I really love that Samus and Mother Brain speak the Chozo language to each other. And I love that the Metroids make Mothra noises like the Baby Metroid does in Super Metroid.

@@NL-X It's in regard to fangames, mods and fanimations. Speaking of which, I'm fairly certain that fangames like 2d Prime came long before official Nintendo releases like Samus returns and Dread. The fan did 2d free aim in Metroid first!
Indeed. As a pipe organ player, about 3 years ago I played along to 45mins of the IMHO best orchestral OC remixes, stitched a complete 4K@60fps gameplay movie to the 7.1 surround album and presented this in a local cinema TWICE in 2022. You'll find the full album/movie called "Metroid: Organ Transplants" (pun intended for a reason) and cinema reel on my channel, and in my discography (also linked on my channel and the video description) including download material. No idea why this popped up on my feed, but it was fun to watch! Not the smoothest animation, but I loved it. Keep going! I can just see/feel the passion in this short film.
This is such an awesome version of Zero Mission's story! The lighting and sound effects were excellent! I especially loved Mother Brain and Samus's dialogue exchange in Chozo, which was just so cool. My favorite parts were the recreated shots from the games themselves. I loved that you not only included scenes from Zero Mission, but also from Samus Returns' prologue! The attention to detail really made the whole thing pop!
7:05 "the self destruct sequence has been activated" unmistakable that audio was taken from the original Resident Evil 2 & pitched down. Nice
The movements are a little stiff and mechanical, but the models and lighting are absolutely gorgeous!

The only thing i couldnt get out of my head was the fact the ship model is based on the samus returns/super metroid ship rather than zero missions ship.
This was super fun and awesome to watch! Excellent work! The lighting and atmosphere were spot on--it felt a lot like Dread or Prime. The animation could be a little smoother, but that just means that you all should definitely keep going and improve your skills! I especially liked the thumbs-up at the end lol. Thanks so much for making this, you guys are incredible!

An animation which gives us a better look of tourian and mother brains control room to. How amazing is that!
Samus and mother brain speaking to each other in chozo is a nice touch to since we actually have a basis for their language thanks to Metroid dread

Okay it's based on Zero Mission...I was going to ask how could Samus return to Zebes when it was blown to pieces after Super Metroid. Nice visuals in this! Good job!

I love this but I couldn't help but think of how she's supposed to have a different ship, the power suit (not the varia suit) at the beginning, and she's not supposed to go back where she came from after mother brain dies, she's supposed to go up a long shaft behind mother brain (also technically shouldn't have power bombs in this area either). Otherwise, great job. Imagining a classic 2d game in 3d is amazing.
I think the powerbombs were a reference of how you can kill metroids with them in Super Metroid

I'd written a long comment hoping to offer some feedback and the RUclips App ate it when I went back to review some clips. Sorry if this comes across as highly critical. I had a great time watching this, I just don't feel like rewriting all those paragraphs.
In short, I think you had some fantastic atmospheric moments. The arrival in Tourian was easily my favorite part. The focus on sound effects with the music pushed to the background combined with the eerie lighting created a really suspenseful feeling of wondering what was lying in wait that I thought was super cool.
My biggest criticism would probably be the Rinka turrets. There's so few and they move so slowly, I never felt threatened by them at all. They kind of give a sense that they might just bounce off even if they did land a hit.
Overall, though, this was a fun watch!
if metroids really came out when fighting motherbrain, the game wouldve been unbeatable lol

I like the the ship they used in this video, the "other" ship uses rocket boosters to hover as opposed to this one that uses some kind of anti-gravity tech.
Much better future tech than using rockets boosters from the 50's.

This was really cool but the only criticisms I have is that there was a bit of liberty taken with the ship/suit considering ZM has her in the original suit and a way different ship from the rest of the series and this ties into my second point. If this was based on ZM couldn't it have ended with the ship being shot down and maybe another movie for the 2nd part of ZM? That way original suit/ship could be used and keep it faithful to ZM because right now this is more faithful to NEStroid.
Either way I enjoyed it, but would have liked to see Zero Suit Samus since that's part of ZM

The intro screen is all messed up, it makes no sense.
First of all, the second characters (and subsequent) should be flipped, as the space is a diagonal, in the same way you split the second and third word.
The first character on a line should always point down.
The characters pointing up in the ZDR writing system should be flipped, not rotated 180° (which basically means your characters are flipped horizontally). This is most the case, but not always.
Somehow some glyphs pointing down are flipped horizontally too.
The transliteration here account for this unwanted horizontal flips when possible.
The first line says "A fyl mbi". You used a rotated Y instead of an I, and an I instead of a Y (which by pure chance of the symbol being symmetrical, it looks correct).

On the second text screen you repeat the mistake of flipping the words, this time on the third for the first line, and the second line the second and last word.
The first character of both lines is pointing up instead of down.
The first line says "Bsseacor chana terd by".

The title is "Mitroed reter ot n?uies" (the fourth character from the last word is unclear, but it seems like an I, the second doesn't look like anything)
"Peae teznbls" is an anagram (the P seems incorrect though, the middle stem should not be interrupted as it looks from the video). However, we have the word "uliris" for "planet" in Chozo.
I don't have the time to analyse the dialog, but in any way the vocabulary we have is limited, so there is little point as you probably had to invent some. But it seems correct.

Not to be that guy but the original mission has Samus arrive in the regular power suit, she doesn't upgrade to the Varia Suit until later in the mission.
Aside from that one thing you have done an outstanding job, keep up the great work, you're amazing.
She also had a different ship and armor design at that point
Yup I know man, it was a creative decision to use the varia the whole short, it's not a video game it's a minimovie, I made the suit but didn't use it in the end

Hold up if this is tied to zero mission there's a major issue with the ending. As her ship would get shot down by the space pitates and samus would be forced to go to chozodia to gain the gravity suit,and the other upgrades you can get but are locked out until she proves herself during the challenge in one of the chozo ruins. By ridleys giant spaceship.

It's very funny. But SFX are bad, action is bad and overall movie is rather just retelling of Metroid 1 without any story to it.
It does retell the Metroid 1 story, in a broad over view without the need of having to play the game, since all power ups are sort of gained off screen. While giving a run down of what happens in the tourian sector. and the Escape with a silly speed booster ^^.

I mean, it's a 10 minute short film. Can't really do much with 10 minutes. Plus, the sound effects aren't really that bad. They all fit well enough, and for what this is (mostly action oriented with the final battle), not really much can be done.
