She wrote this when she was 11. She is from western Norway she is Viking. To me she is the goddess Frayja.

Thanks, Ratty! 🧚♀ Aurora is one of those rare performers who appeals to me no matter what she's doing. She's reminiscent of Björk (from my younger days) who resonated with me, similarly. ෴ I think I get what you mean about her voice, lyrics connecting to Norse Mythology. It's in her blood, of course. I think she's tapping into that... as did Björk. It's like a guttural-yet-melodic scream. Primal and, somehow, ethereal.
Fur sure, her music change all the time with her, at last i feel it like this. You will find many different sounds from her. Great artist and i love her music.
Ps. Original meaning was about different phases of grief.and running away from pain/life, it is also about need to find a "soft place to fall" (like home, or someone close) to "repair yourself", deal with the loss and return to life again. But as you said her lyrics are open for interpretation.
I love when artists can switch up their style... especially when I like the styles they switch up too haha
Aurora definitely has many different styles, so it's not unusual to think one song is very different from another. Maybe her earlier stuff often shared a similar vibe (a lot of sad and deeply serious songs), but they still had their own unique sound.
On her last album (The Gods We Can Touch), she really went extreme with experimenting with different styles. And "Your Blood," which is expected to be on her upcoming new album, is even way different from that album. So I think it's safe to say that Aurora will not be put in a box, and she will continue to explore different sounds and different styles as she continues to grow as an artist.
Not every fan will love that (just like not every fan loved her last album), but I appreciate her constantly evolving, and not just doing the same old thing, no matter how good that old thing was. I would rather her continue to be authentic as an artist, than to just try and deliver what her fans want to hear. Her authenticity is a big part of what makes her special.

Aurora wrote this song when she was 11 years old, and at that age she didn’t quite understand the meaning of the song, but as she grew older she understood more and more.
And “take me back home” means home to her parents, a safe place to fall

Yes, Aurora has such interesting and unusual sounds in her music, just another thing I love about her, besides her voice, yeah, she is much more than just a great voice. This is an important song to Aurora, but it isn't up there on my high list of favorites, my favorites list is so long and in constant battle for top spot with her songs, lol. Thanks for a great reaction, hope to see more Aurora on your channel soon.

I'm with you. I'm glad this song has exposed Aurora to so many people, but it's not among my favorites either. Not that I dislike it in any way, I just think she has many better songs. But this is probably her best song that she wrote when she was 11. 😉

This album is pretty diverse. I'd definitely recommend listening to her first 2 studio albums. They are both perfection.

You need to match the volume of the video to your own voice . I hear you introducing the video then the video is just a whisper . FYI RE Your Singing , you might want to take a raincheck on that LOL
You'd be surprised how close I actually have the audio levels between my voice and the music I react to haha. It's usually only a few decibels difference. I even turned up the audio for this one versus some other songs and it still managed to be a bit quiet (ig it's just a quieter song). I do appreciate the criticism though, thehonestcritic :)
adding a reply to say I went back into streamlabs and noticed it reset the desktop audio levels, so I'm thinking there was a reset when I reopened the app to record earlier today. Either way, going to be looking into it. Thanks again!
Your own voice is so much louder than the music it is annoying
Due to the quieter nature of this song and a bug with Streamlabs audio mixer, it ended up being a bit more quiet than expected. Should hopefully be fixed in upcoming reactions, but it can be hard to catch due to the volume of the songs in videos not matching what I actually hear through my headphones. Although, if you think my voice is annoying, there isn't much I can do about that haha
