking as LC, but definitely a good looking car. 🤷♂️ In all your testing what would you go for @TheTopher?

im glad you noticed the interior just works. too many people complain about it not being newer. it has touch screen and carplay...physical buttons that people always bitch about not having. then they say it looks old bc it HAS buttons smdh. you got heated and cooled seats, digital dash, a high revving v8... like what more do you want?!
Buttons and knobs are what people like and I want to give credit to Lexus for that because this IS interior to me, it’s perfect. Still has the luxury features you want but it’s a simple and ergonomic interior. Those F Sport gauges too, ugh so beautiful still. Plus it’s built really well. That interior will not have any squeaks or rattles and Lexus knows how to build very good high quality interiors.

I saw an IS 500 F Sport Performance in this wild blue colour and I gotta say, it’s so gorgeous when you get up close and see it. It’s a masterpiece of a design from Lexus.
The first time i’ve ever seen one and i was amazed, it was so good, it was in a chrome silver and had the red seats, the front looks so aggressive but subtle

Can't believe the US get's this for the same price as a specced up 320d over here. From the inside it sounds very similar the old 6.2 AMG V8. Cherish these cars while you guys can before we all silently wizz around in 4 door golf carts.
A Cadillac CT5-V 3.0TT makes 400 lb-ft of torque for about $50K. Then there is 6.2l supercharged V8 in the Blackwing! Lexus has no answer for the later.
If you're wondering why the shifts look so delayed or even nonexistent in the early driving segments, it's because it's not actually in manual mode. It is only in manual mode if you see the orange "M" in the gauges. I was really looking forward to seeing your thoughts on this car. Your videos were part of the reason I ended up getting my IS 350. I wish they would give the journalists the RWD IS 350 more often, as it really is a lot different-feeling from the AWD car I used to have. Now you add the RC F drivetrain to the car, and it's just a perfect daily driver. Kinda wish I had waited for the IS 500 but we'll see. Maybe it can still happen. EDIT: I ended up trading my IS 350 for an IS 500 this year. Best dumb decision I've ever made. 😁
@@gavcom4060 I honestly don't know why Lexus designed it this way. If you pull a paddle without switching to M mode, it acts like a gear limiter. The owner's manual even explains this. Though, I don't know who asked for it to behave this way. Doesn't make the car unenjoyable by any means though.
Love the is500 interior, unlike tactile buttons and knobs which require only muscle memory. The “modern” and “minimalist” interiors with the 16” display require the driver to take their eyes off the road just to access the glove compartment.
Been eagerly awaiting this video from you! Some of the best reviews on RUclips. This car is a big contender for me when I have kids. Having an RC is fun, but can't beat the practicality of 4 doors.

I'm #1 on my dealer's list to order one of these. The delay has been painful. In the mean time, daily driving a '21 IS 350 F Sport which we love so much that we'll keep it when the 500 arrives.

I was about to say, the interior looks like something from the mid-00's. Compare this to the German competition, their interiors are so much more futuristic looking. I love how Audi, BMW, and Mercedes have integrated LED lights into their interiors. Makes the Lexus interior look bland.
Love your channel! It does help us consumers make informative decisions. I was thinking of picking up a V8 but the interior is outdated for my taste! Love the exterior design and everything. I will now wait in hopes they redesign the interior to a more modern look

@@alh06 Agreed, the induction noise is what definitely gives a car 'character' compared to an electric car (excluding Porsche Taycan), and makes drivers feel more involved with the driving experience I reckon!
I went from a 2016 to a 2021. The seats and most of the layout is identical. The steering wheel has a different horn button but is otherwise identical to what you'd get in a 2017 IS. But the new gauges and bigger infotainment screen really help it feel new.
I dove into this because I’m interested in buying a used IS. However I did not know that this was at Road America so that made it even that much better. It was nice to re-familiarize myself get a refresher on the course. I will be up there on the later part of this month driving just like you did out on the road and on the track. Not sure if you’re going to be there later this month or not.

Careful. I have an LC. You’ll get addicted to that exhaust note and end up getting 12 MPG. It’s sooooo much fun to rev out.

either way the competition’s transmissions still respond very fast to manual paddle inputs without being in manual mode

This car may finally get me out of my 2nd gen IS350 with 155k on it.
I compared it with the AMG C63s and IS500. If you want to drive now, choose IS500. If you want to drive slowly and long, you will choose C63s.
