This feels almost like the love letter to the man who made the original Haloid, the very same guy who started RWBY. The man who sadly passed away years ago.
It feels kinda nice. We all have nothing but respect for the characters , but this in a way makes them feel human. Human in the sense that they are there for each other.
John: I'm so... proud of you Samus. You finally came back after so many years. Samus: thanks. I'm... Sorry... for what happened to you. John: don't worry, I'll be okay. I'd like to remind people that Chief has gone through a LOT of shit and that he had been forced to emotionally 'lock in' while fighting what is essentially an uphill/losing battle for humanity. He almost never had time to mourn the loss of his comrades or cope with the betrayal and death of a close ally, because another war just started and he's almost always needed. Samus lost everyone she was emotionally vested in and was a witness to the near extinction of a race that had taken her in when her parents were kill by a space dragon alien pirate who just doesn't know how to stay dead. Then when she finally finds 2 stragglers of the Chozo race, one dies the moment he proclaims himself as a friend and the other turned out to be part of the traitor tribe that killed the rest, then lost all of their own people to the FAFO disease. Sometimes you just need a hug. Specifically from someone who needs one themselves.

It's hilarious how Samus, with all her trauma and issues, is somehow less emotionally constipated than John, so I would find this absolutely accurate. She'd be a fantastic emotional support pillar.
I mean, chief was raised under strict military training, being ordered, basically, to suppress all emotions at all times, as to avoid risking the mission, whereas Samus, while still trained to suppress emotions, was never *ordered* to ignore them, as chief probably was, Given that the chozo were likely more compassionate than the unsc and Mendez/ Halsey were… So, chief being unfeeling, is because the unsc basically ordered him to ignore his emotions, and I agree, Samus, being a person who’s been through similar pain, could probably help him overcome his bottled up loss/ grief, from sam to cortana and reach TLDR: samus was raised by compassionate birdmen, cheif was raised as an asset, and a soldier

Thanks for making this i still think John and Samus would be a good couple both have been through way to much in there lives.
this one scene spoke over a million words. John is deeply traumatized and lonely as a supersoldier in his old age. loosely, Halo and Metroid as games have very similar plots. an orphaned child. no parents. trained, honed to perfection. raised to kill. given the best technology to battle. faced a dangerous foe that threatened the galaxy. and lived to hold that tale silently, not able to speak about it. Samus and John are somewhat similar in that aspect.
What fascinates me here is the meaning of that hug... It's not just that Those of us who know the pain that both characters and traumas carry. We know that they have never been hugged, both are soldiers (as one way of looking at it). That hug for both of them is what they never felt... or lost for so many years of their lives. It made me so sad to see it
I've always thought the two of them would find each other attractive and work well together as a team. They'd make a good couple I think if multi-versal shenanigans occurred.
The hard part with this is Chief and the Spartan II’s had augmentations including removing all sex drive. It’s gone. The Halo series forgot about that. So he wouldn’t see any physical attraction but would be astounded with her battle capabilities.
This is such an incredible animation. As someone who tried animating with sfm, I can appreciate how difficult this is. To make the characters look like they're breathing, the to animate samus hands, eyes, facial expression. Absolutely incredible.
Cheif and Samus's suits arent the type that would make the robot-servo noises but I love everything else about this. Like Samus is giving him the hug he could never get from Cortana ;-; Its so tender for two super soldiers in power armor
Long ago, back when I had time to browse and admire art from my DeviantArt phase, I stumbled upon a comic, a comic about Halo. The beginning art was crude, unpolished... but hailing the hallmarks of a budding artist with passion, one that later bloomed into a brilliant art style of their own. I have forgotten most of the details, but the story centered on John, before Halo 3, arriving with Cortana to a remote post, something about calibrating the forerunner data he downloaded into his helmet, which unfortunately for him would require weeks of time and to remove his helmet and armor (as the lore in this comic had the Mjolnir armor not function without the helmet connected). And so with trepidation John, striped of his armor, had to interact with the other soldiers at the post without the comfort of his armor. That was the main concept to the comic, John with his uneducated social skills interacting with newly recruited marines. There he met with many, including one young blond-haired pony-tailed woman named... Pvt. Samantha Aaron. Honestly, it took me an embarrassing long time, almost the end of the comic, for me to figure it out. It blew my mind when it did. Some people claim there was some... intimate tension, but he was a SPARTAN before she was born, so I saw their relationship more as a... familial standing, Father-Daughter kind of thing. This video reminds me of that. Maybe I should try to look for it sometime.
I sometimes forget howe big the Spartans are. Especially the Twos. Don't forget guys, Samus is a fairly tall herself, so it's impressive that even SHE needs to look up at Chief.
Now Imagine how awesome an Official Crossover would be. They're both Great Characters, and get their Jobs done, but if they go at any Enemy together, they're an unstoppable Force
Master chief was despairing about all the middling games Halo has gotten, then learned how long Samus has had to wait just for a single game. That gave him hope.
I really wish they went the route they were going for with Halo 4 regarding Chief’s story. I wish a lot of things for Halo, but that is definitely one of the ones at the top of my list. Im glad for Metroid fans…Halo should be so lucky.
Sometimes men are like that, we are not good at expressing our feelings with words, but with actions, and sometimes we just want a hug to know that someone supports us
Very wholesome video as always from you. As someone who has loved Pacific Rim ever since I was a child this is especially great to see love for Pacific Rim.
Samus stands close to 6' tall, so that would make Master Chief almost 8' tall just by observation alone. I got the aesthetic, but look up in the "Super Metroid" strategy guide for Samus' height in the fold out section for her measurements. Not sure where the official is for Master Chief, but I'm sure it's out there. Threw me off in the height difference visually. Good moment in storytelling overall.
I'm going to need a series. This was well done with all the camera angles. The halo show needs to take note of how you can convey emotion with body language
ngl when knowing what the master chief went through. from training to infinite. in his shoes damn near the whole time. Johnson, Maranda and Capt. Keys, blue team, and Cortana. a hug is the least this man deserves. but its fitting for someone like him, no war, no fighting or running for his life. an actual moment to reflect and remember, he's human.

I prefer the idea that samus sees doomguy and john as younger siblings than any romance or parental thing
@@shealupkes younger?

What fascinates me here is the meaning of that hug... It's not just that Those of us who know the pain that both characters and traumas carry. We know that they have never been hugged, both are soldiers (as one way of looking at it). That hug for both of them is what they never felt... or lost for so many years of their lives. It made me so sad to see it
My favorite thing about Master Chief
Somber yet hopeful music playing everytime the man moves his head.
I've always thought the two of them would find each other attractive and work well together as a team. They'd make a good couple I think if multi-versal shenanigans occurred.
I ship her with Snake in Smash but this one isn't bad either.
I always thought her and doomguy would be the couple and chief is their son
@@jordanrostek1153 Nah, Doomguy and Isabella

The hard part with this is Chief and the Spartan II’s had augmentations including removing all sex drive. It’s gone. The Halo series forgot about that. So he wouldn’t see any physical attraction but would be astounded with her battle capabilities.
This feels like the ending to a kick-ass movie right before credits roll and I love it.
This is was one of most powerfully moving things I've ever seen. I cried actual tears. Amazing work!
Thank You🤜🤛
This is such an incredible animation.
Samus giving her son emotional support while Daddy Doomslayer is gearing up for war
I appreciate you keeping their respective heights accurate here. Samus is 6'3 and John is over 7 feet.
One fact that hits kinda hard is that Samus can only hug Chief with one arm because her other arm is dedicated to only being a weapon
It's truly incredible to see what Metroid is up to despite a 20+ year long wait in some cases, iirc.
I shrudder to think about what would cause Master Chief to need a hug. If he's this way because of the current state of Halo, then understandable.
You know, something we usually overlook is the fact that Spartan 2s are technically children fighting this war...
I really wish they went the route they were going for with Halo 4 regarding Chief’s story. I wish a lot of things for Halo, but that is definitely one of the ones at the top of my list.
Im glad for Metroid fans…Halo should be so lucky.
Sometimes men are like that, we are not good at expressing our feelings with words, but with actions, and sometimes we just want a hug to know that someone supports us
Beautifully said
Good job on getting the height right. It's mostly all armour, but yeah, Chief is BIG.
I've always been a huge fan of both Halo and Metroid. This hits hard
The music and way this scene is shot and written reminds me a lot of Red vs Blue and I love it.
Two souls that suffer for so long have each other such beautiful resolve
Master Chief and Samus are a perfect match
Why?
Yes!! Finally someone understand my ships!!
She gonna crush his Pelvis
I mean samus has more emotion than chief I think but they would definitely be great friends. both would understand each other as they are lone wolfs
As a joke she's more like his adoptive space mom with his adoptive Doom daddy.
I’ve never played a Metroid game yet I always wanted to experience samus’ story, especially with the new one coming out
Why is this such a vibe? Also it hits more at night
As a Halo and 3d Metroid fan I love this. Also I hope we get an excellent Halo game soon.
I'm lost on the context; but this is super wholesome and I love it.
Doomguy is crying over a hill watching his buddies finally get together.
Why is it I could feel the pain he was letting out in that hug?... I shouldn't be crying...
He is officially 7'2 in armor.
I'm going to need a series. This was well done with all the camera angles. The halo show needs to take note of how you can convey emotion with body language
Honestly a team up of the armored badasses would be fire.
Chief
Gordon
Samus
Issac
Slayer
Cooper
All on one box art cover would be awsome.
I like to think chief learned that from the pilot giving him a hug at the end of Infinite.
Knowing what the backstory for both John and Samus is, this gave the depth of emotion an incredible burst of power!!💥 Excellent video!😎
Attention to detail is what I like about this video
So much emotion conveyed and still didn't need to take his helmet off.
loved seeing these two together again. RIP Monty Oum
Sometimes, all it takes is just a simple Show of affection and an epic music to make peak.
Funny to watch this knowing that Chief's best friend Samuel was the first Spartan to fall to Covenant.
@@RedHornSSS It's short for Samus . But you are right
@@FILMBIONICX Both shortens to Sam. So I wonder when Chief utters the name, doth his best friend's memory cross his mind
Don't worry Mr. Halo, if Samus can have good games again after so many years; so can you.
ngl when knowing what the master chief went through. from training to infinite. in his shoes damn near the whole time. Johnson, Maranda and Capt. Keys, blue team, and Cortana. a hug is the least this man deserves. but its fitting for someone like him, no war, no fighting or running for his life. an actual moment to reflect and remember, he's human.
*Basically what i need right now as a halo and gears of war fan.*
kinda impressed they got the height right. Samus is about 6'3", Master Chief is about 7 ft even with his armor on
I need this to be a series or mini series ASAP.
I'm picturing john as Halo to how 343 is treating the franchise that he needs a hug to keep strong, my opinion.
